The reason the Slayer doesn't kill the last two hell priests in the Citadel is because he hasn't killed their guardians yet. He killed Deag Nilox's guardian off-screen, before the game started, took the guardian coin and then Nilox's soul wasn't protected anymore. He can't kill the priests unless he gets the guardian coins. As Nilox says, before realizing the Slayer killed his guardian: "My soul remains guarded... you can't-" and then freaks out when he sees the coin. We can also see this when the coin comes out of the Gladiator's body after killing him.

You know, I just realized how utterly badass Doomguy really is. Since you need those tokens/kill coins to actually murder the Hell Priests and he didn't have the ones for the other two when he crashed their meeting, they were at that moment invincible and knew it. And yet, he *still* scared them off. He actually terrified creatures who were fully aware of their own invulnerability just by pumping his shotgun.

A lot of the sins can be explained by the lore. For example: VEGA is of maykr origin, The Fortress of DOOM is also of Maykr origin, thus concluding that even if it took an entire mars base to run him, he could easily be activated in The Fortress of DOOM. It's like lighting a fire, it might take a lot of work from a cave man, but it can be easily made with the press of a button in the modern age.

Vega only needed the huge cooling system to run the entire Mars facility, which expanded miles upon miles of mars's surface. The Slayer is only utilizing him for the AI component, not to run a huge facility to produce argent

Minor, but worth mentioning: the shotgun cartridges in the opening sequence are missing primers, meaning that they’re completely empty. Apparently Doomguy takes ripping and tearing so seriously that he makes sure that his firearm can’t actually be used for anything other than a club ...

Gotta say, criticising such a loved game takes courage, and of course, there are some flaws, but at the end of the day, it’s the gameplay that counts.

17:52 Doom 3 wasn't about doomguy, and the original doom 4 wasn't going to be either. One and two were about a hell invasion that happened prior to 2016/eternal. He then is sent on a mission in 64 that eventually led him towards becoming the doom slayer.

I like that this game showed Doomguy's incredibly smart. He just genuinely did not give a fuck when Hayden told him to be careful in the last game to preserve the Argent Energy Tower

Number one thing about me: I watch third-person cutscenes and I like to see the dialogue on screen. I love cutscenes, i don't mind watching them, and I think the cutscenes tell a story like all games do, and I'm not offended by what you said.

Mick Gordon's soundtrack was great, but it drove me crazy how they cut the scenes and didn't keep the music on beat. The most egregious example was when the first DOOM: Eternal logo pops up.

the thing about him "letting the 2 priests get away" is answered with the first hell priest you kill. their souls were literally guarded so thatnif they died the invasion would continue so he needed to fulfill specific goals to be able to actually kill each priest and stop the invasion.

Samuel Hayden is the Seraphim Maykr, in some capacity anyway. The Maykrs have a hive mind, so if they know where the priest is, so does Samuel Hayden. Expecting DLC to flesh this out.

3:23 I also don't enjoy platforming that much, I will however say this ID software wanted you to stay engaged in the game, my personal interpretation of what it means to be engaged in the game is for your brain to not shut off during gameplay, the combat does this perfectly by requiring certain strategies for certain enemies and managing your supplies, which is more engaging walking down a hallway with nothing in it to get from point A to point B, or planning out a route and thinking about how the traversal mechanics work off of each other to get from point A to point B, furthermore this is my own personal experience but in Doom 2016 what always got me killed in combat was a lack of Parkour skills, Doom Eternal parkour is designed in such a way that keeps me engaged that I ended up learning to be better at parkour and thus better at combat.

Third sin - The Fortress of Doom is highly advanced Maykr technology, not puny human tech. We're talking borderline divinity here. The Maykrs could put VEGA in a flash drive if they wanted. Fourth sin - that's not Earth's government, that's the demon-worshipping UAC cell that remained after Oliva Pierce was killed at the end of _Doom 2016_ and is still active. You can read about it in the codex entries. Eighth sin - That's the point. You're SUPPOSED to use all the resources at your disposal and have the game press you constantly, so that you have to fight and really earn your victories. Sin 52 - Her name was Daisy. Sin 61 - Again, that was all on _human_ technology. Maykr technology is so far advanced beyond human tech, that it's barely even comparable. Think of it this way, you have more power on the cell phone that's in your pocket right now than all of the computer systems that were used for the original moon landing. And Maykr tech is WAY more advanced than that analogous comparison.

14:00 You see this is the only major point I heavily disagree with; they are difficult enemies to fight; but AOE damage like grenades and air burst rockets still do damage; if the shield is up, bust his ass from behind with a grenade. He is meant to be your hard counter, and one of the only ones in existence at that. Yes, the game encourages fast and loose gameplay; but it’s also very based in strategic fighting. Small mobs are bullet dispensers, Big mobs focus drawers, and Marauders, doom hunters, and revenants are priority targets. Back to the Marauder, you need to also know how to kite him, since he will close the distance on his own, and the dog spawn is a punish move. Use the ballista, super shotgun flick combo to maximize damage and he’ll die faster once you hit his window. Ballista stagers him; whereby you then hit him with a super shotgun at the exact same range. So long as he is close to you, damage will be done. Wait for your next opportunity and do it again. Tbh it’s like fighting the Mancubus, but instead of hitting the weak points to cut his mid range damage output, it’s knowing how best to take him apart that matters. Also just to be a bit of a nit picker; space as a vacuum is perfectly reasonable to say “But how the hell is he alive?” However, riddle me this, do his arms appear to have a skin tight layer of fabric above the forearms? Do they lead into his armor? Yes; then it is reasonable to infer that his armor due to its design, is able to lock out the vacuum of space at some point in the design. My assumption is that it is one of two things, the suit at the arm level, or his helmet lock; which you notice when he puts on has to latch into place. Assuming that this helps prevent air from leaking out of the suit and his suits other possible systems; it is then reasonable to infer that he has his own air filtration system mixed with a air lock system to prevent suffocation within the vacuum. Also, unrelated, but I think he was tainted in Hell and in the story before he winds up on Sentinel Prime, which shows why He is constantly enraged, but at the same time his will and determination are the only things physically keeping him alive at this point. After Samur Makyr changes him with the machine eliminating his rage, but giving his will power and determination a means of manifestation, he then set about doing everything brutally efficient with an aggressive simple method; hence his activity in Doom 2016.

Couple things. One, the reason they laid out the red carpet for the Slayer is he still had sovereignty there as long as he didnt kill the priest, his genetic enhancements allowed him to survive in the vacuum.

I think Doomguy's armor uses demon's blood for health and weapons and the helmet uses AR to interpret the blood as something Doomguy, and the player can understand.

I had pretty much all the same thoughts playing through my first time. But I shrugged it off because.... RIP AND TEAR

And Doom 3 was never tied to Doom and Doom II and I believe all fans agree, that Doom 3 is not canon, so having an issue with Doom Eternal trying to connect with all the previous games, but it doesn't make sense because of Doom 3 is a dumb argument.

Game: Keep the fight in mid range and counter the marauder's attacks when his eyes flash. Dartigan: shoots the shield constantly and "I can't beat the shit out of you without getting close"

This was my first doom game and first FPS after taking a break from my Xbox and I still am able to kill a marauder in 20 seconds flat, this is like watching someone criticize a car for not driving well when you haven’t even started the engine.
