She used the sun as an advantage while diving in, they could not see her well because of it. That’s why Euron keeps « protecting » his eyes at the beginning and it looks as if she’s coming out of nowhere. But well, at least one of these arrows shouldve hit him 🤷♀️
The plot downgraded them. Remember Euron got 3 out of 3 shots with like 2 seconds between each one to kill Rhaegal... but now they actually shows it takes way more time to reload it and a lot of strenght to slightly move to point at the target...
@@sonnic1995 euron fired a single shot. The rest of the shots was from other ships. Also the scorpion only works when the dragon is flying slowly or in a predictable path.
@@6oLsh0i6o0z3 and? What was the point of this quote? It doesn't really relate to what I've said. She used the Tyrell gold to pay back the debt owed to the Iron Bank and took out a new loan to pay for the Golden Company, but since she took out a loan in the name of the crown, whoever's sits the Iron Throne will be held responsible to pay the Bank back.
i cant be the only one who was sad about arya and the hound scene where she says thank you such a underrated duo of the show and also the scene of tryion saying goodbye to his brother who was the only one who didnt see his brother as a monster
I thought they ruined it when the hound told arya to not seek revenge and become like him and she is just like: Ok. Like, didnt she "train" to become a deadly assassin just for revenge? Doesnt she have an entire list of people she wants to kill? Didnt she already get part of her revenge by killing every frey? She has already become like the hound maybe worse.
Two dragons: Fails to destroy any ships. One dragon: Destroys an entire fleet, multiple armies and pretty much an entire city. Makes sense (Edit) Don’t know if anyone will see this but the point I’m trying to make is that they kill Rhaegal and make us think oh how could they possibly win now with one dragon in episode 5. Then Drogon does himself what the 3 dragons could do at the same time. Rhaegal’s death is made irrelevant since Drogon is that OP. Hell why have three dragons in the first place if you only need one to do the job.
Episode 5 actually depicts how the dragons should be (as in how they are in the books) unstoppable killing machines, unfortunately the other seasons haven't done them no justice until now
@@Enchanteddy Sure, they hid 30 ships under a small hill. She obviously could not see it from her Dragon in the air. And they were probably going at warp speed and snuck up on her. - Makes sense as well.
@@DaniloMaksimovic994 honestly dany was just enjoying the beautiful scenery and wasn't paying attention to something like "enemies".. give that lady a break she also just wants to see some pretty things sometimes (Edit: Why do most of you not understand the sarcasm?)
@@wernerbeinhart2320 thank you!! it's like...helloooo! they did use loose up until the battle of the bastards, and then they just cared less and less and started using fire.
I wanted to see the elephants just because Drogon deserved a good dinner in the after-battle considering he always do the hardest job lmao. But Drogon eats whatever he wants so it doesn’t matter I guess.

@@SeanTanktop so are most people. If you didnt surrender the city, you were accepting the possibility of what a band of poor hyped up soldiers would do to your people once they were inside. That's why the first crusade went down like the Trojans and the second crusade was surrendered. It all depends on whether you value the city or the people. Technically Cersei still carries the blame for this.
Scorpion Ballista's went from super ineffective last season, to super effective last episode, and back to super ineffective this episode. At least one hundred scorpions, and only one got a close shot. Were they being manned by Imperial Storm Troopers?
No. Dany was just flying in a much more effective way by having the sun at her back, divebombing, and staying low while going at very high speed. She made herself a very difficult target to hit with slow-reloading slow-turning scorpions.
In season 7, Drogon got hit because they didn't realize an effective antu-air weapon existed at all. When Rhaegal went down, it seemed that Dany just wasn't paying attention and dragons probably could care less about ships (dragons without riders seem, less smart). This time though she knew the stakes, knew to attack from the sun/clouds. and keep moving quickly and at low altitude where it would be hard to track. Totally reasonable that she would be hard to hit, and it's not as if Drogon took hits and kept going. I'm more curious as to how dragons work, can they breath fire without cost or what?
I’m one of the first people here for a change lol 🙌 Btw, If they brought Golden Company into the show and made such a fuss over it, they should’ve at least had some purpose 🤷🏼♀️ P. s. Am I the only one left with bittersweet taste cause of Jaime’s death? I thought he finally escaped Cersei and was happy with Brienne, but at the end, she still got him.. and Brienne didn’t get a proper goodbye. It’s really sad how he couldn’t escape his own demons and became one himself, just for Cersei
The purpose of the Golden Company was to make it seem like Cersei had a chance.. That was the purpose all along to make it seem like it was an even fight when it really was not.
@@rattlesnake322 the golden company was 20,000 troops. they all apparently died to dany's (MAYBE 15,000) in around 10 seconds. I liked that episode but that was fairly stupid
@dirt man The Dornishmen used guerrilla warfare against Aegon The Conqueror and succeeded, they killed Rhaenys and her dragon Meraxes and were never conquered. That was the best way for Cercei to succeed.
1 Scorpion in Season 7: Hit Drogon once. A handful of Scorpions last episode: Killed a dragon in 5 seconds. 100+ Scorpions this episode: Not a single hit.
This was the happy time of "Yay, Dany & Drogon! Yay, Gray Worm! Yay, the good guys are kicking the bad guys' butts with minimal civilian casualties!" Then it all went to hell in a bucket. Bells in KL mean "Shame." : (

The horse that looked to die that Strickland (Golden company commander) was riding is the exact same horse Arya rode out of town on. Markings are the same
But she would have lost at least one of them. Dragons without riders are dumb. Remember the one that nearly died when she defended Meeren from the slavers.

TBH without the scorpions what can they do against a dragon? At least in this episode they show what a dragon can really do (being an unstoppable killing machin like Martin said) Drogon killed most of the GC so the dothraki , unsulllied and north could go inside against the lannisters army
"20 000 men and 2 000 horses" "Greatest sellsword-company" "Never breaks a contract" Golden Company: _Sorry, what? I can't hear you over the_ *sound of me running away*
The scorpions ambushed her last time, this time Dany ambushed them. It's incredibly hard to aim for a target when they are actively trying to evade you attacks. The logic of the last episode with how they managed to ambush Dany was faulty, not the logic of this episode.
@@shane55pwnt I agree with this and most people forget that Rhaegal was taken down in a surprise attack but with the number of scorpions, at least one should have been able to get in a shot. At least a flesh wound!
I've been curious for some time but ever more after The Bells, how much of the flying is Dany guiding and how much of it is just natural instincts from Drogon? I feel like he's flying and Dany just kinda suggesting where they go.
Credit where it's due, hiding in the sun and fast dive attacking was the sound strategy to counter the Iron Fleet and the Scorpions. I don't think they necessarily nerfed them for this episode, I think they were OP'd in the last one.
Golden company soldier 1: "Wow. We really look like a small army standing out here now." Golden army soldier 2: "We would have looked bigger but there needed to be budget cuts for epic dragon scenes. "
She relied too heavily on her poorly placed scorpions, she should have littered them throughout the city instead of along the wall, that way Golden Company could actually fight
If Dany had attacked the way she did in the past, those scorpions would have shot her down in no time. Instead, Dany came in with the sun at her back and then proceeded to divebomb rather than remain at her usual higher altitude. Those scorpions are powerful, but they take time to reload and are slow to turn. She probably could have been hit a few times, but Dany made herself and Drogon a far harder target to hit than she was before by flying that low and fast. It wasn't that the scorpions suddenly became bad, but rather that Dany used much more effective tactics.
