If I could retrieve any object from my childhood, it would be me and my sister's first edition PS2. We saved up for months for that thing and used it for games, CDs, DVDs... we loved it so much.

Man, they could get away with so much weird shit on the ps2. Especially in that day and age. I hope they return to the bizarre ps2 catalog again.

In retrospect, the PS2-era was the last time Sony made a genuine effort to release some of the crazy, niche, and esoteric titles that had previously been available in Japan only. Once the PS3 rolled around, that well dried up. Think of all the memorable JRPGs ATLUS released on the PS2. What was the craziest thing they pushed on the PS3? Catherine. It's a real shame Sony apparently gave up on the idea. Open-world Dark Souls, the Nth+1 iteration on God of War, and a COD re-release are great and all. But where are the lovingly made games about construction companies literally fighting for work in 1v1 vehicle fights?
