I never cared for how the North treated Dany and her people when they went out of their way to help them. Especially Sansa. Her snarky comment about how she didn’t plan on feeding the Unsullied, Dothraki, and dragons. As if Jon didn’t make it absolutely clear, from season 7, that he was working to bring them north for the fight against the Dead. 🙄🤦♀️
Is it not a reasonable question? Sansa has seen first hand how hunger affects the people, think back to season 2 when the common folk started a mutiny in Kingslanding. She ended up being attacked by 5 grown men who almost r*ped and killed her. Daenerys could have brought some resources to at least help feed/aid her army and instead of reply with a threat to Sansa’s question, offer something useful.
@@abtiebeidkdbbeienoehh4866 1) it’s not like Dany had her people travel all the way up North w/o any food 2) there were plenty of ways of asking that question without being disrespectful to the person that showed to help.
@@fbdarkangel And there were plenty of ways to answer that question without being threatening. It was sort of dense on Dany’s part, considering she knows the Northerners are very cynical people whose trust has to be earned.
@@abtiebeidkdbbeienoehh4866 again she was replying to Sansa’s attitude. But I think the fact that she is in Winterfell and actually following through on her promise on helping, whereas past monarchs and lords have failed to do so (including Glover, which is not addressed enough) should at least earn her some respect.
We SEE the North is hard terrain, do you think food grows easily and abundantly? Daenerys had resources from the High Garden, and instead she burned them… Why are we upset that Sansa could not feed tens of thousands of men and two full grown dragons potentially through years long winter like a bed and breakfast?
Don't know why people blame dany instantly, yes sansa was right pointing about food but there is a way of saying it like when they first met, dany instantly knew sansa didn't like her but if she really did learnt the game she would have played nice.
The fact that Jon doesn’t want leadership is one of the primary qualities what’s always made him a great leader. He won’t kill in pursuit of a throne unlike what we’ve seen Dany doing already. This episode showed why shoot first ask questions later was a bad idea against the Tarlys. Also, Ned said the next time they saw each other they’d talk about Jon’s mother. Did you notice who’s tombs Jon was in front of when Sam gave him the news in the Winterfell crypts? 😎
And so the chickens finally come home to roost. Dany executing Sam's family leads us to that intense Samwell Jon exchange at the Crypts of Winterfell. Don't think that conversation would've went that way otherwise. It's a really well acted scene. Both of them do a great job, especially John Bradley. His quivering lip during the Dany scene was superb. Everything Sam tells Jon about the difference between him and Dany has merit. "You gave up your crown to save your people. Would she do the same". It's true even if it's hard to accept. At no point in the series did it ever feel like Dany would compromise on her claim. Not in Yunkai, not in Meereen, not in Westeros. This is a seminal question on the ethics of ruling between Dany and Jon, the two sides of the Targaryen coin. The conflict is very much there and it's set up well by that very tense exchange. But no one can build on something as substantive as that in just 6 episodes without hamfisting it.
FYI… That was the second time, lord Glover, abandoned, John and the Starks. Once we survived the war, the first order of business, I would have is to ride with a small army to lord Glover’s keep and behead him.
@@tarikR.R.5120 - Go to S8/E1 (this episode) and when Tormund and Ed meet up and later with Jon, they mention that not only was the Last Hearth taken, the Glovers were gone, too.
Ppl are suspicious because they know that Danerys would want to be Queen and Jon be Prince Consort since he isnt even a Targaryan let alone a proper Stark. Its what would make the most sense and ppl dont like it
I don't remember Sansa ever mentioning wanting to be queen since Season 1. Once she saw who Joffrey and Cersei really were, she never again said anything about being a monarch.
To be fair Sansa never wanted Daenery's help, or army, or Dragons. She wanted somehow the Northerners to fight the dead by themselves, as if they even stood a chance, against the NK. She couldn't understand that the North had two enemies, the NK and Cersei, but she believed they could defeat them both with the 50 soldiers, the 10 old men and the 25 children that were left to the northern army after the Battle of the Bastards. And she was all whinning about the Unsullied and the Dragons, because they did not need them!! Unbelievable!! 🤣🤣🤣
Sorry fam, it’s been a busy summer. I been outside 🙌🏾. Then my work schedule changed and I been busy mainly on my Patreon. I post full time over there just because it’s more prosperous. With that all being said, I did edit 8x02 today and it’s done, just waiting on RU-vid to review a few things, that’s the main delay ☹️, but it will be posted soon!
lEtS sEe iF sHe sUrvIvEs tHe sEaSoN - lol looking back at your sansa predictions would be funny. But did we really think the silver pwincess self insert of insufferable suburban women everywhere was gonna get that fairytale ending? Nah.
You hating Dany & Jon having to be related when they never knew or grew up together and are aunt & nephew is the SAME as the few Star Wars fans of old who refused to deal with Luke and Leia being twins andSTILL rather they be lovers because they were strangers basically and the Force gave them extra emotional mental ties beyond womb dev emergence together. GRRMartin has stated HE WAS one of us weirdos ergo also being a DUNE fan too thus created incestuous twins JAIME & CERSEI cuz IRL European royal incest anyway and his was extreme fantasy. Jaime has his right hand cut off like Luke Skywalker for character dev.
