Hell ya bro I didn’t even know these existed and there narrated by the actually cast this shit is epic so well done and it adds so much backstory to the show they really should have promoted this more during the shows off season it gives u so much lore and makes the show that much better
@@willbrown3694 Davos had 7 sons before the blackwater, but 3 of them died in the battle. I believe one of his sons still squires for stannis. and his wife is still alive tho
@@ishanbajpai6940 Ned stark broke her heart. Her lover married another woman, she miscarried her child with him and her brother was killed by her lover. Its no surprise she committed suicide.
Achilles RodriguezXX... Barristan says a man dishonored her that night and constantly hints it was a Stark but Selmy doesn’t hate Ned he believes he was one of the most honorable men. Thing is Bran the Wild Wolf has a reputation for being a fuckboy and was never known to be afraid to get what he wanted.
He probably doesn't want to admit and see how far humanity is capable of during war and thereafter. Given whats happen before, its inhumane what a person does to another person
To think, this is fiction just amazes me. The way they describe history from both perspectives ( Rebels vs targaryen) is really similar to the books and how it does story telling.
The amount of details in these stories are just incredible. Sometimes I think about what George rr Martin's notes must look like. I bet he has 200,000 pages of information just on a song of ice and fire alone.
These stories... although fictional....can be found on the bonus features of GoT seasons 1 to 8....I made the mistake of selling my 8 seasons to 2nd hand entertainment giants CEX for a mere £17. That was almost a year ago...from time to time I still go into CEX to see what games I can pick up on the cheap & to my utter disbelief, some of (if not all) the seasons 1 to 8 are still up on the shelf
Reminds me of that one time my Readings in History professor said that even first-hand accounts and primary sources aren't 100% reliable because the person providing them could've had biases.
@@varm8878 Yeah realized everyone was voiced by their actors in the show, hope they make another one after season 8 to get jon and dany's perspective too.

I want to see on the small screen, hopefully hbo but I'll take netflix, hulu etc. One of the reasons the show was so good is it was a show, NOT a movie. GRRM had movie offers but he turned them down, the story is just way too long to tell in movie format. I would tell any fans to read ( or listen I
@@lorianabanana6066 I would argue certain storylines in Game Of Thrones would work really well as standalone movies. The show worked (up until season 7) because it followed the perspective of multiple characters. Robert's rebellion, the Reynes of Castamere, the War of the Ninepenny Kings, etc. could all easily be told from the perspective of a single character over the course of a feature film. Plus, having tighter guidelines has it's benefits when it comes to storytelling.
Sam Stark actually the knight of the laughing tree was Rhaegar. Rhaegar and Lyanna were secretly in love and at the conclusion of the tourney Rhaegar aka the knight of the laughing tree, gave his favor to Lyanna crowning her the queen of the Tourney.
Potatoe the Hun it couldn’t have been Rhaegar. The knight of the laughing tree was said to be very small. Rhaegar was tall and strapping. Lyanna was the Knight and because of her actions Rhaegar crowned her the queen of love and beauty
@@wisdommanari6701 The age gap is only gross because 15 years olds are considered children today. In the past only enough to bleed was old enough to butcher.

Yes, Renly was stupid. Would he have been a competent ruler? More competent than Robert? Probably. He did seem to realise that all the bullshit talks about "glory" in battle etc just ment thousands of people dying for the the egos of a handful of men. But then again, his own ego also caused him to go to war against his own brother.... Oh well, that's the point with most of GRRMs characters, they're all flawed.
My money's on Lyanna Stark herself being the Knight of the Laughing Tree. And when sent by his father, the Mad King, to the lists to unmask the mystery Knight, Prince Rhaegar actually did secretly learn the truth. A revelation that led to Prince Rhaegar admiring Lyanna Stark so much for what she'd done, that he vowed to protect her secret. Only to spurn his wife to give Lyanna his favor after winning his own joust the next day; a crown of Winter Roses, blue as ice. A decision that would cost him his life, send a Stark back home to Winterfell with a newborn child, unseat the last monarch of a three hundred year dynasty, and set in motion a chain of murder, kidnapping, rape, betrayal, and warfare that would burn and reverberate throughout the Seven Kingdoms for decades to come. One Crannogman is bullied by three squires at a tournament, and the greatest story of our generation begins. I guess it goes without saying, George RR Martin is a literary genius.
Amar Revolver you haven’t any knowledge of that entire situation, sit down. Lyanna and Rhaeger lived each other, but you decided that only the woman is to be blamed. Have fun, neckbeard.
Oberyn's story about his sister is the most heartbreaking ever. It makes even more sense that Ned never told a soul about Jon's real parents because Robert Baratheon was crazy and so were most people. Ned Stark is the heart of the story ( I still hate that he killed lady tho)
His king commanded it, he had absolute power it was the law of the land to obey his every command. His pov in the book expressed his deep regret about it.
