Daniel has always been like that. He's the actual reason that a TON of people have started playing and watching poker. No one else has come close to his level when it comes to personality at the table.
@@since1876He’s supportive, and knows she had also done work with Hustler Casino Live to host “creator nights” to get more folks into the game. Also she did good on the “Mystery Bounty Invitational game” on Pokerstars (which she won most of the rounds and eventually the final bounty for the most profit the whole series). She’s also Romanian like him, so that’s another bonding point.
@@since1876I started watching poker because of Daniel. I was still in HS at the time and he's always been one of my favorites. He's so skillful and gives alot of insight for people to improve.
Woa there good point. You ask me, with GG or any of the other providers of poker content, the players SHOULD be entertaining the people/viewers. These people are putting anything from 5k-100k of their money into a game that they end up taking generally 150k up to 11 freeking million dollars. The players should be aware and think that the people watching them are how this deal gets paid for. The money thrown into play doesn't come close to paying all of the expenses, so if the players aren't paying for the expenses and the poker companies don't want to go out of business, then they need to provide content and things to the public to make that extra money.
He is technically correct. Her name comes from her real first name Imane and was originally supposed to be pronounced like that. It's just that everyone did it wrong and she rolled with it.
Daniel Negreanu (/nɪˈɡrɑːnuː/;[5] born July 26, 1974) is a Canadian professional poker player who has won six World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets and two World Poker Tour (WPT) championship titles I MEAN I MEAN
@@zachnolan1639my child is also born in a foreign country, but as her parents are romanians, it s hard to say she s not. But the reality is, they are all of both nations…✌️👍
That was an unexpectedly entertaining conversation. And yeah, Alex might not be a top notch poker player. But she doesn't pretend she is, she knows the kind of elbow grease needed to get good at a complex game.
She'd crush most 5/10 games, being a woman, having a brain that's trained more than most; easy pickings. Not to mention, with the coaching, interaction, and connections she has now, I wouldn't be surprised if she makes some big tourney runs.
@@dominicfrabotta565Two years ago, she crushed Ludwig Ahgren’s “Million Dollar Game” with a 50K buyin to walk out 450K ahead. Last year she did good on Pokerstars with their Mystery Bounty Invitational to make 5K into over 25K (and she and everyone got to share a cheeseburger 😅)
@@dominicfrabotta565 no, she absolutely wouldn't crush any cash games let alone 5/10. nobody who actually plays 5/10+ would say that. the $10 and $20 blind level games are some of the toughest, objectively speaking, and the pros are almost all incredibly well studied and constantly improving. she might make some tourney runs, because luck is more of a factor and she can memorize spots (which being a chess player, would be her strong suit) but she would never be able to adjust to the intricacies of deep cash play. she said herself she has already played the main event 3 times, thats 3 years of playing and she is still a total rookie, as seen here. oh lol also, being a woman gives you almost no edge at 2/5 even, let alone 5/10+. serious players don't care about that. the occasional whale might soft play her but it wouldn't be enough to make up for how badly she would be doing vs the pros and how hard they would exploit her. Her connections will help her in tourneys, it won't really help her for cash because they won't be there playing for her. Tournament spots are a lot easier to memorize than cash spots, where the game tree is infinitely more complex. Also, a lot of those "connections" who are seemingly helping her out of the kindness of their heart are going to eventually drop off once they realize they are so deep in the friend zone that they're never getting out. she should stick to tournaments or 1/3 cash where being a woman actually gives you an edge.
There was so many tells at that hand @7.18. Where to start haha. Preflop: Alex cut conversation and was obvious her focus was on playing the hand and how much to bet. The action took her engagement and interest. Not to mention she openely said she was thinking of 3betting. Pro's or experienced players could do this to disguise a weak or marginal hand as a strong hand and opt for a different approach but new players more often or not is honesty on their hand strength. Post flop: The biggest tell 😄 looking relaxed, excited and waiting to see the flop. Then silent insta check with a direct look to daniel and a big smile lol not hiding anything at all 😂 Its fun to see new players play and their reaction to learning tells they wouldnt realise
I thought it was the post-flop smile and the look at him combined that gave it away for him. It was as if she was unintentionally saying “hehe, I’m gonna trap you with top two pair, come on in Daniel 😈” Then there was the “just give me a little nibble” as in “just let me nibble on your chip stack, I have you beat”. 😂
@@redgambitt_8260 Na cuz they were already laughing & having a good time. Then shit got real. He's watching AS the flop hits--that's the crucial bit. Not after you've had a sec to compose yourself.
This is Daniel's calling on top of being an amazing poker player. He's such a good gatekeeper for the poker community and spokesman. People of all ages can be easy around him and learn and be interested with his good attitude and smart play. Love this dude!
@Botezlive tell I think at 7:18 was she zoned out for a second preflop and @DanielNegreanu was able to pick up on it due to the flow of the conversation. Great collab by GG and all the best Alex in your poker journey!!
