Welcome to a Special Edition of the Game Plan Series in collaboration and partnership with Sneakers To Scrubs. Sneakers To Scrubs is an organization created by former collegiate and professional athletes who have transitioned from sports to medical school. Our first speaker of this gifted group and future physician is Mr. Marcus Allen.
Marcus Allen competed in collegiate basketball at Stanford University, earning a PAC-12 All-Defensive Team spot and 2x PAC-12 All-Academic recognition. He contributed to a Sweet 16 NCAA appearance and secured the NIT championship. Following college, he played professional basketball for four years, including stints with Karhu Basket in Finland, the South Bay Lakers in the NBA G-League, and the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA. Now a first-year medical student at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, he aims to reshape healthcare to serve diverse communities better.
