@@SmokeFFM Very much not true, at least not across the board. Paid $253 for my Watch 6 Classic a year ago, Samsung is giving $350 for trade in value now - zero chance I'm pocketing anywhere remotely close to that selling private party. And sure there's some gaming they're doing as they often give a better trade in value when they're upselling you on model, but the point remains the same. While your point is accurate at times, my $237 after taxes Ultra is clear proof that it's not always.
@@BarryAllen0019 Plus, on fleabay you're gonna have ~15+% in selling & shipping fees, dragging that $250 down even further. And even all of that is really really pushing it when reputable sites like Swappa have mint Watch 6 Classic's for ~$210 give or take. Bottom line is $350 is a crazy fair trade in value for the 6 classics.
I had a galaxy watch with the rotating bezel and it was a terrible idea because moving parts is always a bad idea. the digital crown is the only acceptable moving part
For those who are saying that the Galaxy watch ultra is a copy of Apple's Watch Ultra, search the Samsung Gear Sport. It looks exactly like that. If anything, it looks more like a Panerai Radiomir. The orange band is from garmin, and the button is from Apple, though.
Color scheme is a copycat, but if you truly knew technology, you would know Samsung had 4 generations of SQUARE watches. Do MORE research and you'll find that this Ultra design is how the Gear Sport looked when Samsung was starting to transition to round watches!!! DO SOME RESEARCH!!!
Samsung used an orange band on the Galaxy Gear Sport in 2017. Apple doesn't rule the color orange. Buttons are buttons look similar on many watches on the market. Garmin also has used orange bands and orange accents, so no coping is done here by Samsung. I agree with you that people need to do their research before posting and commenting. A lot of channels start out with a crazy rant, then start to bash product, just for the clicks.
Man, Samsung Ultra looks awesome. Samsung was the first out with the square watch back in 2013 then Apple copied Samsung with their square watch in 2015. The Galaxy Ultra has now combined the round with the square back to increase battery size and added buttons ect. The Ultra looks so much more rugged than the Apple Ultra.
@@lesleyhaan116 I am comparing Samsung watch to Apple watch here, no others. Samsung had a square watch years before Apple followed with their square watch. Google it. Time for Apple fans to research before commenting. Go check out this video. Channel TechTalkTV and watch Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra - This is Getting Ridiculous.

Dockbc is comparing Samsung to Apple. I did Google search, and yes, Samsung had a rectangle design before Apple did. Very sad people don't Google before commenting. Have a good rest of your day. @lesleyhaan116
@@crackerjack339Yes, I feel people are forgetting about a time when Apple phone users didn't believe in overly large phones. The ( jumbotron) memes we're out of control. Now they had forgotten that Samsung was the first one to square off their watches before Apple. The bias is real! 🤣
As an old fart, I am interested in the AGEs sensor, the BP monitoring, and the ECG. I also like big watches. Plus living in Western Colorado, the dust resistance is a plus.
We know the design been around but Samsung did in fact copied apple.. because they follow apple a year later.. if Apple had a different design, Samsung would've have a very similar design...
I have Galaxy watch 6 classic and a Google pixel fold. I have found no loss of functionality between the two pieces of hardware despite different OS. Android works fine with Android in my experience
There is a Special Category of Premium Watches Called Cushion Case Watches. It’s Good to See Samsung bring that Design Language to their Ultra Series. 😊👌🏼
I just ordered mine - and subsequently found out that the new Watch 7 series does NOT support reverse charging from the phone (S24 Ultra) and they highly recommend only to use the original charging puck and not the older pucks from like Watch 6 Classic (which I'm trading in) - due to heating issues - Not sure if this is really an upgrade ?!? 🤔 but I got an amazing deal which was hard to pass up . . . we'll see when I get it in my hands 🤲
This ultra watch isn’t as waterproof as some are reporting. This is straight from Samsungs website… “Consistent with 10ATM waterresistance classification (up to 100m of fresh water for up to 10 minutes) and IP68 rating (up to 6 feet of water for up to 30 minutes). Rinse residue / dry after wet….” You’re not diving in the ocean with this watch or swimming in a pool for hours with this on.
The watch 7 Ultra looks nice but I only have one question does it get overheat during calls and shut down this has been a bug for the watch series the last past years LTE versions shut down during calls
What a strange complaint: "digital crown is not work, this is downgrade". This is not AWUltra! Why ewerything spinning around Apple? This is ridiculous.
Why can't Samsung make just a slightly smaller ultra for small wrists??? Garmin does it with several of their premium lines, but I want a smart- AND fitness watch so I don't have to drag my (stupid too big Samsung) phone with me all the time. I hate having to settle for second best all the time or wear a giant watch that bounces on my wrists and sucks at HR tracking.
