As a die hard Pokémon fan, I LOVE this theory. Even though it didn't age as well with the release of all the new Pokémon and features. From just a basic sense of timeline, it all adds up. It could even explain stuff like why the Game Freak office always breaks the fourth wall, down to why the PokéDex is ordered the way it is, even the origin of all Pokémon. Though it isn't flawless, what Pokémon timeline theory is?
Actually the theory still holds up if you think about it. We are at war right now. Mewtwo and Ditto have been made and this started the war. Us the players are like troops in battle. I’d better buy a team medallion I want out if Valor is going down
I think the fact that Ditto appeared means that the cloning has started. After Porygon's creation and before Mewtwo's cloning. Which means that the war will start soon.
Or they has the data for Ditto this entire time, and they just wanted someone to find this out and they added Ditto now to simulate the start of the cloning.
The pokeballs in Go follow the modern structure of poke -> great -> ultra. nothing else like Apricorns or something exist, it's pretty hard to make the case they aren't modern.
since Mystic and Instinct teamed up and won the war against Valor, do you think groups like Team Rocket could be underground resistance that are off shoots of Valor? The Pokemon world criminal organizations are at complete odds with the order and way of doing things, they don't really embody the ideals of Team Mystic and Instinct but Valor shares similar ideals with groups like Team Rocket
Either that or all three original teams disbanded after the war and the various "evil" teams appeared to fill the void, using similar tactics and organizational structure. These teams would all be illegal because mainstream society decided to never again allow legal paramilitary Pokemon gangs, because of what happened with Instinct, Mystic and Valor.
lol101lol101lol10199 if that's the case then Mystic and Instinct winnig the war didn't have much of an effect since all sides decided to disband anyways, what did they gain?
ken king I don't know. But they don't seem to be around in the later games. Maybe they only "won" insofar as they stopped whatever vision Valor had for the future. Not won world domination or anything like that. Or they were absorbed into existng official power structures like the government and achieved consensus around their ideas. Or something like that.
lol101lol101lol10199 yea if anything i would think they would be absorbed into the fold and the government. This is just speculation but it would be cool if the expanded on what happened during and after the Pokemon war.
Or maybe the split timelines of the game depend on who won the war. Red / Gold / Ruby / Pearl / Black / Y / Sun if Valor Wins Blue / Silver / Sapphire / Diamond / X / Moon if Mystic Won Yellow / Crystal / Emerald / Platimum / ? / ??? where Instict won, or something like that.
What's really tragic is just like internet service providers, Niantic doesn't give people who live in rural areas a fair chance compared to people who live in cities. I've been playing since the game came out and right now I'm at level 29. I can't go to a more populated area every day because gas is too expensive and the nearest town is at least 5 miles away. I have a Ditto though!
Not necessarily, Kabuto is a fossil due to combat (In this theory) or a fossil due to habitat destruction (They are found in caves in the game and would link to real world mining). This makes it very likely one human could survive since this happens within a 10 year gap before game one (in the theory).
I think that, pokemon go as now is a parallel universe that started before the Pokemon lore but it continued along without a war,it explains the rainbow rare candy and the existence of gen 6 even though we still have the three teams
Long Huỳnh uh well i mean gnoggin has a pretty big theory like 4 or 5 hours worth of vids. 3 of those hours are 3 different vids on their own. he even has a review vid where he checks up on some things he messed up. just saying.
The pokémon battles and league cups were created to distract the kids from finding out that the war is still on going... but yeah that's just a theory...
Lol Fun theory, but ultimately you had to know this was wrong before you even made it. Everybody knew Gen II and other items/functions would be added in the game later. Pokemon Go isn't canon, not made by the creators of the manga or Gamefreak after all.
One could argue that, while Pokemon Go is further developed, it might actually end up portraying different parts of Pokemon timeline during different parts of its development.
So Pokemon GO predicts a WWIII with 3 parties. Valor and Mystic being the big teams like Russia Vs US and the third team, Instinct being the more stupidish one that actually takes over, wins the war and starts a new ideology that everyone is pikachu and pikachu is everyone.
Okay but it's literally impossible for Pokémon GO to be canon because it has Porygon and Ditto (which is going to be released in a future update; it's confirmed) existing at the same time as Kabuto, Kabutops, Omanyte, Omastar, and Aerodactyl. There's no way there was enough time for those Pokémon to go extinct and fossilize by the time Gen 1 rolled around.
I mean we could consider that (like in the Pokemon Series) the fossil Pokemon did die out, BUT, a few managed to survive all the way to modern times. In Pokemon Go, there may already be a small amount of them, so when Gen 1 starts and the war ends, the fossil Pokemon may have definitely become extinct.
that isn't necessarily true, the existing "fossil" pokes could all die out and their ancestors' fossils found and then resurrected, so the theory remains
Jon Wooldridge But if they had been resurrected enough to be able to be wild in GO then they would still be around by the time gen 1 came around. It would take much longer than 40 years for that many Pokémon to die out. And Pokédex entries wouldn't describe them as having gone extinct millions of years ago; they would either say they went extinct, were revived, then went extinct again, or they would just mention their second extinction. Also, there are people who talk about them being long extinct who look to be over 40 that wouldn't say that if they were alive while the fossil Pokémon were.
It's possible that the resurrection process was discovered around the time of Go? The ones we see could be early resurrections (before the fossils became rare) and the offspring of said resurrections? It's all conjecture, but they could have been hunted to the point where they couldn't be found in the wild anymore?
