What are your thoughts on Gambit?!

So glad Gambit has come out so well. He is my favourite Marvel character. I even named my son Remy after him. Can't wait to pick him up.

It would have been sweet if they made him into a dexterity game where you physically had to toss cards onto the villian 😂

Not gonna lie, that was a slick Worm display at the beginning, very nice 😸

I think the difference in why you find the preference for Aggression over Protection is that other heroes are also very good at the style of protection that Gambit excels at. Only Ms. Marvel can bring out the ridiculous damage numbers of multi-hit attacks the way that Gambit can.

Great video! Love the enthusiasm, can tell how much you like Gambit! It's hard to rank how the aspects run with him, he is so good in all of them! Personally I think Protection is actually his worst aspect - though still great for him. Protection can't do any of its defensive stuff when alter-ego, so going alter-ego shuts that down for a turn. And if you instead don't go alter-ego, you miss out on Creole Charmer etc! Now you do miss out on his Armor and Staff's abilities when you go alter-ego already no matter your aspect, but no other aspect revolves around the villain's activation. I can play Aggression attacks no matter whether I start in hero or alter-ego form, I can flip or delay flipping and play it as needed. I can play Justice thwarting events no matter where I start too. The same for allies in Leadership. Only Protection builds into something that won't always be available unless you ignore a strong part of his kit. But he can defend really well and still do incredible damage. So that's amazing. I still think he's great in Protection, it's just the one aspect I see with an actual flaw. I like Leadership with him because of Rogue. His signature ally is easily the #1 best signature ally in the game. If you play her for 0 and just thwart, that's a 0-cost card for 8 thwarting. Or 8 damage should you have her attack. That's silly. And both Pixie and Med Lab are easy ways to recur Rogue alongside Mutant Education/X-Men Instruction. The attacks in Leadership aren't so hot - but you don't really need them when his signature kit already comes with loads of great attacks. Leadership is, as always, Leadership - it's just so good in every way.

I’m so glad to see that Gambit is very good. He’s my brother’s favorite hero and I know he’s going to be excited to play him through Mutant Genesis.

With ways to mitigate flipping to alter-ego, he sounds like a blast to play in aggression. You get to do what you want then flip down to heal and remove threat.

Love the opening card tricks! Also, I’m biased to Justice is my favorite build! Also there’s something special about charging his staff!

So Perfect Defense, On Average, 2 boosts come up approx 30% of the time and 3 boosts approx 10% of the time. So vs 3 atk villains, 5 defense is kind of where you want to be to perfect defend, tho 6 is even safer. That is to say, 4 defense isn't quite good enough imo on expert. But of course there are a number of ways to get there. Honestly, in your prot game, I thought you had too much defense. Because Gambit's Guild Armor gives you readies, you can actually use Judoka Skill and/or energy Barrier and straight up skip the defense events if you wanted (Tho Not Today, is really good in solo). I do think Prot is really strong, although it somewhat clashes with his AE stuff, particularly his AE thwart. As for Justice, I ran a mission training deck and it was super powerful. Would probably be overkill as you said in solo, but in 2p but it was really strong. Super cool hero and great video.

They announced Gambit back in October and we are getting him just recently. But I haven't heard nothing from FFG about what's next for MC. I tried looking online for something but can't find anything. It's just really odd, especially when usually they would give us teasers months in advance for everything else.
