There’s absolutely no way you have an edge like that and only take away 20k a year lmao I get why he’s lying though he can’t say or the government will take his money.
@@whydouneedakno is this your first time hearing about this? He ruined the integrity of the league for many years after he was caught and screwed a franchise out of the NBA title.
you shouldve seen todays Lakers Rockets game 4...... Lakers 16 free throws and james harden alone fucking 20. Couldnt prevent rockets from getting destroyed but still lmao
@@12poopie Free throw count is a lazy way for people who don't watch to cry wolf on game rigging. It makes claims without evidence lose credibility. Stop that.
A lot of people are missing the main point of this whole situation. Yes, Tim was wrong to bet on these games, that is obvious, but according to Tim’s story, he was NOT in charge of how they were calling the games and deciding on who was covering the spreads, he was simply enforcing what the league officials were telling him to do and he was just following orders from the top. They missed a lot of good questions in this interview such as what the specific orders were, what games, and what Tim’s thoughts were on the current state of the NBA and if/how these orders given to officials influences the action that we watch today.
Yup and as someone who was a fan of NBA back then, I believe every word. The league had strict rules for playoffs, and wanted certain games to go certain ways... It was wayyyyy deeper than the refs. Early 2000's were some shit years for NBA playoff basketball.
My first Pacers game I was only 4 so I don't remember much but my first real game was in 2011 against the Knicks and first thing I saw when we got to our seats was Rasheed Wallace shooting jumpshots and a couple trainers with him. Melo didn't play great that game he had like 14 points and Pacers won by like 25
Refs on every level are pressured to manipulate games. Blame the coaches, parents, players and powers that be. When your a skilled player you learn how to know the flow of the refs.
There is no reason to believe that this stuff still doesn’t happen today... The refs that are involved in it are probably just way more careful about it. Not betting noticeable amounts, just a nice side thing for them you know? No doubt in my mind tho.
It's interesting to me how he still acts like he never point shaved once and in fact he really only used his "inside information" and that knowing "certain calls on certain guys" will literally dictate the outcome of every single game come on Tim the players will decide most games in spite of the officials unless you are point shaving
MrItstime2win I wanted to know too, I was just gonna comment on here for someone else to tell me but I just googled it and it’s called Inside Game and it came out Nov. 4th so it should still be in theaters. Just wanted to pass that along to you.
Michael B what a joke? Bro he can’t tell the truth. If he did the government would take all his money. You’re the joke for thinking anyone would tell the truth.
I don't understand how I didn't hear of this until now. Not that I've been the biggest NBA fan the last few years. haven't been following it super close but I would have thought that I'd hear about something like this especially when I've had suspicions about this type of stuff since the Sacramento Kings got royally screwed. I'm sure the NBA is happy that this type of thing is not getting tons of exposure. I mean if it is I figure I'd have heard about it. I dont follow the NBA as closely as some people but I definitely check in on it from time to time. Seems as if they paint this guy is like a lone wolf or an outlier or that's what they want to do but no this thing was all the refs. They knew what the hell was going on and they had certain refs for certain shit that would cheat more than others I cannot believe that this type of thing doesn't still happen or easily could. really lowers my trust level even more than it already was. Well kind of but not really cuz it was already a low trust I guess it's just confirms what I've been thinking for a long time and why I kind of did stop following the NBA as closely. EDIT: I did hear about this back in the day when it happened given that this video is only a year old I thought it was something that happened recently as in within the last year. I still you Don't see much about this and I think it's obvious why you don't and won't.
Had he just played it straight he had 1 of the greatest gigs in the world. A career of reffing in the NBA you are going to be a multi millionaire with a helluva pension I am assuming.
After watching stewards rig horse races daily this is honestly not a big deal. Why do you think only five percent of bettors actually make a profit. Most have a edge going into whatever they are gambling on.
Refs still gamble today and there is no way to even know if it is occurring. No way that games meet the lines right on target if it wasn't occurring. Yes analytics help with it a little but you have no clue what is and isn't happening
Why would he still be gambling? The only reason he made money was because he had inside information. Unless he was still friends with referees and obtaining information, there's no reason for him to throw money away... Plus the FBI is probably monitoring all his bets too...
NBA fans are sooo dumb that they think this guy was the only one that fixed games when in reality, every ref fixes games, this guy was just the fall guy becuz he bet on the games... Joey Crawford and Scott Foster are known to fix games, it is no coincidence that Joey retired the same year Kobe did... Every time LA was in a must win game in the playoffs, Joey was there reffing it and favoring the Lakers
@@FLAchilles stfu Dumbass. It doesn't matter what team I like. I didn't say only the cowboys get screwed. Clean your ears out and wash your glasses. The NFL is rigged through officiating. It's not that hard to figure out. Learn the rules and study the game. You will see it 2
Maybe, but basketball is inherently a way easier sport to fix than football. If anything you’re dealing with 10 players on the court vs. 22 players on the field in football.
NBA fans also think the refs pick and choose who they want to win, hahahaha if that was the case, why doesnt any of the refs ever get fired... It is because they are following the script given to them by the League... The NBA is the exact same product as the WWE... Remember John Cena's monologue from the ESPY's a few years ago when he said that the WWE is no different than sports, he wasnt joking like most clowns thought he was..
