This is quite a nice collection you’ve curated. I really appreciate your more deliberate approach to collecting games you played in your youth or that you know you want to play. Great collection, great organization, and great apartment in general.
@@Cannotbetamed1 I have to actively search and don’t get notifications of this channel. YT stinks. Any inane bland rubbish from IGN and it’s plastered all over my recommended section. I watch all your videos and make a comment or two. “Further interest” it’s called I think. It’s a disgrace. Corporate slime balls.
I agree with your approach to collecting. Their has to be an endgame to what and why you collect.Props to your Sega CD collection, it doesn’t get enough love.
I always appreciate when someone has a much more condensed and personal collection because it shows a lot more personality than those who just have everything and don't even have space for all of it to be displayed properly.
That's me. I feel like anymore I don't belong in collector groups because they are all about owning everything and never removing from the shrink-wrap and collecting every variant and when I show my my collection in binders they freak out and send me threats... I feel like I have to defend the fact that everyone should collect in the way that works for THEM and makes THEM happy. Whether that's reproductions or digital copies or bare carts and discs in a binder or whatever. There's no need to collect every game ever made to impress people and complete-setters annoy me because they drive up prices even for junk games.
@@darinherrick9224 Exactly. I have over 500 games across multiple consoles and I feel like that's up there for me already and becoming hard to manage in my current space and I constantly trade stuff I don't care for. Yet, I see all these collector's on RU-vid with way more games than me and just tons of filler in their collection. Like, what's the goal eventually? Have as many games as possible? Open up a museum? What's the endgame to having every Switch game? I only get what I want and if a game is really special to me, then I understand the need to "collect" their many iterations. But when you find yourself buying shovelware and just shelving it to collect dust, how do you not question yourself? Especially when they're taking patreon money and have all that expendable cash to do such things.
@@Turo602 I got around 1000 games across all platforms but I'm always trying to shrink the collection. And I'm trying to try out games at the public library or play ROMs before buying. The problem is all these services that keep giving me free games!
You know it's a serious gaming appartment when there are two tv's setup in the same room. Very jealous of the balcony, wish I had one or a garden. Going to dip back into this throughout the week, 2+ hours goes by quick with home working though
Wow, a two hour review of a gaming apartment. Very cool. I’m so jealous even though I’m happy with my own collection, which is way smaller. My wife would love this apartment.
Hi! Few things to start off with =) 1. Yes I added you because you're a female gamer, 'tis and awesome thing to see! 2. I'm Brian 3. Don't be intimidated, but I'm not a stereotypical guy. If anything, I'll be the one in the kitchen =D.
The Tea Party! I thought I was the only person who has ever heard of them hahaha Fire In The Head and Turn The Lamp Down Low are amazing! Got this back in '94 and not one person I have showed them to has ever heard of them lol
It’s cool to see how your taste and sense of style in games changed through the years if you put everything in chronological order. This was really a real feat to record and edit. And was a great watch with a few cups of coffee after a long work day. Most people want a gaming room, while you have a gaming home! How cool is that!! 😆😆
Just a bit of trivia about a game you own. Dragon Power is actually a reskin of one of the Dragon Ball games that got released on the NES. At the time Dragon Ball wasn't known at all in north america, so it followed the trend of reskins that occured at the time (it was more common to create an original art box than reskin the whole game... I'm not sure why they went through so much trouble) In France however, Dragon Ball was already very popular, which makes it (I think) the very first console game (at least Nintendo one) to ever get a french translation. The translation is awful though. Crappy game though :) If you really want to experience it, I strongly advise using the code to get more hit points (I forgot the exact manipulation, something like selct+D-Pad on the second controller or something) Otherwise you need skill and luck to get through it. Other stupid France related trivia, the artwork of the US version of Castlevania SOTN is St Michel Mount located in Normandy. Which is why I couldn't resolve myself to buy it when I found a mint version for around 15€ back in 2000. I ended up buying the japanese version for 99€ several years later. (edit: typos)
Yes but the Gameboy Color Version on the Retroad SFC52HD or Retroad 5 Plus with the GB/GBC Extension Converter from Ali-Express. She hates Gameboy though. ☹
R.e. Bladerunner. ScummVM (2019) version is worth a look. Plus an enhanced edition is the works. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blade_Runner_(1997_video_game)#Sequel_and_re-release
You know more about your games than I do mine! My video would be me saying “I probably bought this because it was ten dollars, I never played it” about 200 times.