As someone who is in saltwater almost everyday, and get covered in dirt/fish/jellyfish slime/oils/ and just nastyness. I prefer not haveing a rotating bezel. I traded my 5 pro for the 6 classic and the bezel gets gummed up very easy for anything super dirty. Getting the watch ultra for that reason mainly. Hoping its easier to see out on the water too as I actually am required to have a watch for things we do.
You're wrong on battery life. Per the info in their ads, in standard operating mode with always on display enabled you'll get 60 hours, with always on display off you'll get up to 80 hours. The 48 hour figure is while exercise tracking in low power mode.
I noticed that as well and I can attest to this with my almost 2 year old Galaxy 5 Pro: AOD off, WiFI Off/Auto, little/minimal exercise tracking, 7-8hrs of sleep tracking will net me 70-80 hrs of battery life. With AOD on and more exercise tracking, it will go down to about 40-50 hours of battery life. Different watch faces can also affect battery life, especially if you have AOD on.
There is no winner between the Galaxy watch ultra and the Apple watch ultra. It comes down to desirability and ecosystem preference. If you are on Android but don't like Samsung, I would recommend that you wait for the Pixel watch 3 to come out. If you need the ruggedness, get a Garmin watch and you won't regret it
If they would have made the action button also act like a rotating crown, that would have been awesome. A touch rotating bezel is just dumb on this kind of watch
Yeah but he also was using it when the Samsung watch was at 5% battery which if you've own Samsung phones, tablets etc when they get to that they lag a lot, I didn't see what battery the Apple watch ultra was at
@@micaeldeprez3091I mean, the features on this model are definitely optional for most. Higher chances he won’t be in line. I feel him. The thing that made Samsung wearables not just good, but also fun, is the rotating bezel. I would have never been interested in them otherwise and it’s a huge miss. Especially considering they could have gotten away with $799 with it.
as a samsung guy i must agree, i loved apple watch ultra design since day 1.... it looks like those old tech 80s 90s sci fic futuristic devices we seen on movies and japanese animes, i pretty sure dragon ball bulma had similar device back in early 90s animation
Samsung really isn't shy of blatant copying. I mean anyone with eyes can see that this is a rip-off of the Ultra. Orange accents, the bands, the customisable action button, the 85 db siren. Shameless copying lol.
@@JP-tb8pq lol you think the gear and the Apple Watch Series 1 are similar? They look very different to me. Are you actually saying that you don’t think the GWU is a blatant ripoff of the AWU or are you just trying to excuse it?
The Apple watch is more fluid because it's the better option. I have an Apple watch and a Galaxy watch 6 and the apple watch just better. It had nothing to do with the galaxy watch being low on battery lol.
"A cushion case is a type of watch case that is normally square or rectangular in design, with softly rounded corners that resemble a cushion. Cushion case designs have been used in watchmaking since the early twentieth century." - Rubberb You're welcome for the education.
I hope that the upcoming Apple Watch Ultra is as good looking as this. The squary shape reminds me of Panerai. And Samsung’s 100 hour battery life vs AWU’s 36 hour (at most 60…?) is impressive. Oh competition is so good.
I'd like to see a direct comparison of the Samsung Ring to the Oura Ring.I am an Oura subscriber, and I love it! I am not a fan of watches. I am considering getting my kids the Oura ring, but given the included subscription for fitness tracking, the Samsung product offers a one-and-done purchase. It seems to me that Oura has been in this form-factor space longer, and their support is great. The app interface is really attactive. Their build quality is also great. Is the Samsung product worth considering, given that Oura has both an excellent track record and build-quality history.

@@davidniositech I have the Pixel Watch 2. It stays in a drawer because it's so bad. It's too small for a man, the bezel is HUGE, the speaker is awful, very few watch faces, battery is poor, bit worst of all is the activity tracking. The GPS is the worst I've ever used. Every single run and walk I did the GPS signal was lost halfway and never recovered resulting in a straight line to my finish point. I've read lots of other people with the same issue so not a faulty unit. The design is nice but that's all. Pixel Watch 3 will just be the same cos Google just don't care enough to fix everything wrong with it and the bezel is only 1mm smaller so much the same. There's a reason it came free with the Pixel 8
I like the watch, but without a rotating bezel for control, is a loser. Similarly, if I can't change to a leather watch band (I'm allergic to silicone), it's a no-go, too. I'll stick with my Watch 6 Classic, which I love.
So lets all be honest it is a copy of the Apple Ultra, and I love that watch (avid Samsung user) and always wanted Samsung to do something similar. It is pretty ugly. the previous Samsung watches were way too slow compared to Apple, and for me this is a deal breaker. The sleep apnea feature is pretty epic though.
Hands down the Samsung product is a much better investment, purely because of Samsung Health. I discovered low oxygn levels overnight whilst using a Samsung 6. This led to a diagnosis for OSA and I genuinely believe I'll live longer because of this watch. The fact that Samsung is investing more in its own Health software with Ultra 7, is great news for me. Confession time: late last year I moved from Samsung to an Apple 15 Pro Max and an Ultra 2. I stuck with it for 4 months before switching back to Samsung and a Watch 6. Whilst Apple product flowed better in some ways, I really missed Samsung Health.
