John Riggs: RIGG'd Games I think the best option for MJR to do there is to buy all of the boxed Nintendo stuff while he was there for the cheap price and bring them to Kelsey at Pink Gorilla and sell to her for what he paid. Lady doesn't have to drive to Seattle and Kelsey probably gets a better deal on the games.
I appreciate you saying that. I think some people don't know how Craigslist works where all the risk is on ME because it's not like I could test them and the seller sets the price. I basically saved all the games I could afford from the fire :)
MetalJesusRocks I understand where you're coming from. I would basically be buying them for the box on the Nintendo games. Those are much harder to find than the actual cartridge. Hopefully she does bring them into Kelsey :)
Reggie is seriously the best guest you have next to Kelsey. Reggie and you just gel together and you really should have him on as much as possible, these pick up videos are some of my favorite.
Same here.. and the thing that really gives me goosebumps is, what games *did* she have a chance to burn?? Just really hoping there wasn't any one-off prototypes in her hands.

Guys, honestly. One of the best vlogs yet. The pace is on point, good chemistry and great finds. What I like so much are the games MJR has because I can relate to them. And the picks Reggie has are great because they are in my personal 'obscure' line of games. Really cool to see such great games shown as a discovery for me. And to top it off it is great to see you guys compliment each other about these titles, like you bought each others top picks :D
Glad to hear you got The Binding of Issac! It is one of the best, if not the best, retro-inspired indie games out. I've been considering a switch for the sole purpose of having The Binding of Issac on the go. I think that's the only physical version too. Double plus good!
People used to cut the UPC codes out and mail them to the game companies to register their video game. If they registered enough, the customer might get a t-shirt or something. You would fill out a short survey along with sending the UPC code. This was a way for game companies to see what kind of people (gender, age group, etc.) were buying their games back in the day.
I can testify about some of the games that some people think are "worthless"....several years ago I was walking back from a grocery run when I saw a box beside a public trash receptacle Open the box up and I see a bunch of PS1 games. NOT sports titles but nearly all RPGs. So I grabbed the box and put it on my cart to take home, thinking that at worst, I could use the cases because I assumed they were empty. They weren't. When I got home and started going through the stuff I found that, not only were they all there but that the discs didn't have a scratch on them. This was Tales of Destiny, Lunar Silver Star Story Complete, Breath of Fire 4, Beyond the Beyond, Castlevania SotN, Final Fantasy Tactics, FF8 and a bunch more, and also a Final Fantasy II (4, SNES) just the cart. Around the time I found them (2012) I estimated there was about $1K worth of games there. Just laying beside a trash can.
I did keep what I wanted to keep, but the other stuff (where I had duplicates or just wasn't interested in them) I sold off to fund a new motherboard, graphics card, hard drive and memory. That way, someone else benefits from my luck and I got to upgrade my computer.
If one wants to play them, absolutely nothing. But generally, sports titles do not hold much value to a collector and thus, after a few years most can be had for a few dollars (most, not all, like in the case of the NES classic Tecmo Bowl). The games I found in this box were nearly all classic and/or rare PS1 JRPGs, most of which are highly sought-after from both a player and a collector's market.

Mad respect to you guys for your love of games and collecting. My own collection isn't near yours but I've gotten a few gems over the years as well. Great taste in games as well. Xenosaga was a great series that unfortunately didn't finish like it should have.

I love your pickup vids, especially the ones with your awesome guests! I like the whole way that you shoot unscripted footage during them, but then put some polish on them in production. Gives them a great friendly feel, like I'm hanging out with you guys in the game room while you check out your latest scores.
Unfortunately, the human race is full of such folly. She chose not to look them up before Jason mentioned it to her. Not the smartest behavior, but it happens millions of times a day all over the world.

The amount of money Reggie could save without wasting money on games that are just junk... I collect games only the ones that I am going to actually play not just hoard everything that's cheap.
I like how your crew looks out for each other ,if Reggie sees a title he knows you gonna like he double buys it and for other members too that's love .

Great video, I love the stories behind finding these games. It's actually inspired me to start hunting in the past few months. I scored a working FZ-10 3DO for $25, several games much cheaper than their value, and my current pride and joy a boxed NES Deluxe Set almost complete (missing the little gyro discs), fully working for $40.

Duke Nukem 3D was my first multiplayer experience. Some how mind blowing. I enjoy a lot of these game pickups videos. Many games I have ever heard and also games which I have heard and more better played those also. Thank you about these.
