and the many discussions and speculations about what will happen in the next episode. Man, i'd give anything to go back to those days where everything just seemed better
Just like Marvel fuck up the ending in endgame Doctor strange could be reverse time just like Thanos did to vision Captain Marvel could had snapped the gauntlet Many more Point is the thinking of the writers who wrote according to their mind not of others that's why we don't like because things don't go according to the plan
I actually thought it was a great foreshadowing of the mad king with how Daenerys turned out. Thought the ending was a fine way to wrap up the show. Only wish Bran would’ve warged into a dragon.
@@cateyes3813 agreed. She was quite immature. Ppl blame Ned for the demise of his family but Catelyn is at fault too. She let Sansa go to King's Landing to be married off into the lannisters without even telling her anything about them. She's a fish, not a wolf.
One of the greatest protagonists ever..a character developed through seven seasons and beloved my fans worldwide...reduced to an irrelevant afterthought in that last season. I’ll never forgive Benioff and Weiss for what they did to Jon Snow. I can’t even go back and watch it from the beginning because that last season made it all mean nothing.
I feel the same way. I want to rewatch GOT so much at times but knowing how it ends just ruins all the character development. Not just for Jon, but for everyone in general.
@ The fight between Jon Snow and the Night King was built up for several seasons just for it to never happen. Last season was trash.
3 года назад
@@Jhollis67 There was literally 0 build up. Jon served his purpose to lure the dragons beyond the Wall. Jon, Sam and the other witnesses were just tools of the Night King.
@ just stop. There was tons of build up. He’s tge true king and has assembled an army to fight the night king. The only reason the fight didn’t happen is because the writers made it so. They could’ve easily made it inevitable for them to fight and pleased many fans
The fact that they basically confirmed in house of the dragon that Jon Snow is the main protagonist in GoT, and that he never even fought the night king just shows how much they dropped the ball with the last season. “From my blood will come the heir, and his song will be of ice and fire”.
@@god-of-war-fan Nope, the story of a song of Ice and fire is about the politics of men and the cycle of violence. Azor Ahai is a representation of the latter. There is no main protagonist in the series, even if the show tried (and failed) to make Jon become that. He may be at the epicenter of the magical plot, but that's neither the main focus nor the message George wrote into his books. Besides, aSoIaF is a heavily anti war story, the fact that in the show it all ended in two great battles and an attempted genocide (with a successful massacre) is the worst part.
@@maidenlessbastard show didn't 'try and fail' kiddo. the show actively sabotaged its own setup and portrayal of John as a hero for 6 seasons. anyone with a brain knows that John is clearly the intended hero. notice how he saves the world from Dany in the end?
I used to rewatch episodes multiple times because I enjoyed it so much. Then the finale came out and I haven't touched it since. It killed all the joy for me.
feel ya bro, i have even watched the last episode, still am fan of GoT but I won't ruin the years i wasted waiting for new seasons to come over for some stupid last episode
I would've loved to see Jon as King at the end, he's such a great character. His story ending felt so unfair and undeserved after he united so many people and saved so many people's lives. He would've made such a good king because he was so just and fair, plus he had the bloodline too. His whole ending seemed so abrupt and shallow, it wasn't even the entire of season 8, more just the last 5 episodes, he got such an undeserved finish
I think the point was for there not to be an Iron Throne. Too much corruption. And that that world, like our own, slowly started to shift toward ideas of democracy. And Jon was the perfect archetype of the Campbell monomyth and hero. He went on to lead people who knew, loved, and respected him, and needed him. You don't have to be a monarch to be a hero. 👍
Not sure how this is a trailer for Snow as it showed nothing of what's to come in the series but it certainly makes me remember how good GoT was. Those first 4 seasons were absolute gold. The rest were pretty good too. Obviously, season 8 was disappointing but the rest was good enough to watch over and over.
It's not a trailer for the sequel series, it's a 'Please rewatch game of thrones' trailer centred around Jon Snow's story. Basically HBO tying to get subs for HBO Max.
They could’ve mind fucked everyone in the last season with some crazy twists but they rushed everything. There didn’t seem much at stake none of the main heroes died and the big villain of the entire series died in 1 episode. Brutal for fans
Last two seasons really....HBO had wanted them to do AT LEAST 10 seasons, but the directors (D.B. Weiss and David Benioff) decided to finish it by season 8, because of them being signed up to direct a Star Wars feature film trilogy, which they ended up “walking away” from a couple months in. So really they rushed the ending of GoT, for absolutely no reason.
I would love to watch what Arya goes through after exploring where all the maps end tbh. She was heart of the show for me, or at least watching her story and her development was the most intriguing to me.
