I show you how to insert the micro sd card and format it in the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8. Note the max recommended micro sd card size is 1TB. Hope this helps.

How did you pop that SD holder out with the pin? My holder will not budge a micrometer so I can grab it? I am too afraid of pressing to hard and damaging the holding tab or impaling into the electronic guts or battery.

My only (very, very minor) complaint is that I ordered this in bronze and they sent me black. Yes, it should have been corrected, but we were only in country for a short period of time and I didn't want to run the risk of not getting a new one in time. I'm such a fan of Samsung Galaxy tablets that I'd rather suck it up than lose out on having it. In the big scheme of things, this rates an irritant factor of .0000000001 out of 1000. In other words, I'm not looking at the colors when I use it, so I got over it very easily.

I've been having trouble putting my SIM into my Samsung galaxy A8 tablet this looks just like mine but my tablet is new just brought it the screen say's Welcome an Start apps are on the screen so once I put the SIM in should I be able to see the apps to start activating my tablet

Thanks for this. My new Tab A8 is just bit different for this process. Once inserted and in the Battery and Device care screen, I didn't have the three dots to access the SD Card. I just had to swipe left from the internal storage screen. The three dots on the SD screen is where the format option was.

Does the sd card "merge" with the onboard memory so apps can run off of it. On my current tablet the sd is separate and lots of apps can't be "moved"

Sim and SD cards aren't swappable. You need a microSD card for this.

The A8 recognizes the SD, but doesn’t use it. I wiped the tab, reinstalled-still, no go.

Sim cards and SD cards aren't swappable. For storage you need a microSD card. As for whether your tablet will take a sim card, it will if your tablet is the LTE variant. No on the wifi-only one. That goes for both the 2019 and 2022 versions.

The sd-card is meant to store files, not applications. I reccomend moving already existing files to your sd card

The enclosed tool wouldn't eject the SD card tray. Crazy. I had to use the tool from a phone, as this video shows.

Can it be any brand SD card, or does it have to be a Samsung SD card ? I'm not very techy, serious question. Reason I'm asking is my A8 tablet has on 64 gb. I saw a Samsung SD card with 512 gb. But I see brands I've never heard of with 1tb SD cards . Would the other brands be compatible with my tablet ? I'd really appreciate anyone's input.

I've had 785 phones plus my family , why is it when I need this little tool I can never find one. So I take a paper clip (If plastic coated) use bic lighter burn off coating, then I pit little pin in vise. If in hurry I get the BLACK AND DECKER (LOL) not really power sander and drind it down or small file will work, . After curseing and throwing things I usuelly get it in. LOL

The difference between memory size as advertised and what a machine reports is not because there are files on it. The differences are related to marketing. Marketing calls 1,000,000 bytes a megabyte (1,000,000,000 = gigabyte), but machines are binary. A megabyte to a computer is 1,048,576 bytes. So, if you buy a memory card with 1,000,000,000,000 bytes (1 terabyte) and install it in a computer, the device is going to report 931.3225746 gigabytes because of the binary/decimal differences in measurement.

Take out sd card then reinsert it… sometimes rubbing pencil eraser on metal contact if sd card helps. Also possible ur sd card is corrupted u can check my inserting in another device or phone.
