Roundabouts are very regional in the US. Even within certain states, some cities have many and some have none. You could drive several thousands miles (or kilometers) and not find a roundabout.
And others have started introducing them, generally with the result of much cursing because people behave completely unpredictably as no one knows how they are meant to work.
there is one town and now county in Indiana that has the most round abouts in the world. the mayor of one town lived in the UK and fell in love with them and started adding them when he became mayor, reduced accidents considerably.
You can win by crushing deliberately and having 2 other teams help you box Bini but never one on one. Bini simply the best sprinter in the world 👑 hats off

Living in St. Louis, MO there have been more and more roundabouts incorporated over the last 10 years with any new road construction. They are commonplace now and people are getting better at using them.

I’m Canadian and we have very few roundabouts here, but the authorities have caught on that it’s a brilliant way of keeping traffic flowing so more and more are appearing. There are close to none the US…
In N.C. we say traffic circle. I would bet the US is quickly adding these in all metropolitan areas. - so catching up to Europe. Funny thing where I worked for a bike shop, some circles were added and of all things within a year or so two cyclists managed to botch getting through one. Both destroyed there bikes cracking/bending their top tubes. I would have thought a bike would do OK transitioning these but, nope.

There is no ‘right way’ round a roundabout in the race convoy. There might be quicker route if the entrance and exit aren’t lined up, but it’s fine to go either way.
The race isn't over for Biniam Girmay, we will see who will win the green jersey at the end. But it would be better to bring the video who deliberately crushed Biniam in the first place with all the captured videos angles if you were honest on your discussion.
We indeed do have round-about in the US. We started introducing them 15ish years ago and it caused lots of drama in the small towns in Washington state. 😂
We have roundabouts everywhere here. In atlanta anyway. Suburbs, metro, etc. they’re not like the ones in London, but we definitely have multi-lane roundabouts here ( Atllanta, GA & surrounding area ) and plenty in places in Florida.
There are not many roundabouts in Canada either although ironically, of the few that there are one is 30 metres from my house. I was born in the UK so it is quite comforting!!!
Roundabouts are becoming more common place here in USA. But I don’t think they are everywhere throughout the country. In Washington state I’m seeing more and more to help keep traffic moving and removing lights and dangerous intersections. So many roundabouts in the final stage of the sprint stages makes it so much more dangerous, sad to see Bini crash today but hopefully he will finish the tour and take home the green jersey.

Inter-Marche & Bini (not a pure Sprinter)'s inexperience was definitely spotlighted today. They got bullied in the intermediate sprint & also in the final. They usually get to the front too early & not in the right place, definitely today, and then today got shuffled too far back as the kms clicked away. WHY was Bini NOT on the wheel of Jasper. Alpecin has the best leadout train in the Tour and ever since Jasper won his first, they are determined to get the Green jersey. How did Bini crash with EF riders - NO where near the front.🤬😥😱 and if Bini & his team don't learn from their mistakes, they will lose that Jersey.

Man, what are you talking about? If Bini (the fighter) is not a pure sprinter how an earth he made 3 times in one of the biggest cycling competitions. Anyway, crushing is part and parcel of cycling especially in events like stage 16. I believe sprinters with their strength need a luck.
Roundabouts in the USA? It varies depending on the part of the country. I’m in a small northeastern state and we have quite a few. Some are larger two-lane wide for higher traffic areas, and even some small towns have them. The small town roundabouts here have grown in popularity in the last couple of decades as they tend to keep traffic flowing better than intersections with stops, yielding, and particularly left turns (here, driving on the right side) where you are crossing lanes and increasing risk of collisions.
In Sarasota, Florida, we have roundabouts for large intersections. Unfortunately, many of us are older and slow down for these, which drives the younger drivers crazy.
Roundabouts are becoming more and more common. My small town/city in Iowa (Waterloo/Cedar Falls ~80k) have added them in the past 10 years. Almost all new roadwork includes adding a roundabout when possible.

Everywhere I have been in many various states is the US roundabouts are becoming more and more common. Even in intersections where I thought they weren’t necessary.
American here (Upstate New York). Roundabouts - we got em. Way more 4-way intersections with traffic lights, but most suburban towns around here have at least one roundabout.
Lots of roundabouts in the USA. As @elmills81 says, they are concentrated in states/communities that prioritize them over traffic lights. Lots in the north east, as those began a long time ago. I've seen a lot in Colorado and Washington (states.)

American here--Northern Californian, to be precise. And we do have some roundabouts in the states, especially in more progressive communities. I rather like taking them, particularly on the bike. But I may be in the minority: When they built one here in my home town a few years back, the city practically had to mount an educational campaign to teach the noobs how they work. Lesson still hasn't quite sunk in with some of the locals.🤦♀
I the USA, there are a fair amount of roundabouts in the Northeadt aection of the country. I live in New Jersey (16 miles outside of New York City) and there is a roundabout not 2 miles from my house.
