GAME SINS | Everything Wrong With Batman Arkham Knight 

The Iconic "I am vengeance, I am the night, I am Batman" line debuted in an episode featuring Scarecrow.

For the sin where you said that the arkham knight's men shouldn't be afraid because batman doesn't kill, that's not how torture works. If you get waterboarded, even if you know they won't die, you are still terrified.

I know this comment is going to be ignored but: 1: Oracle's Clocktower has an elevator. Something that the Arkham Knight as Jason Todd knew and told to Scarecrow about when they kidnapped her. 2. I don't know how the other four managed to stay alive, but the antidote Mr. Freeze made in Arkham City only cured Batman from dying, but not from turning into Joker. 3. Batman's relationship with all his Robins has always been portrayed as a relationship between fathers and sons. If you hear Batman loves Robin, that's father's love, not gay love. You should really notice that what you see as Batman not wanting Robin/Tim to be in this game is him not wanting his son being put in the harms way and possibly die like Jason did. 4. Cloudburst was a secondary plan to poison just Gotham. ACE Chemicals was to poison the entire Eastern Seaboard with stronger gas catalysts, but Batman managed to reduce it to blow up just ACE Chemicals. 5. Poison Ivy said that there are no other tree like the one at the Botanical Gardens that they knew of and then Batman suggested looking for the roots. Also since Ivy went inside that first tree to connect to the Green(network of plant life in the DC Universe) that's how she learned about the third tree on Founder's Island. 6. Crime Alley got it's current name after the Waynes were killed there. Before that it was called Park Row. 7. Jason passed on his knowledge on how well the Batsuit is protected so Crane knew where the weak spot where to hit his syringes were. That's a lot of sins that can be taken back if you just were to sit down and listen to the dialogue where they are explained. Or use your head and think about it.

6:24 I know this seems to be unclear, at least to those that haven’t played the Arkham games. When Joker injected himself with the Titan formula back in Asylum, he overdosed. The formula mixed with whatever toxins were already in his body, and created the poison disease that affects him and later Batman in City. Batman at the end cures himself of the disease and as we know Joker dies. What effects Batman and the other 4 people in Knight isn’t the Titan poison disease, it’s whatever disease that makes Joker, the Joker. The bleached skin, the green hair, the insanity, etc. The condition he got from falling into the infamous vat of chemicals. This is what plagues Batman for the entirety of Arkham Knight. It’s also a better justification of why he’s able to basically just “overpower” it with sheer willpower at the end. I thought this was clear because the Titan formula eventually wears off.

The whole point of him releasing his fear toxin was that it would be an explosion that covered the whole east coast... not just Gotham