What is your favorite Xena Season? Were you disappointed with Season 5 and 6 too? Did you also watch Hercules Legendary Journeys? I liked Legend of Dragoon much when I was a kid. But I played it again few weeks ago and the battle system is soooo slow. Magic Animations take forever. Never before heard someone say X-2 is their favorite wtf :D
Amazing collection. I want that Lunar for the ps1. I just think this game is awesome for the case the map the book. The gameplay. I dont play jrpg games, it looks like a great game. But I just need to have this game in my collection.
Love your Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shirt and the apartment looks really cute, I’m a big collector too but I am the same as you I collect ones that mean something to me, your really cute!
That looks expensive, I normally only buy games that I will replay later on and games I absolutely love. I only have about 16-20 games in all. I sell games that just didn’t do it for me.
You MUST try the game SCARFACE: The World Is Yours for Xbox. I played that game for almost a year to get 100% completion. Tons of cool missions! The guy that voices Tony Montana sounds exactly like him, btw. Word has it that Al Pacino gave approval to the guy that did the voice of TM. Great job w/ your Vid - just subbed!!
Yo I just found your channel and I gotta say I'm Obsessed, ha! I've watched 3 already and I just love your presentation and your commentary. I'm glad the RU-vid algorithm showed me your stuff. Keep it up Pam!
This has me feeling all kinds of nostalgiac. I need to reach out to some old friends and see if they have any of their old systems so we can stay up all night playing games and telling fart jokes.
Useless comment of the day, but i actually fall asleep to this video every night as background noise for about the last year. No volume spikes or anything and just talking. Guess its like asmr or something. So don’t take offense or anything lol i just picked a random video that I’ve already seen so I wouldn’t stay up and watch it
Astyanax was a cool game as a kid! As like a 9-year-old the intro to the boss music always gave you a case of the uh-ohs. I have NO idea how well the game holds up, but I'm certain it's worth experiencing at least once.
Wow Pam that is an amazing setup you have. Gives me those warm nostalgia giggles. When my daughter was born I sold my retro collection to be all adult responsible. Seeing that boxed copy of Lunar put a big ol smile on my face. I miss the boxed sets and reading through the old manuals. Glad to see there are still great collections out there. Thanks for the hardward links!
Mega Man 3 would make a good review because of how it contrast and compares to Mega Man 2. It should provide lots of content. Loved seeing your NES collection. The happiest day oif my life is when Grampa surprised me with my NES. I built a decent collection until my sister lost it. Well sghe denies it, maybe a shitbird relative stole them. I hope this is not too forward. When you buy games with a friend, room mate or what have you. How do you divy up the collection if things go sour?
Love your Sega CD collection! I live in Japan, but my nostalgia is for the North American version of consoles, so when I want an american version of a game, I have to import, which is sad because Famicom, Super Famicom, Mega CD, Mega Drive games are so easy and cheap to find here...! But, specially older games, it's all in Japanese, without language selection, with a few exceptions (Super Metroid). The last one I imported was the NTSC-U version of Perfect Dark for N64.
omg impressive! I stopped buying physical games a few years ago unless its from a fav franchise. My game collection is in a very sorry state compared to yours 😅
Came for the great T-shirt, stayed for (unfortunately short) SNES collection. I'm used to Japanese/European desing, with smooth edges and multicoloured joypad buttons, so this NA look of SNES always confuses me =) Cheers!
The reason I like your channel a lot is that a lot of gamer channels to me seem “over emphasized” when they talk and try to make they’re life more interesting and fun than it actually is. In other words, it’s not genuine to me, almost fake. Your channel on other hand, every video I’ve seen you do, you seem pretty legitimate and true to yourself In your commentary. I’ve always been that way on my channel (I have matured and changed so much over the 8 years doing RU-vid. BUT I have always been my true self 100 percent of the time, just a lot of changes. I’m sure you think you’ve changed from when you started till now) sorry for the long comment but I’m glad I found your channel. Ima make a podcast one day talking about games and stuff. Definitly gonna give your channel a shoutout before I start it for sure. It’s fine if you don’t comment back or anything, just wanted to let you know your awesome :v
I have one of those "multi-level" computer desks. The keyboard is placed slightly lower than a regular desk, so my arms don't have to be raised so high -- less tiring in the long run. My monitor is placed sightly higher than a regular desk, which seems just right for my eyes -- an important point since aA lot of monitors today (such as mine) don't have adjustable height and/or tiltable screen. When I google computer desks today, I hardly see these multi-level desks anymore.
