Would love to hear more about halo infinites narrative. As a big fan of the halo universe I had so many ideas for what could be in the game. For example, characters from the halo wars universe linking up with master chiefs story, or the return of the flood, etc. lots of fun ideas in that universe, it would be cool to hear about different ideas that were bounced around the team

I have a few questions for future videos. For you and Chuck Beaver, my question would be; How do you make a transmedia storyline that foreshadows and sets up game events without leaving behind audiences that haven’t engaged with the expanded universe? For example, Stross was introduced in Dead Space: Aftermath then later played a role in Dead Space 2. Was there ever a struggle finding a balance between referencing the movie without confusing people that hadn’t watched it? And on Halo’s side, how do you balance introducing new audiences and especially new mysteries to Zeta Halo-arguably the single most lore-heavy location in the franchise-while avoiding simply rehashing the lore and reveals from Halo: Primordium ten years earlier? (For the record, I think the Halo and Dead Space teams nailed that balance on both counts.) Another question I had was how the increasing development times for games has affected writing. Do you write a story and then wait a few years for the game’s development to complete, or is there constantly new ideas being added in as time goes on? With longer time periods giving audiences more time to reflect on previous entries, how do you balance responding to feedback while also not overcomplicating your narrative? And on a slightly different note, how do you balance taking audience feedback into account but also sticking to your guns and making the art that you want to make? To end this text wall with something not a question, I just want to thank you and Chuck Beaver both for sitting down and doing these videos. Being a writer is my dream job and has been since the first time I played Halo when I was a kid (my ultimate career goal is to someday work on Halo’s story, even if it’s just a tiny contribution). Unfortunately, for various reasons including chronic health issues, I can’t attend college to take writing classes which probably throws a wrench in a lot, but the advice you two give out in these videos is EXTREMELY helpful and has helped me improve my own writing a ton. Gives me hope I can figure out my own way to get into professional writing-maybe even getting to a point I can write a Halo novel or short story sometime down the line. So, thank you for always having really fun videos that are also super informative. Gives this girl some hope. Keep doin’ what you’re doin’! Your stories are amazing!

Fun discussion! I enjoy these dev conversations about the process of development that touches on both the large, small, the stories to even the "boring" business side which does in the end always throw a monkey wrench into the best laid plans. If you guys have more similar topics to talk about then go for it! And if you want to add another dev voice to the round table then that could be fun too!
