I'm a softie though, the only team I was genuinely laughing over beating were the Red Sox back in '86, with Wade Boggs crying in the dugout after the loss to our Mets. It was a great year, and baseball is an interesting sport. The phillies just went cold, I feel. I'm not a fan of the bye week for teams winning the division because of a series like the one with the Mets. I feel like a team not seeing live at bats can make them rusty. I saw that out of the phillies. The mlb should really think of a one and done wild card round. Have the best of 5 division series LCS and make the World Series a best of 7 series.

The team that won 95 games did not show up this series. Noticed a guy on the broadcast looking at his phone that was the twin of High Energy Shawn. I was yelling at the TV to take Hoffman out of there 2 batters before the grand slam. Not sure what they can do to fix this in the off season.

Another Mets fan here. I know the outcome wasn't what you guys had hoped for but just being able to hang with good friends and be there must have been nice. Phillies are indeed a good team but they peeked early whereas the last couple years they started slow and peaked at the right time. By the time the playoffs came around, you guys were basically a .500 team. Sort of happened to us in '22. By September we were just spent

in 2011 I used to post on the old phillies official forum and told people the team couldn't hit and would be "one and done" in the post season. I was laughed at...but I was proven right. This year I said the same thing, team can't hit, not guts, no drive. 97.5 laughed at me, WIP laughed at me. Guess what? I was right. This team has no locker room leader, no discipline, and they panic too quickly and too deeply in dire situations. No coaching, no leadership, poor contact hitting, no small ball ability. Garbage team.

The bullpen has been bad for the last few years. For decades the Phila have had a problem leaving guys on base. Now they go through stretches where nobody gets on base. They had great stretches, then long stretches when they forgot they're supposed to both hit the ball, and play defense, in the same game ....

This is what's wrong baseball, inferior teams getting hot at the right time and winning it all. Texas Rangers last year, most likely the Mets this year.

So crazy after a great season they played this series like that. Very poor performance. After my braves went out I was pulling for the phils.

I don't remember which professional player said this but it's true it sucks for baseball players to lose in the playoffs and yes there is next year but six weeks of preseason then 162'games season to get back into the post season players and fans by far have it the worse 😢 look at it this way captain the two wild card teams where good enough to win the division.