Jon Snow is the true central character of Game of Thrones. Arguably even in a way the entire “a song of ice and fire storyline”. Because despite all the politics and other things that happened at the core of everything is the prophecy essentially about the doom of the world and the chosen one meant to save the world. And that’s a Jon it always was. Game of Thrones character classification is kind of tricky tbh imo but…. *Central character:* Jon Snow/Aegon Targaryen. *Main characters:* Ned Stark, Daenerys, Tryion, Littlefinger, Night King, (considering how the show ended I guess bran… is as well 🙄) *Major characters:* (debatable) *Supporting characters:* (debatable) *Minor characters:* (debatable) *Extras:* random citizens with no lines or deeds that affected the overall story in anyway shape or form.
@@redt8311 i would make an argument for Tyrion being a central character. He interacts with the most characters in the series, he influences a lot of the story, and his story parallels Jons
Jon Snow is one of my favorite characters of all time. People get on here and say dumb stuff about him never winning, but he did wether he struck the blow or not and that's more like reality. The bravest isn't always the biggest and baddest. He went in knowing he could die every time. We should all be so lucky to have a Jon Snow in our lives ❤.
@@raphaeldbz Yeah, but nobody cares anymore. The franchise is dead. The ending killed interest in the world. It was so bad it even killed interest in the books.
Me too! At the end I was expecting an older version of Jon, in like a Targaryen/Stark kinda getup with a voice over maybe ... “I am the true king” then a flash of Bran on the throne 🤷🏻♂️ anything better than that shit ending!
Not important huh ? Gathered people in winterfell to fight the night king, killed the woman he loved for the good of realm. You could practically say he saved westeros twice in one season. Now I'm not saying he was well written in season 8, but when people say he wasn't important, I just think that's bullshit.
@@ExecuteRU-vidHandle66 Hey man you're free to like what you like, more power to you. But the way they butchered the fuck outta Dorne is unforgivable to me. That's one of the best storylines in the books and it was sooooo lame in the show.

Well, the fans of Justice League did it. They got an alternative movie for the fans due to their persistence. I truly believe GOT fans could achieve something similar.
Dude, the Night King had superhuman strength, he killed a dragon with a spear throw. Jon's fighting style is face-to-face warrior, he'd be overpowered by the Night King. Only a trained assassin could kill him. That was Arya.
I knooow. I was hoping that they would have a duel in the throne room while the walkers laid siege to Kings Landing. But of course they couldn't have the most interesting enemy interact with the most interesting location in the show. That would be to obvious. It really should've all culminated to one huge battle between the living and the dead in/around Kings Landing. I was 100% sure that was going to happen. The biggest disappointment of my life.
Wait for this.... have one gay character, strong woman possibly several and a diverse cast of every race.... HBO avoided this a little with house of the dragon, but going to go ahead and call it for this show.
Kit Harington did a truly wonderful portrayal of Jon Snow and it is honestly sad he only got to say the 2 same meme sentences over and over again in season 8.
I don’t know what season you guys watched. He literally had the longest monologue of the entire show, and probably the longest 1 on 1 conversation with Tyrion. I swear people didn’t even watch the last season and are just repeating the memes.
Jon snow or Aegon Targaryen is the song of ice and fire. The whole point of the series was for him to defeat the Nights King. It was prophecised thousands of years ago, that the long night would come, and the prince that was promised will bring dawn upon the world. It is why Rhaegar took Lyanna as his wife, even at the risk of war and the downfall of the Tarharyen dynasty, it would bring the pact of ice and fire into fruition. It was never for love, but him doing it out of a sense of duty.

@@redt8311 they just ruined the show. They just made Jon snow the useless character at the end. I mean Jon snow deserved a better story. They put alot pressure on Jon snow character but at the end they just made him useless. I hope Jon snow will deserve better in his series
The showrunners took TWO books (AFFC and ADWD) and merged them into ONE season of the show, Season 5. That itself should have told you what was going on and the morons in charge. It was screwed right then and there and each season got progressively worse. GRRM himself said he expected 12 seasons from his material, but instead we got 7.5 seasons. Each of those two merged books could have been 2 seasons on their own. Dumb and Dumber wanted a cashgrab and when they saw they were going to get another check from Disney, they bounced.
I remember having goosebumps during the battle of the bastards when the Calvary is charging towards Jon alone in the field and he stands sword in hand, with no fear, ready to die with honour, one of the shows greatest moments
YESSS! Battle of the Bastards was for me, the highest point of the show. The red wedding and Jeoffry's death come close, but the Battle of the Bastards was the best for me.
The battle of the bastards is my favorite scene in the entire series. Second would be frozen lake battle. When Jon almost “drowns” in the pile of the dead and is pulled out!! 🔥🔥🔥 and then when the calvary came? 😭😭😭😭 epic just epic.