@@DukeJimbob which is totally cool I just can’t stand it when people who feel that way need to lay out their case and try to convince someone who enjoys it that they’re wrong instead of just letting them enjoy it- we can all like different things for different reasons!
Sansa has hard earned her point of view. She learned a lot from Littlefinger and Cersi. She uses it to protect the north and her family. Cersi of The North but not batsh$t crazy. Remember what Ramsey said, “if you think this has a happy ending you haven’t been paying attention”.
that first scene between sansa and dany actually showcases how flattery(a technique that joffrey, cersei, and littlefinger once used on her) no longer works. last season baelish said to sansa “when i’m trying to understand a person’s motives, I like to play a little game. I assume the worst.” this quote perfectly explains her hesitation and distrust this season.
You spotted Khal Drogo in Drogon's eyes? Many in the fandom believe that the essence/soul of Drogo went into Drogon when Dani did get ritual. So for me, when Drogo eyes Jon, that's our favorite Khal. Same with Rhaegal (Rhego/Rhaegar) and Visarion (Visarys). Lots of people think Mirri Maz Dur, the witch that killed drogo, was the sacrifice but, no. It was Visarys. She had to kill her Husband, her brother, and her baby to get dragons. And so poor Visarion had a bunch of Karma coming to him.
Actually, the Hound basically hugged Arya and called her daughter. That was affection of the greatest kind on display for both of them. Wait until he reunites with his Little Bird.
@@BigBroLilSis Hypothetical for you. If Tywin Lannister were still alive and sitting in on that meeting (with the wight), what do you think he would have done??? Join Jon and Danny or choose the same way Cersi did??
I think he would've done the same as Cersei. Those two are similar in their schemes. Though I wouldn't have been surprised if he laid a trap for them as they came into King's Landing, much like the Red Wedding. He's known for not playing by the rules
While I can fully understand Sansa's distrust of Daenerys at first, I can't understand why it never ends. This woman put her life and her dragon's and people's lives on the line to save the North, yet she doesn't earn Sansa's nor Arya's nor anyone's respect while she is there. They all continue to distrust her because she wants to rule them. Well, how about this: if you want can't get shit done on your own and you need help from another powerhouse, you have to compromise. Jon understood this pretty early on, and wanted to make sure that if he bent the knee, his Kingdom would remain in good hands. How Sansa managed to undermine not only Daenerys but also her own brother this season WHILE HIDING UNDER WINTERFELL while these two were fighting in the thick of the battle, is unforgivable for me. She became completely unlikeable in my eyes. I guess you can say she learned from the best at how to be a disonorable snake.
Sansa wants the north as an independent kingdom ruled by a Stark king so she hates Daenerys on principle. Daenerys could be Mother Theresa and it wouldn't matter to Sansa, or Arya either.
@@ashleyl3699 Daenerys didn't need them. They are the ones that needed her. She should've taken King's Landing day 1 and then set the record straight: "Oh, you guys wanna be independent up there? Very well, here, have all the dragon glass you need and good luck. My forces will protect the boarders of the Six Kingdoms."
Never cared for Sansa and this season, I really despise her. I was also pro-North until this season. Dany shows up to help and they act like twats towards her. I'm still holding off on what I really think towards these last two seasons until you watch the rest
Sansa ended up being 100% correct tho. Dany was not to be trusted. I like Dany a lot, but yeah. Sansa clocked the foolishness they did with Dany in season 8 before even the viewers did. Stay mad at the Queen in the North.
@baryondomingo9107Anyone would go mad after how dirty they did her. No need to be a Targaryen. Just risk everything for a bunch of strangers and then watch them kick you in the back like you're garbage. She should've flown Drogon straight to the north after King's Landing and dragged Sansa out by her hair. Dracarys. Now THAT would be an ending I could get behind, even if Dany dies after.
I might be in the minority here but I have to say it. I HATE JON AND DANNY TOGETHER. HATE HATE HATE IT. It almost makes the season unwatchable for me. And I hate Danny's dialogue this season.
The 1st words in this series tell you all you need to know about the writing! Tyrion making eunuch jokes 😩🤦🏾♀️ right! Arya said he loved Queen Visenya & her dragon to Tyrion but they did nothing with her & Queen Daenerys! Sansa was such a bitch to Daenerys when she came to help the north! After Bran just told your dumbass the NK has one of her dragons & the wall has fallen! Fuck how we gon eat ain’t enough time for anyone to starve! She should be thanking her & planning the defense! Omg I hate Sansa this season! Glad Daenerys responded as she did! Jon lied to the north! He bent the knee to Daenerys AFTER she pledged to fight for the north! He choose to follow her cause she saved him & he lied & said it was so she could help! Only thing Sansa was right about was Tyrion’s intelligence Sam acting like he father didn’t plan to kill him is crazy & his brother went along with it!
