I can only speak from my perspective. The S24U is by far the best smart phone I have ever owned. It is a keeper for the nexy two to three years for sure.
@@user-kb1jv2us4e The camera has so many options, I don't think many people have explored it all. See what the Pros on RU-vid have to say and how to use it.
Same here, I bet we all got 512 gb version for $717 or $757 in the past couple of weeks. My first Samsung phone & I m loving it. I sold my pixel 9 pro XL for this.
I have an S23 Ultra, and it's the first phone I've had in a while that I just love. It can do so much, and it's incredibly good at everything it does, that just sums the whole thing up.
I own the s24 Ultra and the Pixel 9 Pro XL. Both have great screens. But the one thing I haven't heard mentioned by any reviewer is that, while the Pixel's screen is stunning at or just below max brightness, the quality goes way down from there, getting a bit flat and lifeless under about 80% brightness imo. The Ultra doesn't have this issue - I can use it at 50% brightness or even lower and the colors still pop and content looks gorgeous. This matters to me from both an eye comfort and battery perspective, and is one of the main reasons I find myself coming back to the Galaxy more often than not.
I have the S24 + I am getting the Ultra next weekend did you have the 23 Ultra and if so did you see a major difference cuz the 25 series is coming out
I changed my daily driver from oneplus 10 pro to Samsung Galaxy s24 ultra , the amount of upgrades were insane😮😮😮 not only the user interface was much more smoother friendlier and much more customisable without using any custom launchers, but also the updates were much more high quality, the display has much more vibrant colours and the speakers sound much more fullar and richer !! I would advise anyone who is planning to buy the s24 ultra even at the end of 2024 , just stop thinking , spend your money and grab the device, you are gonna have one hell of a time !!! ❤❤❤❤
when i first got it i was surprised by the build quality, it felt premium, a really well made product. its been weeks now and everytime i look at the s24 ultra, i notice the equally thin bezels, the beautiful display with the rectangular shape and how solid it feels. this is my first high end phone so im truly amazed at the build quality, thoroughly impressed by it. really glad i got this on a good deal too, performance has been great, handles gaming and stuff really well. love it!
If Google and Samsung were to properly collab and a make a S24U Pixel edition, with some of Samsungs most useful software features, we'd have a true winner.
Oh my god please Google never EVER do such a collab. Samsung software is the shittiest part of every Samsung device, no matter if it's a smart tv, phone, tablet or washing machine. Too many bugs and security risks they take. The Google android is the most secure you can be in the current android world with 80% of all security Linux kernel fixes implemented. Samsung doesn't even come close
If they gave up on the Pixel line I could see this. Would be nice to essentially have the "Nexus" return. Essentially if they could either dig some of these manufacturers out of retirement, or essentially force certain one to make a serious phone instead of these middling devices (Motorola has no business not selling eye catchers as long as they exist, among others)
If pixel series use the snapdragon flagship then it'll beat s24 ultra, the only better thing on pixel pro xl is its camera but s24 ultra isn't far behind
the S-pen is a remote camera button it's just the best tool on any phone rn aside from DEX but with how bad Samsung's been after the galaxy s10 they'll probably remove that like they removed the expandable storage and headphone jack.
@3mar00ss6 I think they know they'll get bit if they give the Note fans the cold shoulder. Then again, them and Apple (and Google) have been pretty shameless in copying eachother as of late.
After one ui 6 and onward. I havent been able tk disable the galaxy store notifications. And for a 1350 USD phone. It feels really shitty on my s23 ultra to have to clear those ads on my s23 ultra. If someone knows how to override it id appreciate it.
@@ChadH2023 When i do its greyed out. I can disable them on the lock screen and home screen but i will get them on the notif shade regardless appearantly. Did not have this issue pre One Ui 6
@@spikeimperial That's really strange. Maybe look into the communication preferences and see.i can't remember the last time I got notifications from the galaxy store.
I'm only 1:52 in and I just have to say Thank You for touching on the fingerprint/smears that always seem to be present on Samsung Phones. I haven't used an S24 Ultra but I have an S23 Ultra (not my current daily), and I've had an S22, an S21, and a Note 9 before that and all of them had the fingerprint/smears on the screens, and over time they would get the oleophobic coating worn off where you always scroll with your thumb. I really wish Samsung would do something about this and make their oleophobic coatings better. I know it can be done because none of the iPhones I've ever had ever had this issue. My current daily is a 15 Pro Max and my fingers have to be properly gross in order to leave any marks on the screen. I hardly ever feel the need to wipe it down.
I was disappointed going from the note 20 ultra to the s23 ultra. The s23 is a brick compared to the note. Will we ever get thin flagship phones again?
I gave up my 15 pro max for the S24 ultra because the S24 Ultra is the king. Show me a phone with better screen quality, more versatile camera, much better battery life or more features than this and with every update Samsung improved it further 🫡
Outside the US, there are numerous phones comparable to the S24U. In the US, due to government policies, consumers have access to only a fraction of the choices available, leaving them in the dark ages of smartphone technology possibilities. Brands like VIVO, Honor, Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, and others offer fantastic phones with features that are important to many people, including fast charging, larger batteries, larger sensor cameras, bulletproof displays, and all now provide 4+1 years of support, which aligns with the average upgrade cycle. Really, no smartphone stands out if you have the full spectrum of choices. In the US, the bias for Samsung is because there are nominal Android choices.
Completely agree on the screen smudging. This phone is phenominal in all regards aside from screen smudging and 1 hand comfort/usability. It's sitting side line while I use my P9P just because of these 2 factors.
