Interesting that such a beautiful hairdo was featured in such a controversial scene, but that's Game of Thrones for you isn't it? Here is a tutorial for the gorgeous updo worn by Sansa in season 5, during the wedding at Winterfell.
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Hair Length: at least mid-torso
Materials: bobbypins, 4 small hair elastics
Skills needed: English braid
Time cost: 15-40 minutes
Ideal hairtype: any

The hairdo is really pretty, and so was her dress. Very snow-princess-like. I thought she looked breathtaking in it. Which kind of made the scene that followed even worse for me.

This hairstyle and her dress was beautiful! Although the scene was controversial, I feel it was necessary. I expected Ramsay to do such a thing.

It wasn't exactly necessary, but it was expected. By that I mean that it would be out of character for her new husband to act in a different way than he did. I think the ick factor and the anger most viewers (including me) experienced is mostly because we have watched this character grow up for 5 seasons. Similarly terrible things have happened to other characters and there was no outcry over them, but it's different when it's a character you have watched mature from child to young woman (and, officially, she is still a child, at least by modern standards).

This was my favourite hairstyle this season! I started making the dress as soon as I saw the episode! As there were no tutorials yet on how to the braids I have to work with my imagination and I found a way to make this hairstyle for someone with hair not longer than the breast area and everyone was so amazed by the result! I think your version would not work on me because my hair isn't long enough, but I really loved the interpretation you gave to this hairstyle with the double braided bun at the back. I love your tutorials! xx

The whole wedding and what followed after notwithstanding, her hairstyle was breathtaking. It seems that the only thing they do right on the show is costume/harstyle department :) That being said, that nk you so very much for this tutorial!

I got pretty close, although my bottom-of-the-rib-cage-length hair wasn't long enough to copy the style exactly. I crossed the big braids over my head like milkmaid braids and then made little spiral buns on the back of my head with the smaller braids, which worked pretty well. :)

That scene was blown way out of proportion in my opinion :/ it is GOT after all... At least they didn't show nudity, or showed it happening, you know what I mean? I'm really happy you did this turorial becsuse I absolutely adored it.

TenaciouslyTasha The problem is exactly that they DIDN'T show it happening. D&D (the producers) made it all about Theon while not giving us one shot of Sansa's face.

Everyone seems to have taken it differently, i think it was quite well done. I expected that scene and was prepared for the worst, but i think the way they "showed" it using Theon's reaction to seeing it was an interesting twist. I dont feel that they made it about Theon, it is definitely Sansa's scene in my mind. And probably quite a relief for Sophie and Iwan that they didnt have to film the nitty gritty of it, and just providing the audio part over Theon's expressions, leaving the rest to the viewers imagination.

I'm pretty sure they shot it & just didn't put it in the final cut. Sophie talked about how uncomfortable a scene it was to do (for everyone on set) in an interview.

TenaciouslyTasha It has more to do with the fact it wasn't in the books, the problem is Book Sansa has never made it on to screen, her entire storyline has been rewritten from the beginning, and this was one of the biggest changes to her character. The fact is nobody wants to show book Sansa story and her story is far better then the one in the book.

Once the braids are done you can pull on them a little to make them appear larger. It can really help to make your hair look thicker without any extensions.

J'adore vraiment tes vidéos, elles me sont très utiles (c'est d'ailleurs grâce à toi que j'ai commencé la série "Vikings", que j'adore), et spécialement celle là, car j'avais particulièrement aimé la coiffure de Sansa dans cet épisode, bien qu'il ait été un peu horrible. J'espère que tu continueras toujours ta chaîne, car tu donnes des conseils très utiles et tes coiffures (bien que tu les reproduises) sont superbes. :)

So I loved this hair due and totally tried it!!! My hair is think and roots and thin at the body so when I fluffed the braids I ended with all my hair coving my head my hair is still a bit short if I try to do the mini buns.

I love these tutorials, but I can only ever get half up half down ones to work on myself. My hair is too short for most of your updos, but too long for the ones designated for shorter hair. It's a struggle.

I read the books but couldn't see the season yet....is this about the wedding between Ramsay and "arya" ( jeyne) ? Why was sansa there? She's not supposed to be there or am I wrong?