I never hear a mention of Low G Man in any gaming videos. Well it's a action platformer with some enjoyable mechanics. I borrowed it from a friend and really liked it. I think the G is gravity. Awesome video Pam thank you so much. Take care. 💙😎
I'm the exact same way with the Nintendo switch controllers. I can't play with the joycon. It gives me carpal tunnel. I have the hori split pad pro. So worth it. Xbox is also my platform of choice and preferred. Thanks for the video Pam. I still gotta watch it all lol.
ok the thumbnail grabbed me seeing all those glorious jewel cases for sega cd. i still have all of my old sega cd games but don’t have the sega cd anymore. yeah the nes games are great but sega cd was a gamechanger for me and i fell in love with that expansion system and its games like Mansion of the Lost Souls and The Adventures of Willie Beamish
Damn, thanks for taking the time to make such a huge, comprehensive collection video! Great to see all the games and hear all the memories. Also, love the Turtles shirt and the animal cameos in the beginning!
ha, no. The walkthrough was the only thing I recorded while my lunch was waiting. I had already filmed it a few times but didn't like any of them and decided to do it again.
@@Cannotbetamed1 without question!I had to put off moving because of the pandemic, so hopefully when things start to settle down my husband and I can get out if here. And hopefully I can build up my collection more like you have done!
@@Cannotbetamed1 I know the appearance is not for everybody but the Dual sense controller is really Amazing and there's already some cool games for it, way more than the Series X so far at least
Hello from Ukraine! Pam you have nice game room and cool games! Thank you! I like XBOX Sega,Dendi and Nintendo. In USSR (80's) i was play ...ATARI, ZX Spectrum, Nintendo Game and Watch (Micky Mouse Eggs, Wolf, Racing, Cook, Deep ocean ...) and Slot Mashines . Today i have XBOX ONE S,X, XBOX SERIES S,X PS4. In the 1985 i was see Star Wars - 4,5. I like Star wars (movies and games)...STAR WARS - BATTLEFRONT 1,2 and STAR WARS JEDI: FALLEN ORDER, STAR WARS - JEDI OUTCAST 2, STAR WARS KNIGHT - JEDI ACADEMY. I like Indiana jones movies and games. INDIANA JONES - THE INFERNAL MASHINE (1999) and INDIANA JONES - THE IMPEROR TOMB (2003). Thank you Pam!
Well i have watched it all now and that was excellent, Thanks Pam. Must of been hard work to put this one together and so many things to talk about - You are right about Rayman being deceptively difficult and i liked the Big Box PC games section, The LucasArts games are awesome and The Dig is one of your finest reviews 👍 And Max at the end was the perfect ending.
Such a cool glimpse into your world.. so many video games!!! We're roughly the same age; I think I've got three years on you. I have the same sentimental love of the original NES, it was part of so much of my childhood too. But then I could never get into the consoles that came after... to this day, I haven't been able to embrace anything other than desktop gaming or original NES (or Switch) and even the desktop gaming only came after a twenty year break from video games entirely. You're a great guide while I explore what's out there. Thanks for sharing!
I play SEGA-CD on real hardware SOC with my Mega Everdrive Pro and Retroad 5 plus 7" HDMI handheld with the Megadrive adapter. 98% compatibility I just can't seem to get cutscene audio but all other sounds are there. Popful Mail is my favorite always for CD games. I love the GB/GBC Extension Converter too. Ali-Express has all the Retroad products.
😮Never played Astyanax, Crystalis, or Faxanadu? You don’t know what you’re missing. All great games with some of the absolute best soundtracks on the NES. Crystalis is an action adventure RPG not like a typical JRPG. Is like Zelda with leveling up... kind of.
Castlevania SOTN, Leisure Suit Larry, Lands of Lore!?! Girl, you ROCK! If you can find it, check out Milon's Secret Castle for NES. Chocolate chip cookies, iced tea & Milon's during the summer, nothing better! ('cept Castlevania sotn!) 😉
It's really cool being able to see how your collection reflects your gaming career and the consoles your grew up with. I grew up mainly on Nintendo consoles as a kid and it really shows in my affinity towards mainstream platformers and action games, so it's really interesting seeing how your history with PlayStation resulted in an affinity towards a lot of unique JRPGs. Thank you for sharing this with us.
