Honest comment: We all come across sooo many videos on you tube of how to repair but you have actually made an easy video for people to understand. Clear and precise. Even a first timer could do this. Great job! Le55ons, keep up the good work!

Hi, I just wanted to thank you for this video. My S3 went through the washing machine! I thought it was dead! Using your guide I stripped it down, soaked all the boards and components in medical alcohol to drive out the moisture, left to dry one day outside in the shade and then overnight in front of a desk fan and it works good as new. Thanks again. Hope helps others.

Okay seriously broke student here and I don't know you but I have to tell you I LOVE YOU!! I was watching another you tube video about disabling GPS (privacy freaks whatever lol) and I opened the back of my S3 to check it out. My SIM/Micro SD tray was loose when I put it back together and I thought that's how it was before and closed up my phone and it would not recognize my SIM card etc. I even went into my service provider and they couldn't help. (they didn't seem impressed I took it apart either) lol I could connect to the internet but not make any calls and being a broke student was really upset at the idea of having to buy out my contract and get a new one. You SAVED MY bacon! I happened on to your video and realized the ribbon connector wasn't connected, plugged it in and bam fixed phone!! :D Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Oh and very interesting to see the rest of the video to learn about what everything is in my phone and if I had to repair it I might even know how now. I'll be keeping this video on my favorites list for sure!! BIG thumbs up! Only one thing you didn't mention I think is where the GPS is located but I think maybe from now on I should just leave well enough alone. It is really interesting seeing the working parts of my phone though. :D Thanks again!

Just wanted to drop you a note of thanks. Your video was extremely helpful in the repair of my old phone. It had sat dormant for about 18 months and an opportunity popped up on Ebay for a new LCD assembly. I had no idea that it would require so many components to be transferred. After sifting through several videos which lacked the detailed removal of parts I came across your video. In 30 minutes I had a great phone to activate as a second line. Thanks again. I hope to find something else you have done. Your style is perfect for an inexperienced person doing a complicated repair.

I had been planning on upgading to the Nexus, but thanks to your video, I was able to clean a surprising amount of crud out of my phone, and its working as good as new. I followed this guide and had my phone re-cased in less than 30 minutes. Works perfect and looks like new. Make sure you get all the gaskets out of the old case. There is one above the USB connector and one where the notification LED is. Also, make sure you transfer the grey heat sink "putty" to the new case.

There is a small gasket that may also be needed for your new screen that has not been mentioned here. It’s the one located right behind the small square of the ear piece ribbon. You can clearly see it at minute 09:10. Many thx for this super lesson! It sure did help me!

Thank you again, I got the accelerometer working after I found the repair manual. What I did is expose the mainboard and apply heat with my blow dryer to certain spots. It got very hot, but then the sensor started working again. When it cooled off it stopped working, but after an overnight charge the phone is fully functional.

Thanks for the advice, I managed to get all the screws out except the one at the top that holds the jack/speaker/antennae in place (the thread was pretty much ruined). Since I'm replacing the top piece anyway, I took one of those small knives (exacto-knife?) and started digging away under the screw and that made it loose enough to remove. Excellent video by the way, you covered every part and reason for replacement. One more subscription for you sir.

It worked! Just gently peel off the two soft key connectors attached to the old digitizer. (Try to remember not to destroy them when removing the old digitizer) and stick them on the new one remembering to line the connections up properly.

Thank you for the reply. I have had it repaired and have since bought an otter box so I don't have to go through that again. I sent it in to Samsung. Since the glass wasn't cracked (I put the new screen on over the broken cable) it was still under warranty and they sent me a new one. I never paid for the warranty so I got lucky :)

Thank you very much for this very clear step by step tutorial. I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 that's been in our office filing cabinet for about 6 months. Almost new! But unfortunately when you try and turn it on - nothing. Try to charge it - nothing. Completely dead and no signs of life. Tried 2 chargers (one I know works), etc, all the usual stuff like take out battery, hard reset, but nothing! This was the last resort - did it all, but no luck! Brilliant vid though :)

I have a GREAT situation here. I have 2 S3: one has the broken LCD and the other works great, besides it cant see the simcard. I bought a new sim tray and... the problem still there. I thought that could a problem at the mother board so, switched motherboards. That one for the "broken LCD"'s one works great but... guess what? The problem was still there! Well 3 Sin Tray x 2 motherboard. I made ALL combinations between them and at ALL says the same! I made factory reset on both! New APN... BTW, the simcard works normal at my wife's Iphone and also at my friend's S3 Mini... That a good question, I guess! :D Many thanks in advance!!! ;)

I recently somehow managed to have the thing in my jacket pocket with the cable plugged in and went to get out of the car yanking on the cable quite nicely which caused the socket to become loose with each connection. 20 bucks on eBay and this video and 10 minutes of my time should have it right as rain.
