I would LOVE for Season 2 to do "match poker" format. For those unaware it's like "Duplicate Bridge”. Basically teams are given the exact same hands, same flops same etc on different tables and then you compare the results between each team. So like, if there were 4 teams of 4, imagine each team member being in seat 1, 2, 3 and seat 4. Across the 4 tables. Then after X hands, count all the chips of each team and then rank the teams. It eliminates "luck" because if a cooler happens then each team would be on the positive and negative side of the cooler. I think Game of Gold is the first real format that could showcase this kind of format.
@@koreaforeva players are evaluated against others who held the same cards in the same positions, not against those at their table. so it reduces the role of chance.
I'm not a fan of reality TV shows, but man Game of Gold really showed me why people love reality TV shows. The drama, the dramatic score, various personal storylines and it was based around the beautiful game of poker. Which made it really fun to follow. I can see this show go mainstream on its own. But a celebrity of recs edition would easily catapult this show into mainstream.
Wow, yeah, some true celebrities are exactly what the show needs. They should still have the elite poker players there: Guys like Fedor, Negreanu, Koon, Ivey, Tom Dwan, etc., but the lesser players should be replaced by poker playing celebrities. Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, etc. That'd be how you send the views through the roof while still having great poker content in there as well.
I think with poker as its main theme helps a lot as the emotions of sweating a hand, getting bad beat or cooler is real for all poker players so they dont even have to create any drama or fake anything. Thats why its so good
I have been watching poker content since the mid-90s. Other than the joy of early Late Night Poker, this is my favourite show, mainly because of the absolutely brilliant editing.
It's crazy to say, but Fedor mummbling to himself for 5 minutes is some of the best poker content every produced. GoG crushed with S1. I got little tired of the sound effects (ie. when turned a card changed the leading hand), but that is such a minor complaint.
What a emotional reality TV show. I love the concept, that the main topic is poker, but I'd like to see more inexperienced poker player are included. Its more exiting to see such new faces, because they have to improve the game and gain experience. Aside from that its boring to see every time the same personalities and thats not what reality shows are made for( in my opinion). So, Im looking forward to seson 2 and I hope we get to see a lot of new poker players.😁
Only thing i didn't like about the show was the choice to use round 3 with Indian poker - i think there would have been quite a few other games to do that would have been more entertaining or required more skill. outside of that the show was magnificent!
Amazing show! A flipout in the end of this Behind the Scenes for one of them to participate in S2 would have been great!(or maybe even thinkabout a wildcard from GG?) For the next Season maybe consider not sending anyone home, the show gained so much from the Pros talking in the back room. It was incredibly enjoyable to watch them go crazy on each hand and at each other. There you missed some EV at the final stage of S1, but still very well produced and thought through. Im really looking forward to S2!
i wanted to hear what jungle had to say. you only did that cos he criticised the show. let him say his peace thats what we want to see as viewers. this show was so good because we met the characters it wasnt all about the cards. let him talk.
Poker needs some reality TV-type content, not only is it fun af, but it's arguably one of the best and as yet insufficiently tapped ways to grow the game. But, I would rather see some amateurs coached/led by a pro instead of just a bunch of seasoned players and faces of the game. Moneymaker was an "average joe" and look what he did, people need to see themselves at the table, that's how you really grow the game.
I don’t understand why shows like this don’t get a new cast and give some new faces a chance for some exposure. Nothing against season 1 cast it was great but let’s get some new blood in there!
I'd expect some of them to return, with some new faces added. A 50/50 split would be good. You'd imagine Maria comes back automatically to defend the title, Negreanu is Hollywood and went out early, so he'll be asked back. Jungle is a total wildcard, so he'll probably be back. Would love to see more of Fedor, Josh and Nikita, personally, but not too concerned if they mix the rest up. Charlie gets on my tits and Olga seemed quite unlikable. I hate scousers but have to admit that Lukas really grew on me.
Hope season 2 finds a way to make the end of the show more hype, if I ever rewatch this it's going to be the first sit&gos or the heads-up, the rest felt anticlimactic
Ironically the second I saw the Negreanu team lineup I thought too bad for Koon that he can't win with that team. Then I wondered if a player that much better than the other team members really cared about winning this thing. The irony of Kyna being promoted on the show as a very weak link and Martin as some super team piece was kind of ridiculous.
Deposit is not working, payout not working and finally, there is no support! In Austria, this would be called a scum or criminal. Verification is a nightmare as well! Best regards Kaufmann Patrick age 54
@GGPoker. For Season 2 you should have one random person invited to play who is newish to poker... just to add some randomness. Preferably someone called Andy!
