I reckon the dothraki were done a disservice in this scene. Why make them charge headlong into a spear wall? I wonder whether that was a command from day or just bad writing. Seriously, the best cavalrymen in the "world" and they throw their horses lives away. No hit and run, skirmish styles, cavalry archery. Just arahks against spears.... Wtf.
The party hat choses the battlefield, the moment, and is able to surprie the enemy wins (aside for the fact that he who poses the initiative in a battle is more likely to win. ex:battle of the bastards) , individualy it gives great advantatges but togheter well, you saw what happens to the unprepared surprised defenders
What else were they going to do? They are known for their mastery of cavalry warfare, they only use those weapons plus archers on horseback. They aren't trained in any other form of combat. It didn't even matter because of the dragon anyway, creates a gap in the wall, fear.
In most battle scenes the horses are not harmed or just fall in a way that they are not harmed. In reality horses were butchered as much as the men were. The animal rights groups must have been up in arms about this scene even though the gore was created using CGI.
@@pika-sc5lu because the whole 7th and 6th season were not that good. Im not a hater, im someone who is saying that since GRRM isnt indirectly directing anymore it turned more into hollywood - all those changes from the books are disappointing Dont get me wrong the series is still really good.
@@nekofreaks Very true. You can understand where he's coming from as that is his home, family and his people. But it was foolish of Dany to listen to Tyrion. She could've taken over Westeros in one fell swoop. No one would've been able to stop her. She wouldn't have even needed to cause much blood shed, she could've showed up with her army and dragons and the intimidation alone would force the people to turn against Cersei. Tyrion caused Dany's downfall because of his unwillingness to go to war.
Plus we don't know how the battle would have gone without the dragon. The dothraki were fierce and I tend to believe they would have won, only with greater casualties
@The Anti-CHAD actually dany shouldn't have brought her dothraki! She could have came with 3 dragons and destroyed them like a piece of cake.. Yeah ik the battle was intresting and one sided, it would have been boring if it was much more one sided..
@@HunterKing3200 Not necessarily, there was no information really offered tactically which shows that the Dothraki DEFINITELY WOULD have won, the odds were in their favour, but Drogon appearing pretty much realistically ended any possibility of a Lannister victory here. If their shieldwall stayed together, Drogon would annihilate them, if the shieldwall spilit, the Dothraki would annihilate them.
Yes it is. If you look at the scene carefully, you can see it's Bronn. Also, this is made clear after Bronn jumps right before Drogon fires at Qyburn's scorpion, and as he is laying down he looks and sees the white horse with no rider, that he will use to catch Jaime and ultimately save him.
called dragon a focker and then shot the damn thing'' Bron.. Tell me, if I ever ordered you to kill an innocent child still at her mothers breast, would you do it? Without question? Without question?.. No.. I'd ask how much.
Giocommentary you’re comparing an innocent baby to a creature who’s only purpose is to be a weapon, and killed thousand and thousands of innocent soldiers who’re just doing their job and only purpose in life.
@@ttydt whut? I'm comparing killing the most innocent thing on this world with comparing what would be killing THE most destructive force in the world. i'm quoting a line from the show? it shows how little regards Bron has for Morality or his own life as long as it fills his pockets. but.. what are you going on about? and in all honesty would you fight the dragon or kill the baby? I know my choice. F my own life.
It's actually not even hypocritical. The average GOT viewer prioritized (1) Starks; (2) Khaleesi; (3) everyone else; [....] (999) Lannisters. When Khaleesi was killed it meant that the Starks would rule Westeros, which is what most people wanted. I was actually with you though, I wanted Khaleesi to the end. #DannyDidNothingWrong
It's because THEY HAVE. People's Attention-Span's and long-term memory in the 21st century are going to shit because of the Constant Bombardment of Quick Visual Stimuli from advertisements & media based on instant gratification. *_e.g. people are becoming dumb._* 👍
Yes my friend and I sat on my couch and watched that episode together. We were cheering like some fools when we heard that oh so recognizable dragon screech and seeing Danaerys showing up on that dragon...epic! One of the best episodes on GOT. 👌🏽 🐉 🔥
@@purnendutiwari5841 And the Dothraki aren't savages? Their whole thing is raping and pillaging. Also lets not forget Drogon roasted a little girl alive a few seasons back.
@@Atlasfilms08 it's about the lannisters and dragons we're talkin'. Who asked about Dothraki. No doubt they're savages but in it's own weird way, it's quite satisfying to see the lannisters being burned alive as people how much hate the lannisters.
@@purnendutiwari5841 I mean, the show and (especially) the books do try to make the point that the average soldier is just a normal person caught up in wars orchestrated by those above them, and the same applies to the Lannister infantrymen seen here. Hell, this scene is essentially filmed from the perspective of Jaime to try and show how horrifyingly destructive the dragons are, and at no point is meant to feel like some awesome victory against an evil army.