It's the worst phone ever for smudging. I now carry a cloth around with me because it is awful. I saw the Tab S10 Ultra with the same display, and it didn't look very good after a few minutes. I now have a tempered glass protector that is anti-smudge. I do lose the antiglare feature now. This is a flawed design; hopefully, they will fix it next year.
Samsung-Log Just no! HDR10+ (Samsung) is already a 1/4 heartedly supported standard. They'd seriously be better off just dropping out and just getting sensors backends and Logs from Sony or one of these other actual imaging industry veterans instead of trying to push something else that's guaranteed to get the cold shoulder.
If I get an another Android phone it would definitely be a Samsung phone. As I’m still worried google dropping the pixel line up like stadia. Maybe not fair to judge them but I like reliability and consistency hence why I’m still on my iPhone but I’d definitely get a Samsung phone again
Stadia never caught on was the problem. Google pixels get more popular every release, so I think that's not a similar situation for Google. I don't blame you for your hesitation though.
My S24 Ultra has been a total battleship. At this point I run my 9-5 job, personal productivity tasks, videos, stock trading, photography, and messaging from this one device. If I could write code from it I wouldn't even own a laptop anymore. What a tremendous piece of technology. The Qualcomm chip plus the Samsung display, superfast fingerprint reader, great camera, and excellent battery life is everything anyone could ever ask for. I hope I can use this for another at least few years.
@@SanguinePinkI'm also afraid of fully committing to Pixels. Even now, Google is not expanding their market reach for the Pixels even with how popular they are now. Google is also not fully committing to it.
@@SanguinePinkI disagree with that. To me Google never gave Stadia a chance to take off. Within a year I believe they stopped development of games in their internal studios and just opted for 3rd party games mostly. And their pricing model didn’t help. They were expecting too much in such a short amount of time.
Unbeatable how much did samsung pay you to say that?????? Camera zoom issues grainy screen battery life stinks, Google apps keep updating 3 times a week and them monthly updates making things worse I've exchanged 3 different S24U all the same its the Google platform and 14 ui 6.1.... ya Unbeatable mess crap from samjunk typing this from my iPhone 16 pro max best move i did.. hate to say this from a longterm samsung user 15 ui 7.0 hahaha S25U just another failure to come
the Ultra line is just too large of a device; not to mention the full rectangular frame. the in hand feel is ridiculous. Samsung offers awesome hardware but software will always be a crux imo.
i don’t see many people complaining about iphone promax size . Majority of Consumer don’t really care about the ridiculous size of larger smartphones. They are hook to their smartphones.
UI is subjective, what you exaggeratedly describe as horrible, I and mant othere consider the best android UI on the market. Its OK to have preferences but don't trash something cause you don't like it 🙄
S24 Ultra has everything but I just think it's a lil too big. The S-pen can be useful for signing documents but I honestly don't use it that often. I opted for the S23 plus cuz it feels really good in the hands and everything is also very good.
I have had Ultra for years and never used the S-pen. I am sure some people live and die by it, but I would not miss it. If the S-Plus model ever gets 5X zoom and no Exynos, I would choose that in a heartbeat.
If Samsung could get their animations together just like iOS it would be better to use. All the time there’s white or black blinking when going back to an app or having the app icon going gigantic just because when the app is still in the background and it opens where you left it
Hey OreoDave, I've been using Nexus and Pixel phones for a while now. The Pixel's Android operating system is top-notch, but the Tensor chip is a bit of a letdown. I'm not sure about the Pixel 9, but the 6, 7, and 8 models have been a bit disappointing.
Yes, only the 2024 Android flagship has 12GB RAM. Of course, being a techie is something I care about, especially as 12GB in tests cannot even beat 8GB iPhones in RAM management. Still, creators will never mention something as important as that for a device supported for 7 years. Rumour is that the base S25U also has 12GB; you must buy 1TB to get 16 GB.
Reason y i have trust issue on youtubers Issues in s24u -heating issue -brightness drop in outdoor usage(peak brightness is kinda gimmick) -lag in homescreen becs of bad animations - occasionally camera lag Non of the issues were mentioned
I had hearing issues after the first major One UI 6.1 update date, but this last update got me back to days where I get 19 hours of battery and 6-7 hours of SOT with 10% left. The thermal management is fine now.
I’ve had iPhone for 13+years. I’m debating switching back to android, but my main concern is my iPhones last 7 years before I need an update. (I buy a new one every 4 years. But keep my old ones and they still are fast) When I had android they got slow after 1-2 years. There’s better features with android, but every Samsung phone I’ve had, the charge port broke, the camera fogged, the screen quit working after a minor drop. I’ve shattered my iPhones to the point where the glass peels off. And they still worked. So I think I’m probably gonna stick with iPhone until someone convinces me otherwise.
the s24 ultra is the best yet, not a lot of people mention it but the screen is actually a massive upgrade over the s23 and now you have 7yrs of software updates
There is "no improvements" because the s24 ultra is near perfect. Pixel line ups have been horrendous in the past with battery, stutters and overheating. Hoping this year's makes up for it long term.
Samsung definitely has the most premium looking hardware for what they charge. Google brought their game this year though even if they're taking a page from the Apple play book. Nothing wrong with using good design in my opinion. Personally don't think I'd ever wanna go back to anything other than a Pixel because of how good the software experience is.
what are you even talking about? the 3x on the s21 ultra is 10MP, it is exactly the same as the one still being used in the s24u. i should know because i own the phone, it's not a bad phone by any means but it is starting to show its age in my experience.
