+i ate a unicorn Yes, he must laugh to himself at what we think is right, emphasis or think. But it is starting to irritate me how much it is enclosed, I wish he would just tell the story instead of hiding it from us for the Next ten years. Because of this staying a mystery, this is almost all you tubers talk about, weither it's five nights at minecraft or fnaf gmod, or theories. All though I will go with saying, I love these games, for the lore, the gameplay is odd, and difficult I would rather have fun in the mystery.

THE ULTIMATE CANON THEORY: My theory is that Scott is re-creating his Game in real life, he will make Mat Pat go insane trying to solve the lore so he starts killing children and stuffing them in animatronics to see how the events turn and solve the lore.

Rewatching this series, this would make perfect sense back then, especially since dreams can feel like they are lasting hours, but in reality it is only taking minutes which relates to how long every “hour” is in the game.

I think, as a person from the future, the dream theory held on because the story was never complete at this point compared to now. At least in the original games sense.

As Scott said in the quote at the start, a new timeline was needed, one that was less dense and has room to grow. So if you think of those first four games and no other media as "the first timeline," a prototype if you will, the dream ending is canon to that. We're in a new, expanded timeline now.

What happened was: scott, before fnaf, made a few games which received a lot of negative reviews. Reviews called the aesthetic to be very animatronic-like. And so scott took that and ran with it. Using the creepiness of animatronics, and (probably) creepy possessed dolls from pop-horror-media

I played the first and second game as a kid and never knew there was lore till security breach came out and seeing a movie in the works so I decided to do a deep dive about it to prepare for it only to learn the movie has been in the works for 7 years already there's so much holy- but I'm not disappointed this is a fun adventure and brings back memories I made on the games I did play
