It genuinely surprises me that Warlord could make the Ghurkas so strong but never rebalanced their points cost to reflect how strong the really are in this game despite the years of complaints by the community at large. They are easily a 17pts per model unit but cost the same as their equivalent in other armies (Moroccan Goumiers are 14pts each for Veterans with tough fighters, but they are not equivalent at all). At the very least I'd of expected their Scary Blighters rule would be changed so that it only works on activations the Ghurkas charged. Not something that works all the time. Every time I play against the British in this game the more I really do not like playing against them. They have far too many special rules and near broken combinations of rules that I feel like I'm playing 40k at its absolute worst when I play against them. Really hoping Warlord tones them down in the next edition because their bias towards the British in every game they have shows just a bit too much in Bolt Action for my liking..

Because tournament play where "anything goes" is a small (but important) part of the game. For wargamers, these things do not matter so much since they will be facing their historical opponents and you can only choose them in the correct theatres and in limited amounts. . But v3 may yet address this.

@@user-un8ug7lx6c perhaps, but even for the more casual gamers, the British are very over the top in the combinations they can achieve. I mean, a lot of their special rules have no downsides, be that because they aren't costed (in the case of Scary Blighters) or the rule quite literally has no downside to it. Vengeance, Rifle drill and Tough as Boots are probably the most balanced army rule the British have access to. At least they have something that reins them in.
