3DO M2 games time! Everyone has been asking me for a Game Room Tour but here is the thing...I actually don't have a game room! My entire retro gaming collection is behind cabinets, in tv stands, in my arcade closet and generally not on display...so this is the next best retro games idea...a collection tour! Most of my 3DO M2 Hardware and 3DO M2 game collection for you to check out! Unobtanium gaming glory awaits! Konami M2 arcade games (Battle Tryst, Tobe! Polystars, Evil Night, Total Vice and Heat of Eleven 98), some are even rarer than that (the last assets of the 3DO M2 D2 version)...and more! 3DO M2 FZ-21, 3DO M2 FZ-35 and 3DO M2 arcade boards incoming!

Well here we are! It's Neo Geo series time! Because damn it...it's my favorite retro gaming platform of all time and I've been collecting for the Neo Geo AES for years! As far as retrogaming collecting goes...it's not cheap, but don't forget...you can always get the 1:1 experience on MiSTer FPGA, which is how I am playing this now!

Every time I see M2 content I'm reminded of how excited I was for it back when the mags were hyping it up. Have always been disappointed that it didn't release as a console. I remember the demo screens of the dinosaur through a chain link fence

Yes, show it all. This is very interesting, and that's why we watch. And if you don't mind, could you consider doing a video on a topic if this has happened to you? When it comes to this hardware software in this category of gaming history, have there ever been items that were thought to exist that didn't exist at all or that you're unsure about if they are even real? This is something I'm very curious about, all the information about this hardware I get from you and thank you 👍

Always awesome seeing some of your M2 collection. I still remember seeing screenshots and reading about the M2 in videogame magazines in the 90's. It seemed like it was going to be such an incredible system. Really a shame it didn't make it to market (though I suspect if it did it would've suffered a similar fate to the 3DO). I'm glad that there are passionate people like yourself who have the budget and tenacity to acquire these pieces of ephemera and preserve them and share them with the rest of us!

@@VideoGameEsoterica As long as it launched at a better price point! :) I think its biggest problem would be that it was so out of step with the console life cycle at a time when technology was evolving rapidly. It'd be incredibly impressive for a while, but I'd bet the allure would evaporate once the Dreamcast was announced/showcased. IMO the Dreamcast would do to it what the PS2 did to the Dreamcast. Still, it would've been really interesting having it on the market for a few years. It would probably have a following similar to the one the Dreamcast has today, though maybe a bit smaller.

I remember the hype for the M2 back in the day, but I didn't know that actual hardware was released! I assumed it was all vaporware and it just died overnight, very cool to see it had a run in the arcades!

Highlights of my collection were a Street Fighter III 3rd Strike board (dead now), an extremely rare issue of Gamefan (4 known in existence). I somehow got that by accident and sold it to help someone complete their collection. I wasn't using it so why not? I like my 29'' Super LS Sound Arcade Cab and, of course, the MISTer. I have about 40 MVS carts. It was enjoyable collecting them and getting good deals.

I’m in Chicago too. My collection is in a storage unit. Hope we don’t get a bad winter this year… because my storage unit won’t see me until spring 😂

I remember that Ling Jr. of Hong Kong was selling Power Mac 7500’s with the M2 NuBus card installed on eBay in the late 90’s for several hundred dollars. I missed that opportunity to buy that then. In 2015 or so I missed an opportunity again to get that, but a got a complete M2 developer printed manual set that sits in a 15” cubed box. I would trade my new/sealed in the box Nintendo 64 DD developer’s unit complete with spiral developer manual, boot cartridge, partner interface and 5 blue disks. I really want that M2 NuBus card.

Wow so cool my brother had a non working 3do m-2 and Dreamcast dev kit I miss my brother a lot he loved retro game collecting I got into sega Saturn turbogrfx and neo geo thanks to my brother Bonk gamer anyways thank you for the video I use to Portland retro convention but prices just got to crazy and collecting got to competitive. @VideoGameEsoterica --- How much would a commission cost for a console fully compatible with playing all released or planned media for 3DO and M2 (console and arcade). I'd want the console to look good sitting in an entertainment center, with well designed wireless (IR and/or BT) controllers (for games) and remote (for non-games). Since the 3DO is effectively a media player, I'd like displays similar to VCRs and DVD players would have. Also, I'd like internal storage for saving the ROMs from favorite games. Possibly with frontend/library/menu for selecting games, also wouldn't be nice if it had some way to change languages of dialogue, etc. in games to English. Beefed up RAM and maybe a faster disc drive too. Also, being able to connect online (wired and/or wireless) for updates, downloads, multiplayer, etc., and LAN multiplayer.
