@@anttikarhu22 exactly my thoughts. I bought the s22 right after the release for less than half the price with trade value. It's 90% of the phone and for me who use it for day to day purposes (i don't game on my phone) it's practically the same phone.
@@anttikarhu22 $899 if you bought a new one.. but with trade in, cashback, discount + other benefits like pre order bonus and samsung care I paid only $199 upgrading from S22 to S23..
@@anttikarhu22 paying $199 per year to get a newer phone with faster chipset + longer update cover + extra 2 years of samsung care all risk warranty services ?? Heck yeah I really feel congratulated.. I prefer that way rather than keeping my $799 phone for 4 years and buy a new one..
s23 got a big boost 👀. Not worth upgrading if you already have the s22 (unless you got money to blow) but definitely worth getting over the s22 if you have neither
I just got the s23 and my gf got the s22 my phone definitely has better speeds and sound and pictures. But over all these phones beat out iPhone 12's we had
@@MattSnow-rl9gn 8gen2 snapdragon is faster and a battery saver compared to the current s22 chipset. I'm from S20U and got my S23U and there's a big difference in performance. My brother is currently using S21U which uses 8gen1 Snapdragon, and it is a battery drainer.
@@inderjeetsanty4294 The issue with snapdragon 888 or 8+gen1 is heating and battery drainer. I can atest to this since in our family, my brothers main phone is S21U, both my parents is using S22U(they always buy the same phone), and I'm currently using S23U. First month, my brothers complain about his was battery drain issue. And is associated with heating.
@@Ssh52 i have the exynos version, battery SOT i reach 4 hours sometimes little longer. I'm happy with it because i bought it on releaseday last year for €500 new. For me the newe s23 is not worth it to trade in, but if you are looking for a new samsung phone go for S23 or S23+
@@ashuchan69yearsago92 go ask any phone repair guy on your street and tell them to put new components onto an older chassis of phone and they can't do it. Even though phone cases could be a reason it doesn't make much sense as nobody buys the companies phone cases anyway and when you buy one in a store they are made by the store not samsung or apple for example
The last time I got excited about new phones was during the era of Sony Ericsson. Models like Xperia Play, Arc, X10 were eye candy. And not to forget their W (walkman) series. Today, all phones look more or less generic with camera and processor power being the major differentiating factor. The UI/UX isn't that different across the board.
*I have the Green S22+ BUT IT LOOKS BLUE in person, so I think I'm going to trade it in for the Green 23+ because it actually looks like Green and the camera cutout looks way better*
They always say "improved battery" everytime new model comes out. But the momemt you have it and use it as usual you don't really notice battery performance change. So staying with s22 and will only upgrade when there's BIG improvements.
@@everydaylife6528 Samsung and good battery life doesn’t fit well in 1 sentence 😂😂 If you compare the S23 battery with iPhone 14 plus (same price) real life battery, iPhone will wipe Samsung all day all night 😝 Understood Samsung Fanboy ?
I bought s22 base back in july of 2022 and trust me im gonna use this phone for next 5 years 😄. Battery life isn't as bad as people tend to make it. Well, i have electricity and charger so im good 😆
same. battery life may be underwhelming especially during busy days where i use my phone on data a lot, but the super fast charging more than make up for it
No its not if u jump to s22 to s23 the (NEW) excitement well last about 20 mins then you will go back to using the phone the same way as ur 22 why because its on the same software people got to understand its the same phone different body with little upgrades
I think there should be photo and video performance comparison and a battery drain test to decide. S21 and 22 weren't that different except video shooting at night while battery performance was better on the S21, so I chose the S21. If both the battery and camera performance is better on the S23, then it surely is worth for an upgrade.
Camera comparison coming tomorrow morning. Just posted Galaxy S23 VS iPone 14 Pro Camera Comparison: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R6yg--Lvldc.html
@Redskull ... hello sir, would you recommend upgrading from the s21 to s23? Also, is there any chance of a camera and video comparison of the s21 to s23? Keep up the great work.
@@dappadondadda100 My brother owms S21U and I upgraded my S20U to S23U. 1 thing I notice is the battery. You'll get more screen usage on S23U than S21U. Maybe because the 8gen1 Snapdragon was labeled as "battery drainer" chipset. But the camera is still the same though. Except you get more zoom on S23U. What I like about S23U compared to below model was both the S pen amd 8gen2 Snapdragon. I use my phone both taking photo and casual gaming. The S prn was a huge help removing unwanted small scars or pimples on your subject. Or removing small objects on your photos. On gaming, I can play 3games of CODM( around 12-19mins per game) and my battery is still more than 80 percent.
In one of review videos I found that stabilization of potrait zoom camera is massively improved in s23, stabilization of other camera are also improved. So, basically stabilization is also improved which no one generally talk about in such comparisons
EXACT Same size of display, EXACT same aspect ratio of body, SAME boxy-flat design and finished with SAME matte back glass… Needless to say this is imitation of iPhone.
@_ It literally isn't. Don't know how you made such a far stretch. The boxy flat design isn't even completely flat. It's still curved and isn't an aggressive flat surface like the iphone has.
Battery life is definitely improved, it's POSSIBLE (not verified) but the S23 series might have the best battery life of android phones in the market right now.