Rhaegar is kind of like schrodinger's cat. We don't know if he is nobel and honourable or a cunning delusional maniac but both are very likely to be true about his character
Like seriously I know he is a Stark so making bad decisions is in his blood but Brandon what the fuc were you thinking going to kings landing maybe 15 deep and requesting the death of the heir to the 7 kingdoms how did you think that was going to work-out. O Brandon is here and he wants my son's head...well go cut it off and hand it to him 😐
Well the crown prince did take his sister. The daughter of an ancient and proud family whose women should never be treated like a goat you can steal. Or such was Brandon's thinking and he had good reason to think that.
Brandon Stark was known as “Wild Brandon”. In the show, Littlefinger remarks on how Brandon was the brawler of his siblings “quick tempers, slow minds”. Brandon and Rickard didn’t think Aerys was mad enough to kill them, knowing full well the entire northern half of the continent would come down on top of them, including the Baratheons whom where the most war-minded of the Seven Kingdoms. Aerys killed them and what Brandon assumed kept him safe came to pass
He was always stubborn and proud, but he used to be fair and he used to at least listen to advice and give his reasons if he didn't take it. I think a mixture of being over looked AGAIN for what he was justly due and the Red Womans crazy slowly fucked his reasoning and made him go bananas. His brothers and wife didn't help either. Davos and poor Shireen were the only ones left who truly loved him and were on his side. He pushed Davos away and sacrificed his daughter to his ambition. By then he no longer cared about saving Westeros he jusy want what he thought was his. Ironically sacrificed what was truly valuable...after that shit he was fucked and he knew it. When he gave himself up to Brienne that was the real Stannis, who truly believed in justice.. Part of the reason I love GRRM's charactors is they aren't one sided. Even the ones who do horrible shit have their good qualities lol. I just read The Lord of the Rings again. I love those books, but the charactors are so one sided, either good or evil period. Like what the fuck problem do Orcs have? Are they always pissed? And other the like Eowyn, Galadriel and Luthien do any females do anything? In the books even Arwen just sits around and looks pretty. Westros is totally run by men but women still are important and many are great warriors....wow total tangent lol...my bad.
I kind of love that Nikolaj's accent is slipping in his part. It adds another difference to the audio experience than just another british-esque voice.
Thats true. But real human history is hard to truly love. So many cultures and time periods. Add in personal bias and viewing history skewered. GOT is basically an easy history to follow.
It’s pathetic how brain washed we have become with carton movies (the avengers) and series on hbo like gOt. Go talk to kids and adults in other countries about history and life and then u will realize why Americans will soon be replaced. One by one we have become lazy and stupid. The rest of the world will soon walk all over us because of our spoiled and ignorant ways.
Diana Sarmiento She used him because nobody else wanted her not Rhaegar & surely not Robert😂😂 so she used the only Man who actually loved her Jaime....
Too bad that if there’s a prequel, it won’t be about Robert’s rebellion. Even though we know the outcome and all the twists and turns, I would love to see it on the big screen.
I knew Cersei was manipulative as all hell the moment I first saw her, and she just cemented that theory in later seasons of the show. But I honestly thought her feelings for Jamie were real. At about 34:00 to 35:04 time stamp. You hear Jamie narrate and it’s pretty much confirmed that even her incestuous love for him started as just a tactic to get what she wanted, she didn’t want Jamie to leave cause that means her life would not be to her liking so she manipulated him (with her vag)to give up lordship to join the kingsgaurd. These characters are masterwork fully fleshed out.. I’m a wannabe writer so I see characters and character development and behavior in a brighter light than most people and the characters in GoT are brilliant.
9:52 Gotta love Robert with his hate for Targaryens even though his house is just an upjumped bastard branch of the Targaryens and his Grandmother is a Targaryen
Oberyn's story is so sad and not just because of what happened to Elia. If you know Lyanna's story or Tywin's, you know that Rhaegar never wanted part of the Dorne union and Aries had chosen Elia to spite Tywin and the rest of the Lannisters. Yet Oberyn and the rest of Dorne saw the king as honoring them by choosing Elia when they in fact were using their daughter as petty payback because none of the rest of the seven kingdoms respect Dorne or the Martells.
Actually Rhaegar's marriage didnt union dorne to the kingdoms. I think it was someone else. One of his uncles or grandparents or something.Someone who would of been dead by the time rhaegar was born.
Yes, Dorne was union into the 7 kingdoms via marriage to Darron II 200 years before, but Rhaegar also did not choose Ella is what the main issue should be about their marriage. Lyanna and Rhaegar fell in love; it's love or duty as Jon Snow would tell you, you can't have it both ways
The mad king didn't want Elia either, but she was the best match with some targ blood because the Martell's had married into their family and back since Dorne was brought into the seven kingdoms by marriage. ( awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Dorne#Unifying_the_Seven_Kingdoms ). He was also doing it to spite Tywin though, and nobody thought it was anything but political. It is said they were "fond" of each other. Nothing more.
25:31 Viserys' comments really show how unaccountability is really bad for any government system. If people push hard enough, eventually people push back.
If you think about it, Roberts (great?)grandmother was a Targaryen. Sure not by house name any longer, but by blood. And do they not claim the blood of the dragon runs thick? So truthfully, Targaryen blood has always been seated on the throne.
That house was built in Targaryen Blood. The first Baratheon was a bastard of a Targaryen. They intermarried many times. Rhaenys was a Baratheon/Targaryen.