The highest point was fighting the wildings at the wall with the mammoths and giants that shit was unreal. Battle of the bastards was stupid and rushed if they had waited Sansa arrived with little finger not 30 minutes into it his little brother still be alive
It did matter a great deal, that’s a really shallow take. Everything came down to Jon bc he is the son of ice and fire. And bc of who he is as a person. This trailer alone shows that❤️
Don’t mistake his laudable personal qualities for the huge plot hole that was the eventual uselessness of his lineage. I’m not saying he wasn’t an important and honorable character in the story (you could even say he was these things despite being a Targaryen). My premise is that there was a massive build-up to his eventual revelation as the true heir to the Iron Throne, and the whole associated plot line just fizzled out in the end. That part of the story-line simply didn’t matter. He could have stayed the bastard son of Ned Stark, and it wouldn’t have made any difference otherwise.
@@dudeebeard9989 except he will be a Targaryen in the books. The whole reason dumb and dumber got the job is because they correctly guessed who Jon’s parents were

I believe Jon's actual parents are ned stark and ashara dayne. Order of the greenhand (an excellent youtube channel that produces many theories on a song of ice and fire based on clues from the text) has pointed out expertly why Jon snow logistically can not be the son of Lyanna stark and Rhaegar Targaryen. They also use evidence to point that more than likely, Young Griff aka Aegon vI. R + L = A!!!!!! N + A = J!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cried for 1 hour after watching last episode of season 8 only for Jon snow. They did horrible injustice with this character. All the years, the character development all in vain.
All GoT is built up on injustice and unexpected outcomes, never understood why people are mad about ending, everything is like it should be. Plus we don't know what to expect from new show and how things will develop there.

@@andrespedraza8659 George Martin has frequently discussed how he likes to play with the audience's expectation. Game of Thrones starts with an honourable man losing his life and the son taking up arms against the family that killed his father, because that's what you expect good men to do. Then George kills the son, in shocking fashion. This theme occurs repeatedly, for many characters, it's what makes it great reading/TV! We were fed breadcrumbs about Jon's true parents from the very first book, the 'true king' for 'his story'. But it turns our you're right, no one gives a shit who his parents are because people don't care about that sort of stuff... Oh, wait, but the fact that he's the true king makes him Dany's nephew, a fact that Jon himself can't deal with and he turns his back on her right when she's lost everything else. That's the moment that makes her chose ruling by fear vs love. It's the moment that changes EVERYTHING. But it's not what you were expecting so it's 'bad' and boils your blood. Jon's entire story did not culminate in him being crowned king like you and many thought he would. It simply forced him to make the most hideous of choices you could ask of someone and he made it, because duty is the death of love. "The only thing worth writing about is the human heart in conflict with itself". "if you think this has a happy ending you haven't been paying attention". The clues were all there. This wasn't a Holywood block-buster. It was a tragedy, an utterly brilliant one.
@@khimaros You have explained this so well because I struggled to express to those who are so angry and disatisfied with the ending why it ended the way it did. For me I understood that G.O.T is not a fairytale so I expected the unexpected, it hurt not to see him be who most of us wanted him to be, and rightfully so, but that is the whole point, for it to be a tragedy. Sorry this is just fantasy about fantasy lol. No where in the books is Jon Snow even alluded to as Aegon the Lost. The character HBO merged with Jon Snow’s actually only had a few scenes in the two most recent books. As Daenerys makes her way to Dragonstone, rumors of a child kind are spread by a few houses disaffected with the constant warfare, most notable the Martell house. This kid doesn’t fit the right age, but he claims he is is Dany’s nephew and the only surviving son of Prince Rhaegar Targaryen and Princess Elia Martell of Dorn. When the Lanisters stormed Kings Landing Ser Gregor Clegane smashed the heads of a pair of fraternal twins in front of Princess Elia. Elia is then killed. Rhaegar isn’t in Kings Landing at the time. That’s one of the reasons why he takes Lyanna Stark as prisoner. In the books jr is never clear which story is true: that Rhaegar loved Lyanna, and decided to act quickly after the death of his children and wife otherwise he would be married off to Cersei, and Lyanna to Robert Baratheon. The most likely event is that Rhaegar did find Lyanna attractive but upon hearing what happened in Kings Landing, she was the closest high born hostage he could find that wound gain the attention of the country. He then raped and killed her. But it’s never mentioned anywhere that they have a baby. And even if they did, it would be a Bastard because there was no evidence of Rhaegar marrying Lyanna after the death of Elia. So even if Jon Snow was born of Lyanna and Rhaegar he stkkk would have a lesser claim to the throne than Danny because she is a true born princess of House Targaryen. Moreover, no Targaryen has had been documented as having brown hair and brown eyes. So HBO merged the rape and killing of Lyanna with that of the Lannister’s murdering Princess Elia and her two children by bashing in their heads. Later on after News speads of the famous warrior Queen with her dragons setting sail to reclaim the iron throne, some people start parading around a 12-year old boy who they die his hair blonde and make him wear purple contacts. They say Clegan smashed in the heads of the babies because when he found Princess Elia, with her twin boy and girl Clegan noticed Elia was smiling triumphantly telling him he was too late. The rumor goes he looked in the cribs and there was a Targaryen baby 😢girl with platinum hair and purple eyes, but the boy was of plain looks, brown hair and brown eyes. Clegan knew she switched her son with a peasant in order to save his life. Hence why Clegan smashes the skulls so no one can notice the differences. In the book series this 12-year-old is claiming to be the rightful heir to the throne. But in the books Dany meets with with her fake nephew and sees if the dragons will notice his blood. They don’t. And the boy is burned and eaten by Drogon. So no, Jon Snow as never meant to be anything more than a super hot character to distract us from time to time. In the books Snow is also bisexual, which is completely left out by HBO. That’s one of the reasons he joins the Watch. While there he has numerous gay sex partners, and most notably has a threesome with the King of the Wildlings, as well as the Kings wife. Wish they showed Snow banging a dude in the HBO show that would have been better than making him into a long awaited king.