As an editor in film and studio, seeing reactions of people brings actual tears to my eyes. (had to wipe a few) because "we" sit on the screen doing reversions after reversions to master a final product. We are displaced from reality, of normal human function. It's just "build the story." Edit after edit. Hours upon hours. I didn't work for GOT but to create a child, into birth and when you hit that "produce" button after finalization? You hope you can get reactions like this. Shout-out to the editor Katie Weiland and even the Cinematography by Robert McLachlan.
One thing is for sure Jaime is no coward. He could have left his men but decided to fight anyway even though they were outnumbered. At the end when he saw that he could kill the Queen and win the war but there was a fucking dragon next to her, he was like fuck it. you may not root for his team but you cant deny bravery.
I know what NOT to cheer for, though. A narcissistic lunatic who was always going to be a tyrant using a nuclear weapon to turn the peasants in her way into ash. Knowing not to cheer for something so obviously antihuman is at least a start. Then maybe you can eventually begin figuring out what to cheer for.
The thing is, they shouldn't be fighting. They should be working together, gathering all men and resources they have for the biggest war to come. But they don't know that and that's what makes it so poetic
@SmallmoneyYT It shows her willingness to kill to get what she wanted...and how many people had a moment where they just snapped. Her madness was germinating from the first episode we saw her and Missandei's death was the snapping point. Was season 8 perfect, no, and I think they could have delved deeper into her thoughts.
@@denniswebb341 exactly . Idk why people act like she did it out of nowhere. Hints and clues to her otherside were dropped damn near every episode she was in of every season. It would be either something seemingly mundane she did or said or even something that someone said to her that which resonated , gave clues to her other side that was always there. Like Joker said, sometimes you just need a little push, and Massandi was that final push
@@iamking7134 still doesn’t make any sense writing wise, I’m sorry. I’m glad you hated her enough to convince yourself the writing made any sense but uh…. No lmao. People don’t snap in one millisecond and murder thousands of innocents, after spending their entire life SAVING people and living by that value system. Lol. It’s a new character at that point.
"Only a fool would face the Dothraiki in the open field"---Robert Baratheon to Cercei Cercei : "So sorry Jaime..I forgot to share this information with you."
"we can hold them off" Drogon screaming through the clouds and flying towards the battle in the most epic possible way.. damn, how I miss this show, looking foward to watch HOTD
Gotta hand it to the Lannister Army- they've never even seen a dragon before. One shows up , starts barfing flaming death everywhere and none of them breaks rank unless they themselves are on fire. That's balls.
First of all that is what an army is suppose to do. Second the lannisters did horrible things too so no.. it was just a matter of time before thing would go bad for them all
I'm not crying about it I was just pointing out the irony of the Dothraki's statement. You seem to be the one a lil triggered right now. What's wrong? Is everything okay at home Aeris? I can help you with your problems you know.
That scene where Jamie was about to impale Daenerys really showed us how the dragons saw her as their mother and were willing to protect her with their lives. RIP Rhaegal and Viserion 😭🙏🏻
lol its bron u got to admire. he has both courage and results to back it up. jaime has none. he only went against danny coz that would've been an easy kill.
blasttrash easy kill? There was a 1% chance he could kill her with Drogon next to her and he took that chance. That had to be the bravest thing I’ve seen on this show
+TheSkyWhale Clearly you didnt pass geography class. Its also not a shoreline its a river and they gradually get deeper unless its under some sort of water fall then you dont find a natural drop like that in a river. Im also really getting tired of reading people blindly defending the bad writing they have shown this season, although apart from that ending i enjoyed this episode alot.
I adore how the reaction went from "WHOO FOCK YOU LANNISTERS." to "oh....oh oh OH GOD NONONO." that's about right. It was smart of them to shoot this from Jaime's perspective.
Seriously? I was screaming with Joy when I saw that. Bronn is awesome. But he's cocky as hell, now he got his ass handed to him by a way better and quicker fighter
yeah bronn got his ass handed for sure, the "better and quicker fighter" that's dead with a giant dragon killing bolt in his heart got the better outcome of the fight
Out of context it sounds dumb. but most people don't like the Lannisters so they would cheer for their deaths and most people like Bronn so they wouldn't be too happy if he's losing..
Blackwater is way better. Castle Black even better. Oberyn vs the Mountain better too if that counts. Even Hardhome from season 5 was better, even though the show was already getting a bit goofy by then. Battle of Bastards better too. Season 7 was bad. Season 8, as we all know, unspeakable.
My biggest regret about this show was not being right there in the Burlington bar with a cold drink watching this show with the rest of all you amazing fans of this show. I have watched every reactions that you have posted! You guys are awesome!
wonderful how one scene managed to bring so many different emotions in 5-10 min. Happiness, pleasure, fear, doubt. And the fact that all the characters are complex, loved and hated at the same time, making no one know exactly which side of the battle to take, but at the same time supporting both. GoT was and is the best show of all time, even with the end it had Thank you to everyone who made this masterpiece
@@SirKolass Uhm, not sure about that one, buddy - they were ordered to and if they fled they would've been hunted down and killed for desertion - also, I'm pretty sure not a single Lannister soldier wanted to fight a dragon and the Dothraki in an open field, whilst transporting a caravan of supplies.
