i finished playing Curse Of Strahd just yesterday. Was absolutely epic. And you're right, that Amber temple was so memorable. We even had a party member turn on us towards the end, having made a secret deal with Strahd. Loved it. Very well written and designed. Chris Perkins is so good at that.

I often get a little bored with them remaking Temple of Elemental Evil, Against the Giants, Ravenloft, Tomb of Horrors. There's already a deluge of reprints and Return Tos from 2E, 3.5 and probably 4th. I'd like to see new ground broken.

Well i think the next adventure they are printing takes place in a MtG realm called Zendikar. Which is a first in a number of ways, I'd rather they chose Ravnica personally, but it is something new, to D&D.

Spent the past month preparing to run this myself, it seems people across the board love it and from what I've read so far, my players wont be disappointed! Good review :)

DL1-4 Are amazing. I actually ran DL3 for my nieces as a standalone 5e game, my 10 year old niece rolled a neutral evil druid dragonborn (Draconian) as her first character, good times had by all. DL4 and the Dwarven "crossword" maps are a little silly in my opinion, but it still was fun to explore Thorbardin.

For a new campaign style update for a classic adventure, I have 3 I would love to return to. 1. The Slaver series. Suitably epic, especially the 4th module when you lose all of your gear and have to escape an island with an impending volcanic eruption. 2. The White Plume Mountain. Just one of the classics, and unlike most of the S series, actually survivable. 3. Expedition to the Barrier Peaks. Just imagine the campaign, the strange new monsters being found, and finally a push to see where they are coming from.

I would like to see them do the Desert of Desolation series. In 5e that could be pretty amazing. Although Dragonlance 5e might be pretty amazing

I agree, Desert of Desolation would be wonderful... I have the adventures on my shelf and loved running them.

And with Mulhorand in existence they could put the book there, even though I know they are going to focus on the Sword Coast,

TSR was a great game company.

TSR had great PRODUCTS... the company itself was definitely very terrible xD

You probably only have experience with Lorraine Williams era TSR. Gygax era TSR was awesome. It just got bought out by people who wanted to make a quick buck.
@Jayce_Alexander

Gygax-era TSR wasn't a great company, really, it was very unstable. Gygax was more gifted as a game designer than a businessman. TSR put out great products throughout the entirety of its existence though.
@LordSathar

Jayce Keep in mind it wasn't until Gygax was forced out of the company that things went bad.
@Jayce_Alexander

LordSathar That's not entirely true, TSR had MAJOR financial difficulties as early as 1983, two years before he was forced out. Due to this, Gygax and the Blume brothers actually dissolved TSR Hobbies Inc. that year, and split it up into four successor companies: TSR, Inc., TSR International, TSR Ventures and TSR Entertainment, Inc. People tend to make it seem like TSR was a picture of financial health until Gygax's ouster, but trouble actually began under Gygax himself. Moreover, TSR also had a number of financially successful years under Williams.

It didn't even occur to me that something was wrong when you said TSR. lol

I basically treat Strahd like I treat Gary Oak. Like 'oh great, it's this pain in my nuts again' kind of diminishes the spook level a tad, but let's face it it's the exact same function only more lethal to the characters.

2nd Edition Ravenloft memories - I was playing a Chaotic Neutral Dwarven Telekinetic. During a random encounter, the baddie got a random loot drop of a Sphere of Annihilation. I used my TK powers to push that thing into everything - and destroyed the DMs campaign. So the Mists came for me and this character was lost to the Mists forever. He's probably still there... Mwahaha!

Love watching your D&D and Pathfinder book reviews GM Kurt! Are we going to get a Storm King's Thunder and Volo's guide review in the future? I have them both and find them very enjoyable and just looking to see other opinions on them.

Hey, Kurt. Any chance for a review of the new Delta Green: Agent's Handbook from Arc Dream Publishing or the expanded Case Officer's Handbook when it comes out?

@sylvanvixen6887

it's an adventure. it isn't explicitly in the domains of dread per se, it could just be this random demiplane, it's meant to be a modern update of the original adventure in castle ravenloft, so this was before ravenloft existed as a setting, with that in mind it's a wonderful adventure that functions as a great intro to ravenloft for new players and a great nostalgic romp in what was (in 3rd edition) a very convoluted setting. this takes place before all of that and doesn't bring in the metaplot of the dark powers. however it would likely serve as a good intro adventure for a ravenloft campaign once the book for that is out. technically you could use it to run a barovia focused game

Oh, brother. Like that TSR "slip" wasn't totally planned. That was as fake as pro wrestling. And stop cussing in your videos, Kurt. You're a PhD, you should be setting an example for the youth out there. You don't sound hip going down that road.
