Galaxy Watch Active 2 paired with an iPhone 

Bro can we add offline mp3s directly from iphone to that? If yes, then how? (Tell me also if there is the need to download some app.)

That’s why I bought one because my wife hates the square Apple Watch design. But man apple products have continuity like none other. Samsung has come a long way but you still get bloatware on your new phones and I still don’t like androids non intuitive layout. I have used both platforms extensively

Yup I don’t like rectangle watch, but I don’t like the galaxy Active 2 design as well. So, I bought a fossil gen 5 smartwatch which runs a wear os by google

It works with Spotify and you can even listen offline if you download your songs to the watch (I think you need premium tho)

I think the picture to watch face feature is if you have a Galaxy phone, but I might be mistaken. I agree with you about switching up devices and I wish the Apple Watch worked on non iPhone devices too.

Tech Jungle I simply want to use it for the sole purpose to do workouts/fitness and later on while buy an android but to me the 44mm Bluetooth is better for me in this case, but is there other watches that are used for fitness than the Active 2?

I think the two main watches outside of the Galaxy Watch and Apple Watch are the Fitbit and TicWatch. I haven’t used either but I’ve heard they are decent alternatives.

If you get the LTE Galaxy watch can’t you send texts and make calls without any phone? You do need an modern android for the initial setup but then you can send texts and make calls with the watch, correct?

Thanks! I’ve been looking for Apple Watch alternatives just to test out how well they pair up with an iPhone. The Galaxy Watch is a pretty decent companion. I just wish I could respond to notifications directly from the watch.

If I connect a Samsung Watch to my iPhone, and I play music in native iTunes/Music App, I won't be able to skip songs or do music control via the Active watch? This is kind of like the onyl feature I care about on buying a new smartwatch. I don't want the Apple Watch because I'm not a fan of the rectangle, but because the phone I use for workout music and just music in general when walking around in publc is my iphone (I have two phones I carry with me, I don't use the Note 8 for music playback), I'd like to be able to control the music with the watch rather than the airpods or pull the phone out. I don't necessarily need to toggle through the library, just skip forward, skip back, etc.

@@completely1cky483 I went with garmin venu. Battery lasts 8 days. Can control music while I'm working out. Volume, and skip and go back. Plus it can track my workouts. iWatch and Galaxy you have to charge almost every other day.

As much as I love the galaxy watch, being an iPhone user it was hard to not want an Apple Watch because of its overall functionality in communication with the phone.

10 month old comment, but I fully agree. The Samsung watch can do basically everything the Apple Watch can except respond to notifications. But to be honest responding to notifications on a fucking watch is miserable. Just having the ability to read them is enough for me.

Yes it does give you the notification that someone is calling and you can even answer or ignore the phone call on the watch, but you have to use the phone to talk.

You can have most of these on apple watch faces. Temp showing low and high for the day aswell, moon info, sunrise and sunset, etc.

Lte Version you don't need the phone, Bluetooth is just like a Bluetooth headset you move too far you won't be able to take the call

Not true. You can take calls and make calls

You can review most of an iMessage text except for media files like gifs and pictures.

How do you setup your watch so that you receive iMessage texts on your watch?

Yes you are, you have to connect twice Once you first connect to your phone, you have to try to make a phone call using the watch. Then you will receive a fail notification on the watch. After go to your phone Bluetooth setting, and you should see another galaxy watch that you can connect to, click it and you can now make calls.

It’s not supported, even for strictly notifications due to the software iOS uses can only link to other iOS devices. It sucks.

I didn’t notice text messages not coming through. Which phone are you using?

Tech Jungle I have the same problem. I have an iPhone 7 and do not receive text messages. Nor do I know how to block certain apps, such as gmail or FB. HELP!
