All storage criticisms are valid, though I would appreciate Linus opening storage manager in 30 or 60 days just to see usage. I’ve had a 15 Pro 256 GB for a year now, even restored from backup during setup and I’m at 103 GB used. Would be cutting it close if I only had 128, but still would not be hitting that limit.
I have a 13 pro max 256 GB.. cause I wanted the Serria Blue color. I’ve had it about 2.5 years now and only have about 50 GB of it used up. I have about 8,000 photos and yet I still use iCloud plus but mostly for the built in private browsing features offered in the subscription, the back up is just an extra bonus. Funny how most people don’t realize that iCloud is not just a service to back up your phone. They’re other services and features which make it worth the whole 2 bucks a month? 🤷♂️
As someone who has gone towards the mentality of " phones are good enough for years/don't need a new one every 1-2" I feel ill wait. I also think that Linus is right with going for a base model this year. I'm all for getting the best processor, battery, etc, but the base model is only barely behind the pros this year.
I can see that but if you’re getting a phone every 4-5 years I would get the best I could afford at that time. Processor Battery Camera/bigger sensor/telephoto Data transfer Titanium 120 hertz screen Smaller bezel Apple really should move up to 12gb of ram and start at 256 gb storage for both models standard though.
My Galaxy note 10 is falling to pieces - if I want to use the camera I have to take the back off because the glass is broken. Just two family members who need upgrades before I get mine.
about the action button, you can set it so it has a different function depending on location, time, rotation of the phone or if a different app is open.
i think he might want to focus on that more in the main channel review when he has actual day to day experience and i guess you can look apples alleged claims up quickly enough yourself that it doesnt need to be in the video ?
Apple is not the only one pushing a subscription storage model Google has a similar tactic neither of their phones have memory expansion. I think Samsung is also slowly breaking away from that as well
for the s24 256gb costs 60 euros more while iphone 16 its 130 shipping flagships with 128gb and no micro sd slot is definitely bad but 7% price increase is definitely easier to stomach than a 13% price increase of a more expensive phone
I wouldn’t say 128GB is a ridiculous amount of storage for a phone with cloud storage and all, but how much they charge for upgrades is ridiculous. Also, the fact that they advertise the 128gb storage of their phones as “tons of storage for all of your photos and videos” - 😑 that’s some serious gaslighting Apple.
I think that the phones this year are fine. People just get a little too into the weeds. People are upgrading from like their iphone X and 11's to these phones. People that actually care about how much their phones cost do not get a new phone every year. I skipped this years iphone and this years pixel (Even though the pixel 9 Pro XL looks so much better than my 8 Pro) because I really use my pixel just for work stuff and then my iphone is really just there to take some photos and scroll facebook marketplace. Save your money and upgrade when it really feels worth it.
That slider button being on the right side is one more reason why I won't be getting this phone. As a left-handed person, it's a useless gimmick that I don't want to pay for
yeah just like every other tech reviewer that 'loves android' yet in every vid/picture they're in, they're wearing an apple watch (which we all know an iphone is a basic requirement for)
@@frostyjeffI had a Huawei watch and it was really good with awesome battery life but it wasn’t accurate enough in the sensors and I had to go back to Apple Watch because of a heart issue I have.
Haven't watched the full video yet but I'm genuinely loving how excited/nervous Linus is within the first 70 seconds. Regardless of what you think about Apple vs Android surely all of us as tech fans can just appreciate the excitement of a new tech toy?
That cinematic "feel" from 24fps panning shots are what breaks immersion in the cinema. The one major downside from the insistence of the 24fps "feel" are panning shots. Brandon got that one backwards.
The direction you swipe to zoom on the 16 is not natural. What IS natural is the interface every camera with a zoom rocker functions. To the left is zoom in, to the right is zoom out.
Yeah. I mean apple is giving more and more features that android has which is giving me less and less reasons to stick with android. For example, widgets for one, was the major thing keeping me on android.
@@electricant55lol, you’re gonna get a lot of hate for that statement. But I did a similar thing. I’ve been an iOS user for a while, bought and set up a galaxy for my brother, let me tell you I hated it, it’s newer and better than my iPhone but the OS is trash IMHO
I am against spending money on unnecessary upgrades. But what about free... now free I like. I am upgrading my phone using a combination of a big box store offer and an offer from my cellular provider for a boosted trade-in credit to upgrade an iphone 13 base model (that is ready for a new battery) to an iphone 16 pro. When the choice is to trade up to a 3 years younger new phone for free. ... I will take it.
4:23 lol this sequence of nope just do the apple way and shut up, would annoy me so much and its the reason i dont thing ill even make the switch nope. thank good my country discarded sms long ago
I have a 12 for a work phone and a galaxy s20 for a personal. I feel this way almost every time I use the iPhone. I can get used to it being different. I can’t accept a lack of option to make it more intuitive to me. Just because Tim cooks hands are on upside down doesn’t mean I should be forced to use it that way
5:05 linus is right, it's backwards because literally every other physical camera before now and still on the professional side... sliding or rotating to the left has always been zoom out, and sliding or rotating to the right has always been zoom in
Compare the cameras to the s24 Ultra and realize just how soft and honestly kinda crappy the iPhone 16pro cameras are, its not great. I have a 15pro and s24 ultra, the s24 Ultra still ends up my pocket as my daily driver, I really only use the 15pro for the occasional time I want to use the lidar sensor for something lol
Am I missing something or does the Google Pixel 9/9 Pro also not start at 128GB of storage and charge the same amount to upgrade? Don't remember any hullabaloo complaining about it then.
