It amuses me how often the Heartless are called creatures without hearts in KH. In KHII, it's established that the Heartless are actually the hearts left behind. The heartless beings are actually the Nobodies, as they've lost their hearts and want to reclaim them. Soooooo..... Heartless are hearts without bodies and Nobodies are bodies without hearts. Someone didn't think that one through. ;)

Women don't want the game because of empowered female characters, they want because of the bromance between Sora and Riku. Myself included.

Fun fact about the Chernabog boss, he actually originally WAS supposed to be the big final boss. The original design had Chernabog be the source of all Heartless and the one behind all of the destruction across the worlds. Nomura changed it to a white-haired pretty possessing another white haired pretty boy. I love this series to death don't get me wrong, but the more I think about it the less sense everything makes.

That Dick move is right. Were Donald and Goofy really pitying Sora for ending up like that? This situation had already become so dire that everyone needs to defend themselves somehow. The heartless only reacted in Halloween town because nobody in the town had a beating heart, they were all undead, so once the heart came into play they figured it could have been powerful, and then when oogie ate it, his dark thoughts influenced the heart, but since all of his evil thoughts are petty at best, he could barely summon any at first

About the sins on Sora's KeyBlade. There is only one of that specific KeyBlade since it is the only one given by the Worlds of Light to a chosen wielder. Even after all of the retcons that hasn't changed. The other Keyblades are basically just weapons that anyone given one can have. Mickey's KeyBlade is the same as it is the KeyBlade given by the World of Darkness to it's chosen wielder, because neither Light nor Darkness want the imbalance between worlds.

He is quick to believe that Sora abandoned him on little to no evidence from someone who should send off the "Stranger Danger" alarms, he throws a tantrum every time he meets Sora about him not paying attention to Riku and claims to be off to rescue Kairi when he is the one helping to hold her captive. It gets worse later on when he, as far as he know, helps bring about Xion and Roxas' deaths without batting an eye.

on sin 117: there not so much planets, more alternate dimensions

Honestly some changes I would make to this story is I would have Sora in normal clothes and the regular attire he's known for is an outfit he gets from Donald and Goofy, explaining the goofiness, especially the big shoes. I would also make them completely desensitized to the weirdness of other worlds so it is only Sora freaking out at every little oddity since it'd be cool to have Donald and Goofy (probably Donald morseo) be more professional and help Sora through the craziness of some of the worlds. I would eliminate the 'no traveling to other worlds' and 'no meddling' rules as they mean nothing, Sora, Donald and Goofy meddle all the time and it seems really freaking easy for people to travel between different worlds and even in actual Disney shows we see crossover like Aladdin teaming up with Hercules or Lilo and Stitch meeting up with various different Disney shows. I would show some scenes or have some dialogue that more closely explains why Sora, Riku and Kairi want to leave the islands and it could more naturally set up future games sense Kairi is from a completely different world and Riku has encountered Terra who I believe made him interested in other worlds. You could also work in that Sora just feels this urge to leave the islands to go to some specific place he can't think of, foreshadowing the fact that he has Ventus' heart inside him and it wants to return home so there is a bit more than just some bored kids making a dumb raft for no reason. I would have Ariel be one of the Princesses of Heart, Alice makes no sense and the argument "it would interfere with the movie plot" has no weight since Little Mermaid didn't have Heartless or some anime boy with a key bat. The Colosseum would have characters from previous worlds show up like the Card Soldiers, Tarzan, the Final Fantasy characters, surviving villains, etc, just everyone who is capable of fighting and not just generic Heartless, and I would at least make low poly or flat images of viewers so its not an empty arena and actually feels like a tournament and not just random battles with enemies. This would give some of the other companions more time to shine outside of their own world with the added challenge of having to fight them, making some pretty unique boss fights. For any world that is 'normal' like Tarzan, I would introduce an illusion spell Donald casts on them so people perceive them as humans so its not a plot hole that Clayton just doesn't care about a walking, talking duck. You could even have some fun with it by showing off the effectiveness of this spell by having Sora see a human Donald when he is demonstrating this and you only have to do this once because after that the audience will just assume the spell is active which is why no one reacts. I would have the gang try to use Genie's magic to try and save everyone after he is freed but he is unable to because he can only affect things in his own world and Riku, Jasmine and Kairi are offworld. This would make the characters seem intelligent for actually attempting to use a godlike being to their advantage while adding a reasonable weakness to that godlike being so he doesn't break the plot. Hades and Oogie Boogie would be more involved with the villain's plans and I would make it clear what they are hoping to gain. I assume they think Kingdom Hearts will give them godlike power or an endless army of Heartless but I can't really recall what they actually said their goal was and Xehanort just wanted knowledge (unless that was retconned in KH3). I think one more thing is I would definitely add some scenes showing Sora missing his mom so she doesn't seem entirely forgotten. Imagine how sad it would be when Sora realizes his mom is essentially dead because his world is destroyed and then later (as Dartigan speculated) we can see his mom go to his empty room and wonder why she has a child's room in her house when she can't remember a son and a big part of 2 could be when Sora returns to Destiny Island and is reunited with his mom who finally remembers her long lost son. Plots like these tend to be frustrating because they do a lot of things wrong and some simple thought can fix them or erase things that don't end up making sense.

