American here. Very true. The apple juice on the shelf is not great apple juice. Very cheap in America. The Lotions and soaps are bought cheaply in bulk because they make so much of it for the American grocery stores they throw it out or sell it to someone else and buy new lotions and soaps. The chips on the shelf might be expired but have a seal on them so they may taste ok In the begging there is cookies on the top shelf that are British Imports to America sent to Gambia so it travelled across the ocean twice. All of the canned goods appear ok if you cannot easily get fresh vegetable but it is GAMBIA there is plenty of vegetables. Noodles in a cup are always good for a quick meal just add some other ingredients like fish or hot peppers. I work at the store that makes the paper towels. The coconut water is made in mexico and is delicious.

It's a global problem. Not just Gambia.

The import tax here is too high so it reflects on the prices of goods

The price is ok it is the same price here.if he wants to sell it for less then there will be a lost to him.

Thanks for giving insight on how it cost over there but remember the cost of shipment and import tax is too high in the Gambia. Have you factored that? Don't you think it justifies the price difference?

​@@NiceGambia I get your point. I know the owner has the right to price his product whatever he wishes. My only concern is , given the economy and living standards of the people the people back home, would the ordinary Gambian be able to afford them?

It's made there with no shipment cost and importation tax added to it. I guess you need to try importing stuff to Gambia and check for yourself how high you pay for shipment and import tax.
