You should try the colle zukertort system. Works pretty well for someone that is starting off. It pretty much blocks most weird gambits. It seems a bit passive, but even some grandmasters can lose to it.
Try to avoid moves where you move the same piece a lot of times in the opening. It allows the opponent to develop more pieces than you whilst defending
That was an awful game by both sides. You really won't learn anything playing blitz. Try to stop playing c3 and Bc4. I told you this the other day. C3 is where your knight wants to go and Ba4 is the book response to a6. You seem hellbent on "breaking open the center" by like the 4th move. Breaking open the center isn't inherently good - it depends on a lot of stuff. Particularly who has more bishops. Get castled. Beyond that you missed a lot. He hung 2 pieces and you didn't notice.