14:04 I think the implication is that the Keyblade teleported itself from Sora's grip to Riku's as soon as Riku was in reach. Riku didn't take it from his hands. You could argue that Sora should've noticed, but it's pretty established that Sora is stupid enough to qualify for a learning disability, so it's not hard to imagine that he's just slow on the uptake. Riku's quip later about Sora being a Keyblade delivery boy to the real Keyblade Master is not technically incorrect.

You know what really confused the heck out of me when I first played KH1? The fact that they live on an island that doesn't appear to be able to support more than 20 people or so, and Sora, Riku, and Kairi are talking about 'other worlds' instead of 'other islands' like any sane person would. Because as far as we know, there are no other islands, there are no other people, and their home world is basically just Water World. ...Was Water World owned by Disney? Dunno, but it makes more sense than this crap!

I absolutely adore the Young voices of Sora, Kairi and Riku. The voice actors absolutely nail the naiveness, and wonder that these 3 children all inhibited. Sora sounds extremely impressionable and genuinely kind-hearted. Kairi literally sounds like a little princess you can't help but want to protect. In my favorite, Riku, sounds like he exudes false confidence, almost as if he's putting on a show of strength to hide his weaknesses

The general lack of planning as of KH1 _really_ stands out once you're 10+ years deep into the franchise. That and the shit controls, I spent _weeks_ stuck on Ursula as a kid and even longer on the Ansem fights. That said, I think they did as good a job as they could've retconning things, tbh. The Keyblade War was people fighting over light, it was also proof that Keyblades are dangerous tools of destruction, the Dandelions (who were kids) did _somehow_ restore the world(s), and the Keyblades were mentioned to have chosen the keykids in the mobile game. Kinda. Mobile game's translation work _suuuuuucks_ and it's the weirdest thing. Now we just need playable Kairi. Or party member Kairi + Riku. Please.

Disclaimer: I am fully aware to not take any of these sins series, but should the really prevent me from criticizing his sins for my leasure, or voice my opinion on things I don't agree with? Sin 26: Even though this is technically true, this type of explanation is mostly bound to happen whenever any series goes deep into its lore. Its similar to lightsabers and Lantern rings. Objects of great power that are given to certain individuals, but there are millions of them created and handed out through the far reaches of the cosmos. Plus Sora was told this information by 2 Final Fantasy characters who never actually used a Keyblade and I doubt Mickey had any motive to tell them EVERYTHING about the weapon. Its being told about the jedi by Han Solo. Is that equally reliable as getting the information from Luke Skywalker? Sin 56: I admit I don't like Disney movies as much, but from the popular Disney films I remember prior to 2002, most of the female leads were damsels in destress, distractions for both heros and villians, or people that gave a motivational speech for the male protagonist. Sin 85: Cloud was looking for Sephiroth not Arieth. 171: To be honest, the Disney elements of this series were always strictly filler so that the game doesn't feel to short. Kh1 doesn't even take too much liberties to make the Disney levels be accurate to the films. Kh2 does it slightly better in terms of accuracy. Sin 172: its a retcon sure, but luckily they use it in a way were the original presentation of it was a misconception. Honestly the better type of retcons unlike the pure ones which originally states 1 thing and ignores it when they revisit it while damning consistency. Looking at you FFXIII on Lie'cieth are the only ones becoming Cie'th and the Maker bullshit.