John Snow's story was one whose story was intertwined with almost every character in the show, he shows how a follower could leader. How a bastard without a title could be worthy to lead the Army of the North. But in the end, it did not matter, because it was rushed and cut short. His bloodline did not matter when in reality it could've made him the True KING.
The son of the dragon, the son of the wolf. The prince that was promised and the song of ice and fire. (The show didn't really place any importance on it, but the books definitely will).
You know what’s funny is in order for them to get approval or making the show with hbo GRRM asked them one question and that was who’s Jon’s true parents and they got it right and THEN FUCKING NUKED IT in the end
@@terizacharov7937 well, technically he was banished to THE WALL, and then he basically just went "fuck that, i'm going north with my friends and i'm never coming back". He's the true hero of the story, and always gets treated like shit for it. That's who Jon Snow is.
HBO had nothing to do with it. They wanted to make more seasons but Dumb and Dumber got bored of the show and bribed by Disney to make Star Wars. That new project got cancelled thankfully.
Jon truly did carry this show for 8 seasons. The underdog who did what was right regardless of his fate. A truly good person screwed over time and time again. We do need a spin off and a retcon of season 5 through 8
lmao couldnt be more wrong .he never carried the show at all 1-4 seasons nobody really gave a shite about him and then he was great in 5 and 6 then after that he was boring again
I dont think his 'character' was special at all, but the writing of the events that happened to/surrounding him was phenomenal. His acting was pretty bland imo. Just any generic quiet, talented, honorable guy who was in the middle of a bunch of exciting and dramatic stuff.
The one True King of Westeros. Jon even as a bastard was always chosen by the people to lead them and he always did the best for them. Shame on D&D for butchering what could have been a truly epic character arc (not to mention the whole Night King storyline -again- a shame)
I found out how to do strikethrough. I knew bold was the asterisk * symbol on either side, apparently Italic is the underscore _ symbol on either side and strikethrough is the hyphen - symbol on either side (no space between symbol and words)
He is supposed to fight an epic battle with the night king, then he should be crowned king in the end. And Bran should just return to the forest and continue to be the three eyed raven. How come their role got swap ???
Don't worry guys, this show did not give Jon what he deserved and what was truly written for him but new series of Jon will complete all the necessary things
Jon snow he is the who kept me to watch in the end of this series. At first thought he is my favourite character on this show but truly he is my favourite character all time. He is king in the north and rightful heir to the iron throne. King in the north you will always be in my heart as a king.
But the implication is that Spring is coming and North of the Wall will be fertile again (the grass pushing up). And in the book (if it's ever finished) I think Val will be waiting for him. If not, we riot.
I love him as well, that’s why I really like his ending. Jon, just like Ghost, belongs North of the Wall. That’s the only time he ever truly lived. A place where they don’t care about bastard or family name. He’ll be so much happier in that frozen waste, than he would’ve anywhere else. And he’s with Tormund and Ghost.
@SmallmoneyYT Sansa saved him by having him “exiled” to trick unsullied not to kill him. He was then sent free beyond the wall. He wanted to go watch s8e4 when he is leaving for kings landing and tell me he doesn’t want to go with his people. Jon Snow had a great ending for him just not for you.
The editing in this is seamless. Well done. Just like everyone else, I wish they had kept the same quality as S1-S4, and hadn’t screwed up the ending. It will always hurt.
He went from basically being the sent off bastard to leader of the nights watch, to the white wolf and the man who brought together wildlings and northmen, Azor Ahai, the real heir of the iron throne to shed mah queen and yeah I’ll go north for the rest of my life