This is not a copy of Apple watch. Some inspiration but the design is a succesor to the "Gear Sport" which I happened to have. I'm definitely getting this.
Sadly, I love the circle design of my Galaxy Watch 5 Pro and am not a fan of this squircle design. I'm hoping Samsung doesn't stick with this and the Airpods-like stem design for future generations.
I disagree with your statement about Orange ring on the button. It is not influenced from apple. Because as we know, life vasts are Orange. So Orange is a great colour especially for water works, so dont depend everything on apple.
The accuracy of the galaxy watch your is very low compared to other brands that cost must cheaper. If accurate readings and tracking matter to you consider the Apple Watch lineup as they are above 90% accurate in real world testings. Galaxy still has a long way to go
I feel like android-based products will always fall short so long as they use java-based programming languages. It's known that Swift is simply faster so they can do more with less meaning the hardware can be equal but it will never perform quite like Apple products will and until this detail is changed Android will always be second place. I'm saying this as an Android user but it's a reality we all have to face.
Am I the only one who thinks the Galaxy watch ultra looks fugly?? I was expecting a square display. In terms of usability, apps, and looks, Apple Watch has got it beat. Samsung needs to fully revamp their watches
@APerls Waterproof, yes, for up to 30 minutes at 1.5m, but ANY IP68-rated Smartwatch can do that. This is an ULTRA watch attempting to compete with the Apple Ultra Smartwatches. Apple ULTRA can be used for diving to depths of 40M, and they have a great dive app. As I said, disappointing.
Funny thing is, I own over 60 time pieces, you know what they all have in common? they all have straps, most of them are round faced.. They look like wrist watches, really not sure how your supposed to get a design without being influenced by the competition. Everything is going to have similarities.... It's really not that big a deal. No one is forcing anyone to buy anything. You either want it or you don't.
I'm a Sammy fan but this design is not it and I also dislike when brands add bright colors on a performance/flag ship product. It just doesn't work for me and I like my performance/flag ship products be badass looking.
Apple Products look great in my experience user experience is another issue entirely. Whereas Samsungs just work seamlessly with 90% of the sex appeal 😂
Wow, samsung, taking that 2017 galaxy watch sport design is the right move 100%. Great job Samsung 🔥🔥🔥. Please look up yall history before trying to say that Samsung is copying apple. Samsung is copying Samsung from 2017 and that right there is the right move.
Samsung should've ditches that crown 👑 bezel and made the ⭕ inside of the panel of the watch, that really limited their screen size range. Love the bigger battery but that is why you still get top dollar for the 5 pro. Man a dual display would've shut Apple up. Why do we still have 2g of ram on an android watch 🤦🏾. Thanks for the vid.
@@SaintxReborn not sheep just realistic, I just dumped my 15 Pro Max and my Apple watch Ultra for the new Samsung stuff and god it so refreshing. And now that Apple is finally playing ball with the rest of the world and adopt an RCS there's literally no advantage to being on Apple, like zero Apple will be a cheap knock-off of an Android in the future
Who started the "ultra" naming for their devices! Will Apple be copying Samsung when they come out with their Ultra Iphone, Ultra iPad or Mac! I can see Apple doing this in the future to match everything up with their line./ultra watch i have been an Apple and Samsung fan boy a long time.... I rock both, and love both companies... I am like Flossy Carter.... LOL
I think it's just ugly. But again, I think the Pixel Watch is the most beautiful smartwatch. I like clean and minimal designs. This is the complete opposite. Thr Apple Watch Ultra is also rugged and big but much cleaner design.
What does it mean to say "cant control UI like apple" ? , influenced by apple ultra?.. Copycat? Heard about the galaxy gear sport?.. I dislike reviews from apple fan boys.
I dived into the Apple ecosystem 9 months ago coming from the Samsung ecosystem, believe me, you’re not losing much. Samsung should really improve the chip in their watches because they’re incredibly laggy. The 2 things I miss from my galaxy watch 5 are WhatsApp (they have an app for the watch which works great) and the RU-vid music app which lets you download songs straight in the watch and leave your phone at home, even the Bluetooth only model. I can’t do that on my AW series 9. On the other hand, Siri is far superior than bixby in my experience so I can get lots done with voice control (groceries list, reminders, searches, starting workouts). I like Samsung and Android in general but I get why Apple is so popular and some people never leave them.
Wrong, apple has 64gb storage and why has now on my 4th galaxy watch ultra video no one has said anything about the bezel being able to rotate for navigating the UI, does it even move, no one, really!!! 🤔🙄
VAT I think. In the UK, tax is included in the final price whilst in some US states it isn’t until you go to checkout. So, it may say $799 but will actually be $850-$900 once tax is added.
