I agree with Bliss!! Theon and Sansa just have a strong platonic sibling-like relationship from being raised together and having gone through hell and back with each other. Just a wholesome duo that saved each other ❤
Dany looking with eyes full of jealousy as Theon hugs Sansa, because all of these people have incredibly interconnected stories, they all have travelled this twisted road together and suffered together, while Dany was executing slavers in meereen. For the first time in her adult life, her subjects are not looking at her as this figure to be worshipped, but with suspicion. She is truly an outsider here.
Executing slavers/liberating slaves. Subjects/Followers. Outsider? OK. But she gave them dragonglass. She saved the silly expedition to get the wight. Suspended her battle against Cersei to save the North. Will help destroy her. And in all fairness it’d a truce in the North, a situation as under King Robert. Meanwhile, what has the North given back? I just don’t think we need to help Dan and Dave write Danny into the villlIan’s role w/out a little defense.
This is by far my favorite episode of this season. The tone, the reunions and coming togethers of everybody in this episode is nearly perfect. I love every moment. Let me amend my original statement. This is my favorite episode of seasons 5-8.
Arya believes she very well may die, she wanted to experience something that she never has that she hears about and sees all the time. "In an interview Maisie Williams gave, she said the show runners left the decision about how much to show up to her. She said everyone was very respectful during the shoot, but everyone trying not to look made her more nervous than she ready was."
The knighting of Brienne is an easter egg as she is believed to be a descendant of Dunk the tall in the book "A knight of the seven kingdoms". There will be a prequel coming out about it.
I know I am a music nerd and would probably be the ONLY person to catch this type of thing but just when the little kid was saying they wanted to go to battle and fight - when you all made the helms deep comment… The musical score was recalling the melody Shireen Baratheon was singing when we first met her seasons ago… The music implied the feeling we should connect with is such pure heart. That definitely came through. It’s just amazing how precise Djiwadi is with his scoring. Doesn’t miss a beat. Ok. Tangent done. Oh- and I also thought Sansa and Theon chemistry when I saw that moment play out
Arya had a crush in him in the earlier seasons, and I think the point was for her to experience a little glimpse of normalcy, in a life that has been all about revenge and killing.
I must say..I will miss this trio when your GoT reactions conclude. I have enjoyed your insights and reactions to this show and wish you all the best !
So, I have a question, It´s more of a curiosity.. are you guys friends or brother and sisters? I beleive you mentioned something before about Trin and Bliss being sisters. I always thought you were triplets.. am I too far off? 😊
I tell you this just because I think you have finished already on patreon. The thing about Jaime killing Cersei is a very common theory of the books. When Cersei went to see the witch, Maggy the Frog, she told her one more thing that wasn't put on the show. She said to Cersei in the prophecy that the valonqar (which means younger brother in High Valyrian) would strangle her with his hands after she witnessed all deaths of her children. She hated Tyrion because her mother died giving birth of him. So she thought Tyrion would be her demise. But Cersei is minutes older than her twin brother, Jaime.
yep yep, also in the books Jaime keeps repeating in his head what Tyrion told him “she was fucking the Kettleblacks, etc etc, and probably even MoonBoy”
It would make perfect sense for Jaime to kill Cersei as a mercy death, in the same way Jon killed Mance. If he knew Daenerys was about to capture her and torture her to death, and he couldn't prevent it, he might give her a quicker death out of love. And if he had no weapon, he'd likely strangle her.
I agree...it would've been better if Gendry pursued Arya instead. I think that's my biggest issue with season 8 as a whole...the writers spent so much of it trying to pander to what they thought the audience wanted to have happen & forgot what made the show so great in the first place. The best thing about GOT has always been that you didn't always get what you wanted...that it was shocking and sad. People we loved died...pretty regularly, whether you liked it or not. Somewhere along the line, they forgot that the show is supposed to be sad & uncomfortable...that's why you couldn't stop watching it.
Tv show suggestion for when you finish The Last Kingdom Its got a similar vibe to Game of Thrones, but set in Vikings era. Really great series on Netflix 🙂🙏
Looking forward to next ep’s reaction. Review of predictions, please! Arya’s sex scene was Awk as F. All that, plus they’ve turned her into this traumatized emotionless assassin. I mean she barely gives Jon a hug, kinda wanted to kill her sister on some level. It’s just weird with her. And she’s not Bran!😆
The Arya scene felt sooooo forced! It was literally just like, "oh, you're 18? Cool, you'll get a scene aswell." Like, It's just weird and doesn't at all fit her character!
I disagree about Arya. She might die tomorrow and literally said she wanted to feel what it was like to be with someone before she died. She already had feelings for Pod, and trusts him, so who better for her to spend that night with, some stranger? I think it was just us having a hard time separating the child she was with the woman she has become. She was a woman in her own mind, making her own decision. Also, I bet Pod Sang for those ladies in the Brothel and charmed them so much, that is why they did not charge him.