Riku does know there are outside worlds because he met terra as a child, as well as kairi met aqua both on destiny islands and they would tell sora. They are children and think they can leave the island like they did.

Most of the Riku sins can be explained by the fact that Ansem was possessing Riku ever since Destiny Islands was first destroyed up until Riku was stranded in the Realm of Darkness, then pretended to be possessed by Maleficent so he could guide her into destroying the various worlds.

Actually, I'd say everything I've learned about James Woods since this game came out only makes him voicing Hades even *more* awesome. Dude is based as fuck. KH is a shitty, overrated series and always has been, though.

I've only gotten to 5 minute mark and already I'd like to point out the following: 1:35 They know Kairi originates from another World (and arrived to theirs along with a meteor shower), even if she doesn't remember what it was like. Also while it isn't established in this game, Xehanort is originally a Destiny Islander, so there are people who've departed from their Islands to other worlds before and when something like that happens, you'd assume people would take some kind of note of it. So those details along with the way they talk about other worlds, clearly establish these people are aware of traversal from one world to another atleast on a coceptual level, even if it's not something they'd be personally or functionally familiar with. 1:41 In a reality where travelling between different Worlds is an actual thing, how do you figure? We never see them put the plan with the raft into practice, or what exactly would have happened if they did. Also there's nothing to indicate what the seafaring is like in their world in comparison to ours; for all we know Destiny Islands is a much smaller world than ours, with no large open uninhabited stretches of ocean in it and/or the sea might never even get deeper than the shallows around their island. 2:42 It's almost as if the impractically huge door, which requires a smaller door to be built on it to get trough would be a visual joke of some sort... 3:10 This thing, that thing... Also what's supposed to be so embarrasing about this? 3:34 If you talk to Riku after the race, he tells Sora he was only joking about the whole sharing Paopus with Kairi thing. There's no actual indication Riku would harbour any romantic affection towards Kairi, but he knows that Sora does and as their previous exchange about Paopu-fruits already established, Riku tends to tease him about it in a friendly manner. 3:49 Because Leon and his posse are some of the very few people in any kind of know about the recent danger treathening all of the worlds and they are also clearly familiar with Mickey and the quest he set Donald and Goofy onto and therefore could have helped them in finding Sora even if things didn't turn out as lucky as they did. I guess it's also quite possible Mickey somehow knew beforehand that the one who'd get the Keyblade on Destiny Islands would end up in Traverse Town. 4:11 Because it makes it more humorous... It's supposed to be funny, not practical. 4:54 Every time someone asks a question like this, it makes me wonder how would someone have to treat their pets inorder to be this weirded out by an idea like this... Goofy is an antropomorphic dog, whereas Pluto is a regular dog, and that's all there needs to be to clearly separate the two. If I encountered a creature, that for some peculiar reason looked exactly like a human, yet acted exactly like a dog, I'd treat them based on their behaviour, not their looks. No need to make it anymore complicated than that. 5:00 Have you seen a town like that on Destiny Islands? Once again, for all we know there's no town like that in that entire World and based on Sora's reaction that's actually more than likely the case.

Oh man this was a long time coming. I think the KH series is one of the only series that can be both as stupid as it is and beloved for what it is. I started playing Kingdom hearts when i was fresh out of high school. This game was like the Disney magic i needed to get me through my dismal adult life starting a part time job and everything. And despite all the plot holes and all the retconning I still love this game, i also love to make fun of it so it works full circle i guess.Ether way it's been a hell of a ride!

The hidden secrets in this game with changing pictures and such is astounding. The amount of time I've shot fireballs at walls to try to make something happen is terrifying.