@@King_Stannis_Baratheon Stannis the brave, of house Baratheon, first of his name, king of the andals and the first men, lord of Dragonstone and holder of Storm's End, lord of the seven kingdoms and protector of the realm. We all shall bend the knee, from Winterfell to Dorne, from King's Landing to Casterly Rock, to the man, the myth, the legend: STANNIS THE MANNIS!
The Tyrells did nothing to save the Targaryens. They just sided nominally with the Mad King and waited the result of the war, using their enormous army and to besiege one castle. They could have helped Rhaegar at the Trident, or saved King's Landing from the Lannisters. I think the real explanation for the Targaryens' defeat is there. Even their allies weren't really their allies.
Even prince Doran didn’t want to send soldiers but his brother Oberyn convinced him that their sister was in serious danger and he sent 10,000 troops in response. He did not want to take part in the war.
No, he was a very likable man but if I remember correctly he was thrown into the dungeon in his youth and that changed him entirely plus the Targs have a history of mental illness due to inbreeding.
After the rushed debacle of Season 8 it is actually quite sad listening to these back stories now as it confirms Benioff and Weiss basically ‘forgot’ about everything just to get rid of GOT and move on. They’re not as clever and beloved as they obviously think they are. They’ve believed their own hype, thinking themselves untouchable. There’s a rebellion coming which will hopefully wipe the smug smiles off their faces.... when GOT fans and Star Wars fans join their houses! 😉
God I wish they didn't ruin the show so much.... and that George R.R. Martin finishes this story someday.. And damn, I never realized how good the voice and acting the guy who played Viserys did. Both Viserys' we've seen on screen are great. I miss Season 1 Robert Baratheon and Ned Stark bantering with each other
Marq J Lol he was smart and made it as if they won that battle while really keeping themselves out of it. I believe his Mother May be the wise one behind that!
I honestly love the implied arc Ned had over the course of Robert’s Rebellion. A quiet boy with a good heart, and a love for Ashara Dayne. After his brother who would be the obvious leader was put to death along with his father, he had to step up. The Ned we see face off against Arthur Dayne emerged from the war he fought hardened, confident, yet never losing his pure heart, even willing to marry the woman his brother was supposed to be married to for the sake of his realm. If you look at it, Stark not in line for the throne, whose father and brother were put to death by the king, and as a result whose sister was held captive by said king. Who loved a woman who eventually died(as far as we know with Ashara) and later married another woman whom he loved, but had to betray in some way to do the right thing. Jon Snow is an interesting man, isn’t he?
Curious fact about Ashara Dayne: her body was never found. And strangely enough, you heir to the house Dayne is also called Ned (who Arya meets in the books and who claims that Jon Snow's mother was their House's long time servant called Wylla, while Cersei and Catelyn believe Jon's mother is Ashara).
@LagiNaLangAko23 stop lying they never said Blood moon was cancelled.. the pilot is in pre production and HBO is about to order a pilot for the Dance of Dragons through Aegons conquest. You sound just like that orange idiot 45 with your fake made up facts
I would make the streets flow RED with the blood of the innocent if that is what it takes to see the "Battle of the Trident" either animated or live action a la the "Battle of the Bastards"...oh...just thinking about Robert in full on fury DESTROYING that pretty boy Prince!
I can’t be the only one who would’ve wanted to see a series based on the war of the usurper and everything that led to it, I mean the new series HoD is cool and all but getting to see a young Eddard and Robert and see the mad king in live action and even a Young Tywin Lannister would be awesome
The Knight of the Laughing Tree was Lyanna Stark. Rheagar found out and fell in love with her, and her with him. They ran away together to escape his insane father and ridiculous feudal society of Westeros (and partly so that Rheagar could facilitate the prophecy of the Prince who was Promised). You all know the rest.
I really feel bad for Jamie after I listened to his recollection. For all his skill as a swordsman and military leader Jamie has been used as nothing but a pawn, he wasn't chosen for his skill or charm as a kingsguard but only as a way to slight Tywin and his father didn't want him back for being his son but for being his heir. Even in the present he was captured and used as a pawn for an exchange. I can see why he loves Cersei because she is the only one who sees him for who he is and not what he represents. For Cersei Jamie isn't a kingsguard, a kingslayer or the heir of Casterly Rock he is just Jamie. I believe its also the reason he respects and loves Tyrion, because Tyrion sees him as his brother and nothing else while Jamie knows how to feels to be looked at for what you represent and not who you are as a person.
Yo wtf I just discovered this after rewatching the shit ending to the show and being stuck in quarantine. Perhaps the end of the world doesn't have to be as miserable as I thought 😩😭♥️
Holy shit, the incest stsrt3d when they he was 15?!!! And then Jaime was all like fuck it I’m addicted??!!!!!! Had he even seen another girl m the hell

Having the actors narrate is a genius that many shows will never master like this. Hearing Liam Cunningham talk makes me think of his role in little princess his voice is so relaxing. Viscerys...you mad bro??? Jamie has a great narrative voice as well he sounds just as arrogant as he was..when he was younger. Robert Baratheon is one hell of a narrator