For the basic model with sot can last around 5 hours And for the ultra can last for 11 hours Dunno about the plus but probably can last up to 9-10 hours
I would say considering the chipset you got in the new phone, yeah it's worth upgrading. S22 uses 8 Gen 1 and Exynos 2200. The 8 Gen 1 is quite known to be a powerhog that drains a lot of battery and also it can heat up a lot based on detailed testing by multiple credible sources. Switching to S23 with 8 Gen 2 that have a more stable performance and power usage is definietly worth it. If you get the Exynos version, as long as you don't game too much it's fine not to upgrade I guess? I heard that after multiple software update, Exynos does have better battery and temperature compared to S22 SD8g1. But if you do game, the Exynos lack of OpenGL make it pretty bad for games where OpenGL is mandatory, however when using Vulkan the Chipset can be quite a beast. Though overall its worth it to upgrade from both version of S22.
Yes, it's worth upgrading if you get a good deal. I bought s22 thinking that it will be good for me for 3-4 years but battery life proved me wrong. But with s23, I think it is really possible to keep it for 3-4 years. Already booked same green color.
I am on the fence about upgrading from the s22 to the s23. I do like the new design and the bigger battery so I'm just waiting on more reviews and curious on the new chipset also
@@RobtheKO8Efan24 Just wait for a year or so cause the value of Samsung phones drop fast. Also yea the chipset of the S23 should be more efficient on battery as it was made by TSMC this time
The Samsung a54 5G has the same design as the S22 but the slight difference is that It does not have a better camera and does not have the snapdragon costing half the price.
Instead of upgrading, I would say its worth trading off for it. Why buy it to upgrade, when you can trade for it? That's just my opinion, it may not matter to others.
If you're on S22, S23 will be worth it. Get done with the winter hand warmer that it is. Most of the people I know just casually use their phone and it's super hot.
Am a person who always use a phone until it's software support ends ! Came from Xioami Poco F1(3 years until the end of software support) to S22 ! Now it's been a little over a year and it still feels as good as day 1 ! Will keep it until the end of it's software support ! Absolutely love this device ❤
faster storage and massive battery live is the big difference of this two, my s22 drain quite fast when i do some intensive use but it's way better when i try s23. the other else won't be than notiiceable if you're upgrading from s22
One more thing, price also is premium honestly dont upgrade if there's no problem with your phone unless a lot of except like having peoblems of storage and making it slow
For mention, the camera island was removed so Samsung could make room for the bigger cameras and not take too much space so users won't be annoyed by the island being too big, same happend with S22 Ultra before that, and the S21 series, where they changed the design of the island and made the camera better and added bigger sensor than the ones from last year's S20 series
I have the s22 about a year. I use it for business, WhatsApp email no games, I reach about 5 hours daily with 85% battery charge. For me it is enough, I you are game player so it is not the right phone for you. I use dark themes and battery save on
I've used alot of phones with a bunch of different bench marks and I got to say that increase in real world will definitely be noticed . Not immediately and with every app. But when you are on multiple apps and not having things freeze ever you'll not want to go back
I upgraded my S22 to S23 and I wanted to have the bigger battery and the SD 8 Gen 2 as I live in the UK having the SD chip has been so good and now globally rather than certain regions and for me it has been worth the upgrade
If you have the money: Then yes If you dont: Then not If you have a contract then: wait for the S24 (only if you want) If you are a tech geek: then do it *all off this are the things I would do*
S23 gets thicker benzels, but it doesn't have the camera bump on the back. That means when I put on a case, the phone's back will be flat, so it will stay on my table in a completely stable and balanced way =)) I upgrade from S22 to S23 just because of that reason ^^
I have S22 in the same white colour and here's how it performs : 1. Performance is good in day to day life, no lag but heats while gaming 2. Battery life is better than expected 3. Camera is good but post processing is very bad, makes the person look too bright or sometimes too dark, not reliable 4. In hand feel is the best in market, build is solid and looks good. 5. Display is again one of the best and bright. 6. One UI is so much enjoyable and ergonomic. 7. And as per rumors, battery doesnt heat in normal use but only after gaming session. PS : A very nice looking handy phone that can last all day and excellent for daily use and a quite more !
Using s22u past 3 months. Battery back up is on lower side. Found myself charging it twice in a day but now am used to it. Got it for the price of s23 so ya, still considering it is a good buy
Its basically like how samsung had s8 and s9 both are worth it for the 5 years of android support alone, I had an s8 for 5 years and I switched to S22, those features on s8 I missed was soon forgotten (wireless headphones)(google drive+256gb) (amoled screen that doesnt burn in as fast) (flat design for more structural integrity). S8 in 5 years like brand new expect for lack of support and amoled screen burn in and replacing anything is not worth it
Biggest flaw on s22 was the heating problem and battery problem. They solved both of those problems on s23. Also they improved the camera as well. There are also going to be a longer software support for s23. Definetly worth it imo.
To release S24 next year with thinner bezels then it would like an upgrade. Look at the volume buttons, they went lower on the S22 then for some reason reverted up as the S21 with the S23.
@@RedskullPro I have a lot of money to burn but I’d rather be smart and save it, or at least spend it on something more worthwhile than just a minor phone “upgrade”.