The waterfall scene with Jon and Daenerys brought me back to him and Ygritte in the cave and the last words she said to him. Ygritte: "Do you remember that cave? We should've never left that cave." Jon: "We'll go back there." Ygritte: "You know nothing, Jon Snow." 😭😭😭😭
@@nltoriola89- I thought it was a cool little tid-bit to know. 😊 And, yes, it was VERY beautiful!! Kit Harington has always remarked how much he loved this location the most and it's easy to see why! ❤️ - Diana
I loathe this season, there's some good moments but overall it's hard to re watch. People make really stupid decisions explained by bad writing that's completely out of their character 😅😅😅 i love the way you say Cersei Lannister, it always makes me laugh 🤣🪳
Oh no the dreaded season 8. Lol I kinda laughed a little bit when you filled out that prediction thing lol. Lol I loved the look Sansa gave Danny when she first saw her.
Had your patreon up until you were on s8e4! 😩 lmaoo! Can't wait to see your reaction to The Bells finally and House of the dragon! Cheers 🌷 Keep up the epic work 🤩
The fact that dany didn’t realize that he was a Targaryen by him being able to ride her dragon. When has a non Targaryen been able too. Especially Tyrion. He read ALLLLLLLL ABOUT the dragons. He was obsessed. But never popped in his head. Even Varys. Thought he knew things. SMH this season still after years upsets me to the core
@@DukeJimbob they were Targaryen bastards. Even then some died trying. Only neddles. She nursed a dragon back to health establishing a bond. But that was rare. If you haven’t seen house of the dragon yet; I’m sure you have, but if not. I highly recommend it. Very very close description of what it was like for Targaryens and their dragons.
@@DukeJimbob also. The fact that he rode him. They’ve bonded. And from here on will only take commands from Jon. That look of confusion dany had when Jon turned the dragon around. They’ve bonded. Also. Another thing DRAGON settles . I imagine she could only go so fast. In danger of flying off.
I loved the callback in this one to S1E1 with the little kid climbing to watching the procession ride in. And once again they played pretty much the same music.. and once again we focused on Arya's POV , watching the hound ride into Winterfell on horseback (again) and the king and queen (again, sort of) etc. I'm sure it's fun going back to your predictions and seeing what you had right and wrong LOL .... I think the "Who kills the Night King?: question was a bit presumptive... what if he wins? Or if he did get killed it's kind of a spoiler within the question.
I’m not even going to get into why Sansa does not TRUST Daenerys, because of the fact that she knows that pretty words are simply that, she knows how all it takes is hunger and even the most loyal subjects can turn against their rulers, and she knows how easily people can turn on each other, especially a Targaryen, so I’m not even explain all that. What I am gonna say though is everybody saying if they were Daenerys they would’ve just turned around and left with their army and dragons but babe, the other six kingdoms she’s trying to rule will be overrun with the dead too so she’ll need to deal with them anyway😭 I fear I’m standing with the Northerners here, they had quite a few years of Daenerys‘s fathers reign and while she’s not her father, they don’t know her and they’re expected to just trust or like her or revere her. They had her fathers reign, and then they had quiet during Roberts, admittedly feckless reign, and then they were thrown into turmoil for six years, and when they finally have the North and the Starks, who they know and trust back in power, the “bastard“ of Ned Stark goes and gives up the North to a Targaryen. Which he didn’t need to do because she had already pledged to fight for the North, and he still bent the knee… He could’ve gotten them to trust Daenerys by them seeing she is willing to fight for “her people“ without any reassurance that they will join her afterwards
@@BigBroLilSis 💯 facts! And not the only that, she literally caught Randyll and Dickon peacing out of Highgarden after killing everyone in house Tyrell, including Olenna, who was their liege lady and her ally. She went easy on them imo! 🤷♀️
@@BigBroLilSis you can disagree, but other than freeing slaves, she’s been just as bad as any other conqueror on the show with a string of bodies behind her… we loved her because she freed slaves, but she’s been a “join me or die” conqueror from the beginning… go back and see what she says to the Thirteen at the gates of Qarth… what she tells every day people in Mereen… she’s tempered by her advisors, but her first instincts have always been to burn all who oppose her We like her because most of the time, the people she kills are bad… but a lot of times, the people she kills are the Tarleys… helpless in front of her to do anything but say No. She even threatened to kill Jon if he didn’t kneel…
Correct me if I’m wrong but… is join me or die not the motto of the show? If your not with me your against me. The Starks wouldve gotten the Umbers & Karstarks heads if they hadn’t died in battle of bastards. The Lannisters would’ve killed the Tarlys along with Olenna had they not pledged allegiance Ned kept the Iron Islands at bay by holding their son hostage. Mance wouldn’t join Stannis so he died It’s go along with the higher power or you die… so again the difference is Daenerys is more powerful than all of them so it appears they have no choice but they do. They can choose to live but they chose not too
@@BigBroLilSis exactly! And Dany took her family’s motto (Fire & Blood) to a whole new meaning which is “F**k Around and Find Out”! The Tarlys f**ked around and found out! 🤷♀️