I sometimes have to pinch myself, this is a TV series! That was feature film quality action, really! I think back to the polystyrene sets of the 1980's Dr Who, rubber monsters in horror movies and lizards with bits stuck on as dinosaurs. Crikey! Thank you for letting me share GoT S7 with you all, I love watching your reactions, feel I know you. Hugs from Shrewsbury, U.K.
I still remember the feeling I had when I watched this battle. I never read the books, so when Season 1 ended with the 3 baby dragons, I envisioned this battle happening, but I never thought HBO will allow the show to go long enough to get to this battle. I just remembered being numbed, shocked, and just not being able to talk or comprehend for like a good 30mins after this episode ended.

Sean TankTop awesome work and reactions as always mate! Unmissable viewing every week for me this now, love the new content too! Keep up the good work!
Sean, i wish i could come to your bar one night and experience what must be an incredible atmosphere. Alas i Live in Glasgow-Scotland and it would take some doing. The videos you guys do are great don't stop its enjoyable to see some of the reactions, Especially the 3 girls. They crack me up and i must admit to thinking that Amelia is as cute as could be, she alone would be worth the 12 hour flight... You could not do in a Glasgow bar what you do in yours... we take our drinking far too seriously for anything other than sports. Looking forward to the next one. Rob.
Sean TankTop Plz upload in chronological order? This would have been awesomely satisfying ending! Ya know, for those of us obsessed fans on the edge of our smartphones waiting for your vids! 🙌🙌🙌😸
This is one of my favourite reaction videos, I've watched it loads of times, mostly for the gentleman who is clearly a fan of Bronn, he goes through every emotion during in the space of 12 minutes 😂
Don't generalize. Not all Lannisters are bad men, not all of Danys allies are good men. If you want to apply GoT to reality, just be thankful that there is peace in most of our world. War knows no good or bad. It is one big drag.
I really don't know what are the problems of some people on the comments. First, there is no bad or good character in got, they all have done some bad things at on point. Second, Dany murdered a army, which previously have also killed people, thats war guys, so I don't see this action as something done by "mad Dany". Thirdly, for those people saying that Dany got everything easy because she has dragons, and that she doesn't know how to rule, just check her story and you will see that she went through some bad things and of course she doesn't know how to rule, she never had "classes", everything she learned was on the "real" world, from her mistakes. To finish, everyone are entitled to pick the side they want, or both side, so let's be more nice and comprehensive of the people choices and reasons to pick a side.
Ariane Casanova Dorneles Honestly, don't bother honey, the people here are just triggered shits who can't understand basic concepts. It's impossible to have a sensed conversation on the plot or even 1 character because humans are dumb.
agree with you mostly. But i do really want dany to die. She did absolutely nothing, Her only power is the plot and it's way too obvious. Lannisters, starks idc which house they all fought for their place. Dany? He i got dragons! Look im gonna win this shit. That's the main reason people are on bandwagoning the hate for Dany and i truly understand it. See it like a unfair battle (i know they follow the books etc.) anyway you get my point :D
im not saying im supporting the Lannisters (cuz i def don't) I just really hope Dany doesn't end up on the throne. Im just annoyed by the fact Dany wins bcuz of her plot armour while the starks and lannisters win because they worked for their goal. That said. I truly hope Cersei in the worst way possible im just pretty neutral in the whole 'who ends up on the throne' my personal choice would be Gendry (has a big claim) and seems (with some guidance) a trustworthy candidate
Akis Gendry has a claim if you know the theory of Gendry. The theory goes Gendry is the true born son of Robert and Cersei. In season 1 Gendry talks of his mother of golden hair and Cersei tells us her only child with Robert she had taken away because he was dying of the pox or something. Well the theory goes he didn't die and that child is Gendry.
In one of the first seasons, someone tells Bran (I believe) that the Dothraki learn to shoot arrows from their horses as children. And now we see it.I love this show for those little details.
Love watching the audience reactions on these scenes. ENTER THE DRAGON!! This scene continues to get a lot of criticism because of the violence but it's still one of the most spectacular GOT scenes.
Robb sacrifices 2000 of his men = Good strategy! I like him a lot! Stannis sends thousands of men to their deaths by attacking King's Landing = THE MANNIS!!! WOOO!!! Daenerys kills enemy soldiers = SHE'S CRUEL AND SHE'S THE MAD QUEEN, SHE'S WORSE THAN CERSEI You can't make this shit up
@@mitchell4745 you don't think the Lannister soldiers rape or murder people either? That's a big part of war, Jorah talks about the beast in every man that stirs when you put a sword in his hand. Same applies to Lannisters. That's just how it be sometimes.
Romy • 🤦🏼god you’re dumb..... yes some Lannisters rape I know.... but the dothraki literally have an entire culture about it smartass don’t cheer for them just because of misses “I can’t do shit without my dragons” targarean
