The playful rhythm section, the bass having its parallel concert at the back, the melody floating over it all...if I could go to a world of fantasy, I would be a king and this is what I would require of the court musicians at every happy event
Galliano and Marsalis are both such universal musicians, gufted to take music to wide horizons. I had the honour to speak to Galliano after a conncert in Perpignan. Like all great people, very kind and available. His concert was with a group of Spanish gypsies. The next day he was on his way to the Montreux Festival. Occasionaly he comes to Perpignan to give lessons at the Conservatoire. Listen to the Sachal orchestra of Pakistan. We are in truely rich musical times - no limits.
hommefriday Thank you for your comment. I have been an admirer of Wynton Marsalis for some time . New to me is Galliano . I love his happy spirit and wonderful vibe. And the two do play together beautifully. I first heard them together on La Vie En Rose.❣️❣️❣️

Quite right, but sung by Édith Piaf, it reached the heavens. Gracias Argentina. You Knox the French song "Les Feuilles Mortes " is always presented by the title " Autumn Leaves " whose English lyrics are quite plain compared to the French original ones.
The original name of this song is: "Que nadie sepa mi sufrir". Edith Piaf paid someone to write French lyrics for her after hearing the original at a concert in Buenos Aires. Giving only the name of the copy and not mentioning the original smacks of cultural appropriation.
