No doubt he is a good player, but I feel his downfall was partly due to turning his focus more on RU-vid and stuff. Chess requires enormous amount of focus and concentration. I think he derailed himself with some 'fancy' ideas. But he is coming back to track. It is great to see that.

@yahavseligman4855
@yahavseligman4855 9 месяцев назад
I think he chose c6 because its a common motif in andgames/mate to limit the mobility of the opponent's king as much as possible and (even if in this instance it didn't achieve that) his preference was simply guided by that principle

As white you play QC6 instead of QA8 since it requires least physical effort! Reaching all the way as white to A8 can make you tired!
@bussini3462
@bussini3462 9 месяцев назад
I was also wondering why not queen a8 check. The possible explanation you gave is actually pretty great! First the black queen was on c6 while the white queen was about to fall, in the end the white queen was on c6 while the black queen was about fall. Quite poetic.
@crystallized1676
@crystallized1676 9 месяцев назад
I think you are totally wrong. I believe it's about closest proximity to the black king. I'm also insanely aggressive player just as Adhiban and I didn't even had a single thought about a8 or b7. c6 only. We rather don't play around with symmetry or poetry. If the most aggressive option works we PICK IT ;p It's build-in behaviour.

For the ending, for me the most natural is Qc6 , since its closer to the king, it just feels like you are restricting the king more. In this position, you dont, but I always aim to place the Queen close to the king in general to limit the opponents options to get in some sneaky move.

The reason for adibhan to put the queen to that place is that when you're playing chess at the board its much easier to grab pieces toward yourself than placing it to the leftmost or rightmost squares.

I think Qc6 is the shortest total board distance, resulting in the fastest movement of the hands during what might've been time trouble. If we just abstract the square size as "square" then a diagonal movement of one square is 1.414 squares linear distance. Qa8 is obviously the longest movement, 2 linear + 7 diagonal squares, Qc6 is 2 linear 5 diagonal, Qb7 is one diagonal and then 6 diagonal movements, 7 total diagonal moves, so Qc6 must be the shortest and Qb7 is .828 squares longer, since it trades 2 linear for 2 diagonal. My time ran out while calculating that though :(

I found Qxe4! Very logical, because you threaten checkmate like with Qxc4 and Bxb4 is not possible cause of Qh1+ and you have access to the e1 square from e4 and not from c4 so b3 is not possible cause of perpetual. So white is forced to play a3 or a4 and you still have time to take the bishop. Surprising Eduardo didn't find it because it's logical, not an insane engine line like other times
