Thank you for checking out my channel! The wire is optional but it is necessary to solder 1 wire if you want the button for brightness control to work. Some of the newer laminated ips screen come with an attached touch sensor for brightness control but they can be a little unreliable

I also lowkey broke the plastic on the hinge but it works perfect. I ordered a few replacements and it’s good as new

@@stinerivera2543 Soft rubber ; similar to the original screw covers

​@@GameBoyMart oh okay. Does the ips screen rattle inside the shell? Or it still needs the foam insert?

@@stinerivera2543 Foam insert is necessary unfortunately, unless you use some thin double sided to secure it to the front shell
