I know "Yes, that's the joke" but I want to say how much I appreciate this being put into the best phrasing of the exact reason it's so damn funny. Just the tiny nuance of the tone of how it was spoken instantly invents months and years of backstory where this editor-boss-person is just so fucking sick and tired of dealing with Peter's misguided work.
@@Lucifersfursona I didn’t even think about it. Like, the boss has been dealing with Peter’s nonsense for ages but (I like to think) he’s someone on the boards kid so he can’t be fired. I’m building a whole back story for Peter.
Like his boss knows how many times Peter has written self serving dialogue to boost his ego and he's just done with him at that point, that's the vibe I got. 😂
Danny's got a point-- to me, the 'funny part' is less from the actual Joke, and more from the way "[Arin] didnt SAY that it was cutting to a different scene, we just Instinctively Knew..."
Realizing just now the reason that part isn’t remotely noteworthy to me is bc system talks like that when we make jokes to each other all the time- shared headspace means the setup can happen way more quickly than speaking can. Incredibly charming to see two people who don’t literally share a braincell do it too 😂
RIGHT??? Like, I can so CLEARLY see the animated version of this clip, like with it being trained on Peter and the model lady, as it slowly zooms in on Peter's face... and then hard cut/snap zoom out to reveal the boss standing behind him like "Peter, what is this?"
I literally was so confused the whole time because first of all I thought this was a Spider-Man game and second of all I didn't get the scene at first bc I didn't hear everything they said 😂😅
@@izthisgaming1844It’s funnier if Jameson actually calls him Peter, because it’s like he snapped out of “boss” mode and is trying to have a man-to-man discussion with him.
It absolutely makes it way more hilarious that they don't even have to actually explain the scene for you to understand, you just instantly know that's his boss
Sometimes I cannot get over how effortlessly funny Arin can be. He just pulls out the funniest possible thing anyone could say without even thinking about it.
This is one of the funniest bits GameGrumps went with lol the amount of times I say this is way too many times me to work mate across the hall when we submit documents to each other, "Jessica, what is this?" 🤣
“That episode was so skibbity! I could really tell how dan was rizzing up his absolutely gorgeous kitten and smoochable lover…” Dan: Arin… What is this?
this and the jigsaw bit from this playthrough are my favorite bits from this playthrough which is saying something about because it's a hilarious playthrough with eldritch horror protagonist
omg I actually forgot that this is where "Peter what is this?" came from, they say it all the time now and I thought they were quoting Family Guy or something. Comedy gold.
