@@gannon3578 I guess it could have been a very decent action movie even independently from the Bruce Lee theme. The actor that replaced him had all the required qualities.
It’s a very James Bondian intro but then John Barry did compose the score. The movie is awful but I love the intro, if only Bruce had lived to finish the film, I think it would have been great!
Game of Death was my very first film i was sixteen, the lines were around the corner, this was 1979.i actually consider this film( the scenes done by Bruce) to be 97 percent better than most fite scenes today.guess because the action in here were done by real fighters& Bruce just gave us an extrodinary swan song before he passed.
@@Tuface_Killa97watch the new documentary. The LAST GAME OF DEATH. The footage consisted of 3 hours of unseen GOD footage. Robert Clouse only included 11 minutes. Maybe that time he had no idea what the footages were all a about.
and the fight between bruce and abdul, is probably the most iconic of his film career. its a shame bruce was taken from us at such an early age. he was a true legend
God this music is awsome. What a shame Lee never finished this movie. I think it would have been his best by far. The fight with Kareem is almost too cool for words.
Bruce Lee had a whole series planned in which Billy Lo was a james bond like character, instead of Gadgets he Would use martial arts. Hired by government agency's & As an actor (Billy Lo was an actor) Could disguise himself as any person as seen in game of death. Old man talking to his girlfriend, bearded guy following the evil boss. Bruce Lee was inspired by both James Bond & Enter the Dragon. He wanted to play a guy Who gets hired by government agency's & His skills were martial arts & Acting. And this was done by the guy Who did a few James Bond intro's john barry
I didn't ask what the movie was called. It may have 'game' in the title but the film itself has absolutely nothing to do with gaming of the gambling variety.
What a badass man 0:44 ... what a kind of look is this ? even in anime you will never see eyes like this .. R I P legend This intro is a homage to him .. sad .. and tragedy
This theme has the same feel as the theme john barry did for "on her majesty's secret service". That opening theme was accompanied by a montage of the previous james bond films, and this one showed scenes from bruce Lee's ptevious films.
I like the music 🎼. When I hear it I know I'm about to watch something great. The into music sends chills up my spine. It's good. I wish I knew how to play the whole song. It reminds me of when I lived in my parents house and I would wake up to hearing the sound of this music from the TV and I'd see my Dad's eyes 👀 glued to the TV screen. Lol. Fun times good times.
@@lstarrtna4288 the fight scene was alright I prefer to watch the original version better because it show the full fight and awesome dialogue between him and the fighter
In this movie there is much elements of James Bond serie : -The music realised by John Barry, -The presence of George Lazenby in a short scene, -The intro of movie looks at lot like a James Bond intro ...
@@sandipatterson6557 all person that see the movies of great Bruce be lived today, but, he live in each heart of many fans of this great actor and fighter of kung fu.
What scene is Lazenby in? I know he was supposed to star in the original version of this with Lee but I don't remember seeing him anywhere in the final product
sound like a tragic legend ! sounds like bragging and in the next part like like crying . you get the feeling right at the start of the movie , one of the best soundtracks ever . soundtrack to bruce lee's real live
Reminds you of James bond. But this movie kicked ass. I loved the tower fights but I also loved Bruce's double fight scenes. Especially his fight in the garden when he had that disguise and the warehouse fight was epic
Totally one of the Best introductions ever hands down I remember as a youth with all my relatives filling the theaters when this came out years ago totally Magnificent Bruce Lee is forever L0ve by everyone he's the greatest🔥❤😘😛🌵🌴
Appart from the genuine game footage this along with the end credits must be the only parts of the film that maybe even Lee himself would have been proud of.
This movie changed my life! I was just a young boy, merely a white belt. One night after practice my father n grandfather decided that I should have more 'martial arts' based films so they bought a few movies that they liked but bought 'Game of Death' for me... First time I have ever known about Bruce Lee and it was a lasting impression ...
The Musical score used to introduce this movie is legendary in itself. Excellent composition! A masterpiece!!! It’s heartbreaking that Bruce Lee died so young. He would have been a massive star!! He was just getting started!
Someday I hope a digital remastered version of this will be done with Bruce Lee's image imposed onto the actors that carried this film in his place, i liked the plot of this film.
Jim Kelly said in an interview that Bruce sparred with many of the best fighters of his time , including a man he would not name, saying Bruce could not be touched!
This would’ve been a Kung Fu classic if Bruce had finished it. I still loved it as a kid especially the pagoda fight scenes at then end. And then they released the deleted footage and it made the movie even more amazing

Seeing Gig Young in the intro always makes me sad. I was barely alive when this movie came out, so I had no way of knowing that he killed his wife and himself mere months after this movie’s release. It was the last movie of Gig’s career.
@@marcel0233Sorry for just now responding, but according to Wikipedia, no motive was ever discovered. There was no suicide note, just a diary opened to the Sept. 27 entry, which read, “We got married today.” The shootings happened on Oct. 19, 1978, just 3 weeks after the wedding. According to an employee at the apartment where Gig and his wife lived, he heard the shots around 2:30 that afternoon, and the bodies were found 5 hours later, both face down. Gig’s wife had been shot in the back of the head, and his own injury indicated that he had shot himself in the mouth, with the bullet exiting through the back of his head.
@marcel0233 I replied to this a few months ago, and either it didn't post or it was deleted for some reason. The short answer is no, no motive has ever been discovered. Most of this will come from Wikipedia, but it happened at their apartment on Oct. 19, 1978. The fact that are known are that a building employee heard gunshots around 2:30 that afternoon, and the bodies were discovered 5 hours later. The police determined, by the way the bodies were positioned, that Gig has shot his wife in the back of the head and then put the gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger. There was no suicide note, just a journal that was turned to the Sept. 27 entry, which read, "We got married today." Something Wikipedia doesn't mention, but that is mentioned on IMDB, is thar Gig's Oscar was also found near the bodies. Based on things I have read on Wikipedia and IMDB, I have some thoughts on what have been going through Gig's head, but since I have no way of knowing for sure, I will keep my thoughts to myself, unless you or someone else would like to read them. Either way, it's a terrible tragedy, and we will never really know why he did it.
He dicho my friends.
Here's a funny story. My dad hit me with a Bruce Lee DVD collection containing all of the 4 and a half films he did (GoD). I got through the Big Boss, Chinese Connection, Return of the Dragon, Enter the Dragon, and then I got to GoD. From the get go I knew something was off. Bruce Lee looked weird. His appearance kept changing. I saw scenes from previous films. He spoke fluent English and sometimes with a Korean accent. I was like WTF is going on? I get through the film and I was disappointed aside from the fight scenes that Bruce was in. I go to my parents room and they're cuddling and I explain to them what I saw and asked WTF was up with the last film. Did he make any more films after that? My dad looks at me with sadness and said that was Lee's last film. I balled my fucking eyes out that night uncontrollably. My parents held me in the middle to try and confort me. He was my hero. And that day, I lost him. Mind you he was long gone and this was nearly 20 years ago and I was like 7. Anyways, this guy gave us Asians a lot of confidence and hope.
@nikolaipakholuk I said STARRING Cast. Chuck didn't have a Starring Role in Game of Death. In fact he wasn't really in it all. They just used the footage from him and Bruce in their scene from Way Of The Dragon. His role, was more like a Cameo.
I was a lil kid when I first seen this and already. Old tell the difference from the stunt double and the real bruce , even with the stunt double this was and will always be my favorite Bruce lee movie