To me it feels like when she had an option at the beginning and Daniel said, looks like someone is 3 betting and she replied back to him but she only calls so Daniel already knows he has to be careful... When the flop came and she saw the 2 pair her face changed quickly from laughing to im serius now whats up ?? Then checks , and she was looking at Daniel like what ur going to do now huh huh huh ? My 1st language is Spanish im sorry for something wrong... but with time youll get much better ! I think online players needs to work on their poker face and i only say that cus i just watch the Game Of Gold
can it be, she was betting aggressively which were turned to be bluff. Then when she takes time to think and checks, denial understood she was trying to trap.
As a woman, it is so refreshing, to see a male pro talking to a newish female talent without being condescending... Daniel is just so wholesome just being genuinely interested and helpful without mansplaining. Lots of guys should learn a lot from him.
this is amazing content! Two amazing people and creators. The production is awesome, cool scenery, cool concept. I will say, it feels a little over-edited, with the dramatic zoom ins and sound effects. I think the two of them and their convo sells itself.
Daniel's description of his emotional processing during a bad beat is wonderful. I'm sure he's been in therapy, because it's literally what they tell you, but it doesn't come naturally to most people.
I wish you all the success as new ambassador! May the poker gods shine on you with clairvoyant reads, favorable flops, winning flips, deep runs and monster payouts! GLGL
Always love to see Daniel play and give his thoughts on the game. I really enjoyed the beginner friendly tips they offered. This seems amazing for the health of the game
OMFG, Thought this would be a really cute puff piece and did they ever make it into a master class live. So many great conversations, some truly fabulous questions and answers from both Daniel and Alexandra. This is one of the very best poker videos ever. Thanks!
Congrats to new Ambasador and proud to see this video. It was so cool and enjoyable ! Also knowing that you to have romanian roots makes me feel even better ! Wish to see more like this clip !
Negreanu is so cool. It's really cool how he was able to use his intellect as a tool to build a fortune by outsmarting gamblers. A lot of poker players do it, but I think the Negreanu is probably the best we've ever seen, and he also has very strong values and a strong character. That is to say, that he's continued to grow not only as a gambler, but as a person, too.
07:33 Having your hands clasped together and looking directly at the other person conveys strength. She looks like a police officer or a judge about to hear your explanation.
You need to use a baseline; she already was interlocking her hands on the table before the hand was dealt. IOW, your guess might be true of someone who had not done that yet, but here, the hands were removed from the equation. Also, she regularly makes eye contact. If we look only at what we plainly see, we'll start to superimpose our assumptions about the "obvious" look of things, as opposed to anomalies.
She had that 'I just HIT that flop' continuous, Full-smile from the time she saw her hand and especially when she looked right down at the flop. (the tell Dan just picked up)
What Daniel saw on the A6 hand was that after you check, you glance over at him eager to see what he was going to do. If you don't connect to the board you will basically never check and then be eager to see what your opponent chooses to do since they most likely will bet which you don't like.
I was just checking in but stayed. This was a fantastic video. It had everything. Educational, fun, and just entertaining. Daniel is amazing. Alexandra is fat tad tic and smart. Both of them together was special. I would love to see more of these types of videos. Very fun.
@11:00 Daniel doing an internal Hellmuth rant is awesome. The technique Daniel describes is a psychological technique called Noting and Calling. You say to yourself what your emotions are and where they're coming from. It dismantles some of their power to drive you mad, just talking out with yourself what's going on in your head. The headspace app has some good material on Noting.
i used to play alot of live poker but I got tired of dealing with the poker community in general .. Daniel makes me appreciate the game again because of how much fun he has.
Congratulations Daniel. I wish I can make it like you do. Our family we love you!❤ Today I turned 45 years old, my birthday 🎂 bro. We from Kotzebue Alaska. Eli Elzra lived here long ago.
Daniel is younger than me, but is my poker hero. One of the key elements to Genxers is that we admire elements of people that we aspire to be. I could have a conversation with Daniel Negreanu about just about anything other than poker and I'll be you against the nuts, it'd be an interesting conversation.
Daniel is truly an amazing person. If they would ask me, name one person you'd like to spend the day with, I might just name Daniel. He's a person you learn from, even besides poker.
Alex parlayed $50,000 from WPT Global to get over 450K profit with Ludwig's Million Dollar Game, then last year she was in the Pokerstars Mystery Bounty series, now she's getting to rub shoulders with Kid Poker. Looking forward to see what she does with GGPoker.
I wasn’t planning to watch this whole hour long video when I originally clicked, but I was pleasantly surprised by the conversation, so here I still am at the end.
at 7:31 when Botez saw her Aces up, she composed herself, her smile slowly fades, she tried to control her laugh, slowly takes a serious look at her chips then to Negreanu..
Im with mr negreanu.... they should ban covering faces.... i doenst make it funny to watch on tv...if everyone starts cover8ng their face alot of people are going to quit watching poker on tv
That was great. Always kinda knew the outcome, but you never know. Both masters at their craft. Just good entertainment from a couple of good entertainers.
Thinks makes me think back to the day Evelyn Ng was on the cover of Cardplayer magazine with the words future of poker. I think her career earnings then were 80 thousand...but she was great looking and Daniel's friend.
A6 v KQ hand tells... the insta silence meant "ooo im strong but dont want to say" and the simultaneous glance at chips says " oo i want to bet but ill quickly check as though i dont like it" ( ie trying to act weak when actually strong)