If you didn't like Prince of Persia you're probably not gonna like Flashback. And if you didn't like Flashback you're probably not gonna like Out of This World. And if you didn't like Out of This World you're probably not gonna like Heart of Darkness. Or Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee. Or Blackthorne. These are all very deliberate, animation-heavy, frame-dependent platformers that require learning how the animation loops work because button presses don't register instantaneously. You hit the jump button at the edge of a platform, but the jump doesn't happen until the running animation is on a certain tile at a certain frame. Modern games like Assassin's Creed sort of do the same thing but they've smoothed out the process a lot more and things are more automatic. But when you're trying to run and jump over a gap in old-school Prince of Persia and the jump fails to register because you didn't hit the button at the exact right moment on the exact right tile it can be very frustrating. I personally love it and all those types of games but I can see how others wouldn't.
Eclectic collection. It’s cool to see someone who just doesn’t go for the most popular stuff. Although, seeing your collection, it’s hard to believe you’re not a Resident Evil fan. It’s a series that I would think overlaps a lot with your other pop culture interests. The first three are essentially adventure games with characters right out of JRPGs. Edit: ah okay, you do have Resident Evil 4. Makes sense.
Your NES collection is very bizarre to me. I own around 225 games and yet somehow i counted 42 of yours that i dont have. Crystalis is amazing. I dont just say this because of the nostalgia. Its a action rpg with great graphics and great music. Super long for an NES game. Sounds like you would love Ultimate Stuntman or whatever its called. I have that game and each level is a new style of play. From Racing a car to climbing a building to... maybe driving a boat. I dunno it keeps switching it up.
I’m a thermodynamics engineer, 2 years are all you are going to get. It’s a mechanical part. They wear out. Anything over the 12 months guarantee is classed as over-engineered.
@@Cannotbetamed1 Sounds like a condenser malfunction. 10 years is a good run. If you still have it get it repaired. They really don’t make them like they used to. It’s bad practice but things are now only designed to work up to the guarantee and are then recycled. They used to be reparable but once parts are worn out that’s it. Scrap heap. Un biodegradable plastics, toxic chemicals n all.
(watched only half the pc section) it's an odd approach to store games which you've never played or going to play. Just put them in the box if you ask me or throw away? I've heard only good things about Blade Runner btw but haven't played it myself. Overall, you're such a cool girl. It's nice to see someone even if dipped in a different culture generally is still shares love to games like damned Arcanum, Best of luck to you, thanks for the vid!
Vintage, when did I get so old. I can remember that they had to change it from ninja turtles, to hero turtles in the U.K. because they didn’t want kids to become ninjas. Maybe there was something in it, we all started taking karate classes. I think I was about 9. Hahaha.
‘Fuckery’ you my kind of gal 🤘 dragons dogma is a great RPG… memorable for its tough, long boss fights and an interesting companion mechanic, where online players can ‘borrow’ your pawn (companion) and they gain experience while your not playing. Items too sometimes.
Greets from Poland. Very nice collection, very nice gaming girl. Abadox-Felix the cat- Ultimate Stuntman/codemasters-those games i used to play and i like it. Commodore C64/128-NES rider sending regards.
I have a collection of hundred Xbox 360 video games. My grandmother would like my video game collection in my game shelf if she was here today but she passed away years ago. She would’ve been proud of me, the man I always am and I will always be a man a good one. I love video games. I never get tired of this stuff and that helps my skills. I have PS2, N64, and Xbox 360. Those are 1 of my unforgettable memories. I used to play Super Mario Bros and Duck Hunt and Sega Genesis and Play Station years ago. I loved long playing games. Those are good times and memories. 👍
Thank you Pam, I have a good life and a collection of games and you inspired me and loved the way you have your game collection. I’m skilled at at them.
Microsoft + Nintendo + Google + SNK Playmore + Sony + sega + ubisoft + valve / should just joint forces teamup and make a super ultimate console together. It would be better for gaming also make sense. 🤝🤝
Thanks for the tour. It's a very nice setup. I'm a huge collector of Sega in general. I collect for the Sega Master System, Genesis, CD and 32X. I also have a complete set of Mini Consoles. I also have some PS2 and PS3 games that I got for a $1 a piece at a garage sale (I couldn't turn down that kind of a deal).
Super lucky to have a copy of Azure Dreams, it’s exceedingly hard to find. Also Dragon’s Dogma is a Critically underrated game. Wholeheartedly recommend spending time with those gems.
hi ! nice collection and house ! have you tested dame was loaded (1996 philips/beam) on pc ? it's fmv detective point n click, one of the best i've play in my life. Definitely check it out ! (it's abandonware now)
