I have had smartphones since the very beginning and this is the first time I have encountered this. It was an old s10e with a broken charging port(wireless charge only) so no way to get stuff off the phone without surgery. The forced restart did the trick, you're a lifesaver!

my phone went in the pool and went black the next day. was sure it was dead, but after 20 restarts it came to life and is working perfectly! Thank you!!!
My S10 screen was black with only an edge panel sidebar with basic apps I never enabled, and the edge panel didn't work either. That first hard restart option you showed worked! Phone is back up and running! Thanks! I do plan to get a new phone soon though.

thank you. mine worked on the 10th time of trying the down button and lock button together. really thought my phone was gone for good T.T. i was already panicking because the other 9 times it was just black with a few quiet buzzes. 9th try had it flashing yellow-green lines before blacking out again.

I don't think so. It seems like S10 and S10e hit this issue in year 3 or 4, doesn't seem like it's possible to fix without replacing the motherboard. @@cheaterchalloy7835
I thought I damaged my s10+ after riding through rain with it. Got home it was still working fine until later it suddenly turned black! Tried it about 6 times only and i wanted to give up already but lo and behold! This actually work! You gained a sub. Thanks! Hopefully it stays working!
It worked! The screen was dead, after I plugged my phone into the charger. After 6 days I found this video and it helped!! I had to plug the phone into the charger and force restart (like in the vid - held about 15sec each time) for ~20 times... THANK YOU!
Thanks again....This works dont give up keep trying my screen was black...the guy at the store gave me a upgrade on a new phone....but thanks to this fix i was able to get my contacts and notes back from the old phone. It didnt work right away. it took a day or two ....think i needed the battery to charge more
@@Jalaljanahi85 i never changed the battery...Not sure if it was like a glitch or something...I think I did charge the phone even though the screen was black....i waited til the battery was dead 1st. when i had a full charge ...i used the hack

Thanx it worked battery was bone dead for too long I got the screen finally fixed and the shop replaced the screen and said won't charge or work ...I was pissed I found your video it would flash and only show lighting symbol but no charging amount and it worked and now is charging from 0 too 100 thanx a million...
Hopefully this helps many others. I did exactly what was told in this video without success for a very long time. I tried with the cord in, the cord out, I pressed the two buttons simultaneously for probably ten times when I got the vibrations, and then another 100 times by ignoring the vibrations and still no luck. But in the thread below someone used a rubber band to hold down the power button and volume down buttons on an ongoing basis. I did this for about an hour with no luck, it probably tried over 300 times. Then I thought the only option left for me was to drain the battery completely and then try to charge it from nothing in the hope it would start the screen again. As there was no screen to do anything, I used the rubber band method explained below where I looped a rubber band around the phone which held down the power button and the volume down buttons and then left the phone. About four hours later I walk back in the room and the start screen is appearing - no way...... So I remove the rubber band and the phone starts up as normal. I start using it, then the screen goes black again after about 30 mins of use, but it comes back and I have been using it now for several hours - fingers crossed it works. I found the phone overheating a bit which may have been the issue. I have switched off apps operating in the background, and then turning off the wi-fi and using mobile data seems to have made the largest difference. This seems to have been an issue with my Samsung s6 as well in the past - hmmmmmm.
My Samsung galaxy note8 suddenly turned off . I tried to turn on nothing works but when I was plugging in circle and lightning symbol was appearing without percentage ..when I try keep in freezer then plug in it response sometimes ..one time I could turn on I opened gallery to see my pics but wifi was on and it turned off black again. Next day it turned for few seconds then turned off..also after freezer....do you think I have to turn off WiFi and close all windows and delete unnecessary apps ? Do you think apps cause this issue ?
Thank you so much The forced restart worked. It worked after about 30 restarts I cooled the phone with ice water then I restarted it multiple times until it worked.
Ok, my screen went black yesterday. I tried the master reset. It did reset but screen REMAINS BLACK. I can hear it restart and even feel the vibration when attempting my unlock code. I can receive incoming calls and I can hear notifications, when doing all of this my screen still remains black. Please Help Me Somebody!!!!!!
@@piyushkashakya My phone was still under warranty so I took it back to tmobile and I end up receiving a refurbished phone. First I took it to a cell repair. They insisted I went back to tmobile. They didn't want to touch it lol. I'm glad I did tho, my warranty would have been void. They say my LCD went out.
It works like a charm, i was using my phone, then the screen turned off and i plugged the charger in but the screen was still black, then i find this video and phone went rebooted, thanks man

thanks man.. mine is working.. after more than 20 time then plug in and doing more and more.. and i try press the screen maybe having some luse connection restart again and again..its appeared charging logo.. then i force restart again now it back to normal.. thanks man
god swear my s10 Plus was automatic black screen and cant fix. i go to shop they say display problem. I was so sttresed . then i went home then i watched your video then god swear more then 100 i try but it cant fix after 2 days i try suddenly phone started working. Thank you so much god bless you.

Hi, Could you please help me out with this. My phone (Samsung S10+) suddenly had a complete black screen in the morning while removing from charger. Initially I can hear the calls and all but now I don't know if its switched off or not because all I can feel is only small vibration while pressing the volume down & power button. The logo doesn't shows up. Only vibration is felt. I hold the buttons for 1 min & felt about more than 7-8 vibration but no logo appeared. Please do help me with the situation. My phone didn't fell on ground or anything,but this happened somehow
Hey, I've got an S10E and I've tried that multiple times, left it on charger for 45 min, still nothing so I tried my wireless charger for another 30 to 40 and nothing.. I'm not tavern good at these kind of issues. If you have any suggestions without sending alot or also taking it somewhere so they make me spend alot lol thank you!! hope to hear back!
thanks for stressing to hold the buttons down for long lengths of time and retrying etc ! Mine has been black screening and power/vol down was restarting it. Today I got the "use the emergency software recovery" error and no combos of buttons would restart it. I was about to give up but held down power and vol down for nearly 5 min and I got it to restart. Thanks ! I'm not sure why it keeps happening but at least I'm past this point.
I received a refurbished Galaxy S10E phone today that I bought from the Samsung store and during set up, while performing the smart transfer from my old phone, the new phone froze. I tried to tap the back arrow and it didn't respond, aftery trying this several times I have up and tried to restart the new phone, when I pressed the power button the screen went black but it didn't power down, I can still feel it vibrate and beep when I press the volume buttons, I have attempted the tutorial several times and I am still unsuccessful. I'm the notes you said you might have a couple more solutions to try so I am reaching out hoping you're still responding to this thread
Alright I know this is going to come off as im THICK but I know you said keep trying & that's fine but how long at a time do i keep the buttons pushed in ie...continue holding for 3 minutes then take off & try again (as I said sorry if this seems like a silly question)