Okay I'm gonna attempt to counter-sin as many of these as possible (Spoilers) Sin 5: Yeah he's an asshole, but as Batman would say the law is the law. Sin 10: He had Riddler in his employ, his intelligence within this world is rivaled only by Batman, so he could absolutely pull this off. Sin 11: It's part of his visage, for the same reason he tapes tubes and bottles of the fear toxin to himself, he literally surrounds himself in fear. Sin 12: The threat was insignificant, as we learn later on he's building a bomb big enough to cover the entire Eastern seaboard in fear toxin and needed the ACE Chemicals factory to use the central mixing chamber to mass produce the fear toxin. So it didn't matter if people evacuated or not. Sin 13: Granted it's a clunky looking phone, but it probably has to be, all we know about it is that it can be used for video chat, it probably has thousands of other uses that require it to be clunky. Sin 18: In that very scene we learn that Scarecrow wanted Ivy to join him, but she refused saying she had no time for his human games. Clearly, due to her power, Scarecrow thought if she's not on my side I can't have her screw up my plans, so I'll keep her in confinement, although it doesn't work for him in the end does it? Sin 21: I don't think Bats is bluffing, he's sworn not to kill anyone. Last time I checked plants are not people. Sin 31: Why? Because he's Batman. Sin 40.1: My best guesses are A) It was a fail safe if Scarecrow couldn't get out in time, or B) The neutralizing agent is a byproduct of the fear toxin itself. Sin 40.2: Chances are he used Poison Ivy's blood as she was infected in Arkham Asylum and cured herself due to her unique physiology, as we see though it only cured them of the Titan Disease, not Joker's insanity. Sin 41: See Sin 40.2. Sin 42: This form of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease was stated to be mutated. Possibly meaning it doesn't kill the person, but instead turns them into Joker Sin 43: Batman cured himself of the Titan Disease, Joker's disease was something else entirely, think of it like AIDS. You don't die of AIDS you die of the cold or pneumonia you get after the AIDS virus kills your immune system. Sin 44: Congrats, you just condensed the entirety of the comic book community down to it's base element of recycled plots. Thing is, infecting batman with something he has to find a cure for has either been a side story or done at the end of the story within the Arkham games. Also Joker never cared about Batman's identity in the first one, that was never his endgame. Though Strange knew Batman's identity, he was just a puppet figure for Ra's al Ghul, the true villain behind Protocol 10, who also knew his identity but doesn't care as that was not his endgame. Sin 45: Any Batman reader will tell you Joker has a strange, dark sexual infatuation with Batman, there was once a comic where he told Bats he wanted to kill him and defile his corpse... sexually. Sin 48: It's joker invading his mind, causing him to hallucinate, as we see later on he can even show Bats Barbara killing herself and the torture of Jason Todd. Sin 57: Played the game, can't defend. Sin 58: See Sin 57. Sin 59: Any average man under duress will tell you his grandmother's bank account codes. Add the element of large tires being driven onto their heads, they'll sing the account codes like it's an opera. Sin 62: See Sin 57. Sin 64: Broadcasting doesn't always mean live, it could've been a pre-recorded message. Sin 67 As we learn later it becomes a dense cloud blanketing the city. So if the entire city is covered in it where do the plants get their carbon dioxide needed to survive as they're strangled by a sea of fear toxin? Not from people, Batman was in it for 2 minutes and it nearly killed him. Sin 70: This argument is as invalid as the thousands of other fan boys that say the same thing. Batman and Joker weren't always voiced by Conroy and Hamill, Arleen Sorkin's Harley Quinn is of no exception. Sin 73: Radiation can disable electronics, this isn't so farfetched. Sin 74: The bomb would've been bigger, but Batman decreased it's blast radius in ACE Chemicals. So blanketing just Gotham wasn't his endgame. Sins 75, 76 & 85: See Sin 57. Sin 91: Scarecrow has a helicopter, last time checked aerial vehicle supersedes locked gate. Sin 93: Vicki Vale is one of many girls Bruce has dated before, lets name them all, shall we. Julie Madison, Linda Page, Vicki Vale, Zatanna, Selina Kyle, Talia al Ghul, Silver St. Cloud, Rachel Caspian, Natalia Knight, Julia Pennyworth, Vesper Fairchild, Shondra Kinsolving, Sasha Bordeaux, Wonder Woman, Jillian Maxwell, Lorna Shore, Jezabel Jet, Charlotte Rivers, Chase Meridian, and Andrea Beaumont. This list is a guise for Bruce to play the billion playboy card. Sin 94: Arkham Knight told his troops about Batman's armor weak points, what makes you think he wouldn't tell Scarecrow?

Why are you adding sins for things that are explained later in the story. Scarecrow doesn’t care about the people evacuating. Because he knew it would be country wide...

If that was up to me, I'd count 4 sins: 1. Arkham Knight is not original character 2. Arkham Knight is not the main villain, but Scarecrow's sidekick 3. Annoying Joker annoys even after death 4. Batmobile. Lots of this shit connected with Batmobile.

In case anyone's wondering, there is a good reason for Batman to have hallucinations of Joker's memories, like Jason's beating, and Barbara's shooting. Take Henry Adams, who in one of Harley's tapes, implies that he carries some of Joker's memories. Batman, carrying the same disease as Henry, probably has some of these memories, too.

This was a good video, but the thing that you and a lot of other people seem to forget is that Scarecrow's initial plan is to cover the entire eastern seaboard in fear toxin. After that fails, he just does it to show the world Batman failing to stop him.

About Joker shooting Barbara, I agree. Batgirl should have been able to kick that gun out of Jokers hands. She's nearly as skilled as Batman. At least in the killing joke it made sense. She was frozen in shock when he showed up at her door bc her and Gordon were previously talking about how afraid she was of Joker as a child, and in that time he shot her in her front.

I think the only big mistake Rocksteady made with Batman Arkham Knight was making it too obvious who the Arkham Knight was by having all the Jason Todd flashbacks. Also some of these sins were absolutely ridiculous.

The real fun is taking a drink every time that Scarecrow says the word "Fear" excluding the taunts you get on the TVs in the overworld

I love how Batman treats Robin in the same way a snooty actor treats an understudy he doesn't particularly like very much.

It wasn't just willpower. Bruce let Joker take over his mind so when he got hit by the toxin, Joker was the one affected and exposed his fear of being forgotten. This helped him over come Joker.

I feel like the Knight refusing to put a person in the tanks, whether they'd be a hostage or militia was to show dominance to Batman It's like saying, "hey I know you have an important rule of not killing people, but I don't need to take advantage of that and use it against you, I have other tricks to take you down"
