That's going to make someone a sweet rig haha, look forward to putting her into action and making some contacts. Matt it's well worth the wait, thanks for the communications and building a awesome setup my friend
His work is spot on . I’m running two of his radios on my bench . One for AM/Local/Skip , the other for SSB sometimes . You won’t be dissatisfied or disappointed . I constantly get compliments on my audio
Hope the guy knows what to do with all that power! 😄 my pleasure and thank you for being a great customer. I know you will put this setup to good use, enjoy it..73
@@TheRadioGarage Sir will you show me how you set the Pres. Richard to run with the KL203P what are the menu numbers you used please I have asked you many times please help me out sir.
Nice setup. I used to tell people: To those who cannot wait, for what is currently on my slate, remember that patience is a virtue and if I must, I will post a curfew. Those who follow you understand and will practice patience, Matt. Keep up the great work. Smilin', I'm off the key. 😑🦗
Is it possible for you to do some mobile antenna tests with your equipment? Best receive, best talk, best overall. I'm a semi driver and am curious. Plus I think many would love to know info on that. Don't think it's been done before besides that Cooper electronics article
Excellent video Matt :) also the only thing found on Galaxy DX 959 radio on without GNF the radio voice on Am & Sideband mode natural plus light hiss and GNF on take hiss out but Am or Sideband but people vioce sounds like the donald duck or light muffled have ever heard that by someone use it ! But they have amazing ears agree 100% and does open Clarifier quit the drift on frequency on Transmit plus Recieve !
Ever consider doing any videos showing the diagnostic/testing/repair process so others can learn? There seems to be a shortage of good radio techs anymore, and as a ham trying to become a radio tech it's easier for me to watch and learn than read it from a book. Sounds like you'd make a good instructor!
I have a 503HD but haven't hooked it up yet. I was told it runs best at 1-2 watts carrier but definitely not more than 4 watts and a peak input of 30-40 watts. Watching this confused me a bit. It's not your fault I'm confused, obviously. Lol. I've seen and heard different ways to get the watt reading, but what do you think? Anyway to clarify that for me?
good question. I'm tired of messing around with these cheap meters.. I;m going to buy a Bird. Did you ever get a reply about his meter, or what is a good Bird for everyday use? Thanks.
Nice pair. I have the same amp I noticed the same thing the lower settings aren't worth using just jump between 4-6. Do you happen to have any new quad 6's for sale ? I'm thinking of ordering one from somewhere in the next few weeks. Thanks for sharing your videos have a great week 73
@@TheRadioGarage Ah that sucks about the quad6 a local here just got one and man that radio sounds awesome. Well can't wait to see more of your vids. Don't worry about multiple of the same if you got them I'm sure we will watch them. 😁✌🏼
I bought one of these for dirt cheap, I’m not quite sure how to set it up. I pickup some signals but not too good. Could it possibly be from not grounding out my antenna?
On a different note I’m curious about get a cobra 29 of mine fixed up besides tweak and tune is there anything I get done to it that can match up to a big radio besides getting a linear??
I cant wait til u open the flood gate for mail ins i got a few radios i want to send u for the radio garage HI Performance tune. And they are going to set on my desk until you open the gate. I was also wondering if you have heard of HARD DRIVE with FINE TUNE CB SHOP>> what do you think of him.I think i might try to get one of his radios. What do you think should i go for it or should i just turn and run...
I have a General Lee that has recently stopped working like someone holding a dead key although the radio is still on and no noise I would like to see if I might could send it to you to check it out how would I do that?
The Richard is different with stock menu set I turn down the rf all the way and it dead keys 2 watts and swings to 5 if you turn it up it deadkeys 15 and swings to like 35 or 40?
Would you be able to do a video/ setup for my Bj-300 amp and either a president taylor or a bearcat 880 or 980? I have everything Id just have to send it to ya and figure out a price to get everything looked at and tuned together. Let me know, I think the bj300 would get alot of views cause theres no good videos on it yet.
Im confused on the dead key deal . So , what should you set the dead key to if your running on level say 5 or 6 on the amp . reason i ask is because i have the exact same setup . I have the DX959 an just got a KL503HD about a week ago . I sure dont wanna mess anything up over or under driving the amp . Thanks in advance .
@@TheRadioGarage IF THAT RADIO IS SINGLE FINAL NO U HAVENT 18-20W MAX SSB PEP FOR A SINGLE FINAL GALAXY IF YOUR METER SAYS MORE THEN THAT THROW IT IN THE TRASH DUDE
If you have a resonant antenna system the length won't matter. I usually use something short though like 2 or 3 ft. Thanks for checking out the channel
I want a 959 but I cant a custom 959 aligned etc nice custom face made in Vietnam though an anytone 6666 pro/ Radioddity QT80.. Gonna run a 500 watt rm italy with whatever I get
