Jack Gleeson is really an excellent actor..he played Joffrey so well it was a blast...I mean if millions applaud when a young Boy dies..you know you did your Job extremly well

I just wish Jack did some new interviews with the cast....but he wants to take a different path. It's just a waste for such a young actor...

We do too - we'd love to interview Jack! Such a fantastic actor, and from what everyone we've spoken to in the cast say, a totally lovely person! Of course, it will be a shame to lose such a brilliant young actor from our screens when he leaves acting, but it's important for everyone to choose the path that's right for themselves in life, and we wish him the best of luck for his future in academia.

***** The role is so powerful that I can see why he'd consider taking off a few years to let the uproar die down. He hasn't stated that, but it may be what he's thinking since, in many peoples' worlds, he is typecast for a bit. For some it's probably better to find other work right away, but for him it may come down to waiting and finding the right roles that earn him credit as an actor. There again, it may be that there aren't many quality productions that would be willing to take him in at the moment. Jack is sort of 'damaged goods' like Mel Gibson is, but for a role he played vs. real life incidents.

It's not a waste. Would you prefer him doing something that he's unhappy with and star in hundreds of movies and shows, get hooked on drugs and eventually end his own life? Some take that route. I think he's trying to preserve his sanity and focus on more fulfilling and meaningful things.

786sami786 Are you saying acting isn't meaningful? And there are actors who remain wholesome and great people, as well as great actors. As for the original commenter, it appears they meant waste as in a waste of his talent as an actor, because he does have amazing talent, and therefore it is a waste of that talent to stop acting. It doesn't mean he himself is a waste, but it is a waste of that talent.

One of my best friends is a hair dresser/make-up artist and she worked with Jack when he was in Aus a few years ago. She said he was just lovely. Shame he's no longer acting - he's incredibly talented.

Actually I had the same idea too, but I saw an interview of him and he was so sweet and had a really fun character. Suddenly I felt like he got a very lovely face And he's eyes are kind . So I put it all on his talent now .

i cannot recall a character in a novel or on the screen as despicable as Joffrey....I felt such a visceral dislike of him, i literally cheered when he was poisoned. Happy to hear the actor is a nice lad! He played Joffrey to such perfection....I would say i hated Cersei ALMOST as much....

Im not sure if anyone had mentioned this before, but I'm more than convinced now that King Joffrey is a closet homosexual and he hates feeling that way. It's so obvious. This explains his rage and anger with everyone, his awkwardness around Sansa and even his new bride. He wants to prove to everyone how tough he is, but really he's a wimp and a coward, and it's obvious he not remotely interested in girls sexually.

No I think it's largely accepted he's one of the few asexual charactars on the show unless you think his sadism has a creepy sexual element to it as well. He's rare in that he never shows sexual attraction to anyone. He even treats his wife-to-be more like an admiring little sister than his, you know, future partner and he is clearly mocking towards the homosexual characters. If he was a closet gay he probably wouldn't want to bring it up at all so it doesn't even cross anyone's minds but he goes out of his way to be a homophobe and draw attention to the issue.

One interesting thing about Jeffery is that he isn't powerful or cool in anyway. He isn't a dark lord like Sauron. He's evil but also pathetic. Not only a tyrant but also incompetent.

Arya begins her journey to king's landing to kill Joffrey, on the way reunited with her dyre wolf nymeria like how Jon and Ghost did. She sneaks into the red keep where Joffrey is protected by four of his kingsguard. She knocks out three of them (like Syrio Forel did) and then Meryn Trant confronts her, like he did to Syrio (He recognises her). She defeats him, sees Joffrey with his crossbow, when Nymeria jumps in and saves arya from Joffrey (again) chewing up his hand (again) and she stabs him in the neck like she did to Polliver

I will never understand how people can condemn a person because of the ROLE THEY PLAY!!! They are ACTING PEOPLE!! To label them for playing a 'bad character ' is stupid, and destructive to the actor! The average IQ of 'fans' must be in the negative, I mean c'mon man!! 😂😂