+thekaboominator1 But that assumes the resurrection process was discovered several years before Go, to give the fossils time to escape captivity and establish a breeding population. And unless the technology was lost in between then and the canon games, that wouldn't work because fossil revival is treated like a new process in the games themselves.
Am I the only one that thought about that mattpat said Willow And Price are the same person but the fossil pokemon went extinct in willow/prices lifetime
Piece of Cake Not really. If ditto are failed experiments, and Mewtwo isn't in the game yet, that still works fine. Just means they've started to try and clone Mew and have failed a few times, hence Dittos starting to appear
LIE!!!!!! When this next update of ditto being released comes, this may mean the tests have started and a living product came out of like a time period started and if this theory is true, think about (with the evidence it honestly might be!) it just may mean that the first ditto was just created! But that's just a theory........ GAME THEORY (to help matpat not have to covers this for you :D)
Mewtwo isn't in the game because it's a legendary pokemon, there's supposed to be only one in the world. It doesn't make sense if multiple people all have mewtwo. Not to mention Mewtwo would single handedly be the strongest pokemon in the game and it wouldn't be fair in gym battles.
What if Lt. Surge Is the Instinct Leader? Think about it, they both have yellow hair, love electric Pokémon and the instinct leader seems to be in his teens 20-30 And Lt. Surge seems to be in his 50's seeing he had been in the great Pokémon war you have to think that since instinct was in that war (as matpat said) and if instinct was in that war and Lt. Surge was in that war doesn't that seem a little obvious. But hey! That's just a theory A Comment theory! Thanks for reading!
There has never been a pokemon type associated with the teams, only the teams' symbols. Also, if you think that Lt.Surge looks like he's 50 you have very wrong standards of aging xD
As someone who has played Pokemon GO daily since getting into the beta in 2016, this video is an absolute TRIP to watch! I am absolutely in love with the idea that GO is canon in the Pokemon universe, especially the bit about Pryce/Willow. Obviously a lot has changed, mostly thanks to updates to the app and the release of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, but this was still a fantastic watch 6 years after this game's release. I wonder if Pokemon GO has any more theories that have developed over the half decade that has passed?
The Robin ok now lets make misty the direct descendant of the team mystic leader and then way far into the future lets make lysandre the great grandchild of the team valor leader idk it could work if u think about it really hard
"Pokémon GO's Tragic end", personally I thought this was a reference to the fact that winter is coming and less people want to go outside looking for pokemon.
I'd be the type of game developer who'd see MatPat's theories and use them as inspiration for writing or rewriting parts of my story. Though he sometimes reads into things a bit more than likely intended, he makes an effort to make a lot of sense, and I appreciate that.
THat's the thing though, si like, everytime I'm thinking it's a bit far, I think.... But it's not... IMPOSSIBLE... Pryce's hair colour, im like.... you're right man, you CANT just dismiss it :/.... Like.... fk....
So if this theory is correct, then the timeline might go as follows: -Pokemon enter the Earth dimension -Humans begin researching pokemon, Mew possibly captured and experimented on -Porygon is created -Pokemon trainers begin to battle over how pokemon should be trained/used -Ditto is created in a failed experiment -Trainers discover the baby variants of pokemon and how to hatch them ------> WE ARE HERE
Well, considering game plot and the anime plot are in a different universe, we could just ignore that detail about Ash. And Professor Willow is actually Professor X Willow. Not Willow X. Just like the others. Samuel Oak. Aurea Juniper, etc. This timeline doesn't make any sense because AZ clearly stated that it's been 3000 years since he last saw Floette aka the end of the war. So, it's very unlikely that Mewtwo is completed before the war.
I mean... well maybe it's just a different time line. Yk how the timeline with Mega Evolution and the other timeline Dynamax?? Maybe who knows. Orrrrrrrrr Its just going to the future and now it's pretty close to red and blue yk?
João P. that's what I was thinking. They've added ditto, but no mewtwo or mew yet. it still kind of follows the timeline, seeing as to how they will be adding to the game over time
That intro tho... I think I'm scarred now. Scarred with a dirty mind... Which isn't that different because my brain LOVES digging holes and staying away from baths.
Nintendo did work on this and why would they tell you Treyarch doesn't tell us anything about there easter eggs or lore Pixar doesnt either why would they tell you about something they want you find it makes it more interesting
Simple. Like 80% of players were bandwagoners. They don't really care about any Nintendo game without go in the name, they realized that it wasn't a regular mobile game, and quit
Also, now in Sun and moon, the cafe guy gives you a single rare candy if you've given your pokemon any poke beans. No matter how many poke beans you've given them, you just get one.
Truly, just think about the Willow thing XD, "Do you recall that my middle name is Willow?" either someone got really lucky or someone was a big pokemon fan who liked this old man too much
Professor Oak created the Pokedex at the beginning of Red and Blue and you (as the player) are the first one to receive it. In GO the Pokedex wouldnt exist if this theory was true. #TheoryDebunked
TheMinecraftHype Or maybe you help Prof. Oak to make the pokedex with the same name YOU gave to your journal in pokemon go the reason is that you "sketch" the shape of the pokemon with no idea of the name or what it specializes before catching it
You may be forgetting something. I would have to say the spark, or whatever his name is, the leader of team instinct, is perhaps the youngest of the team leaders. From appearance and personality, I’d have to say the guy is about 17-19 in the universe of Pokémon go. Lutenant surge is probably in his late 20s. Both share a knack for electric types. That’s all I have, but they could be the same person
+Henry Le Ikr as everyone thinks its about to die or dead already... BOOM! Gen 2 and 3 are released with some new battle and catching system. Many more people boutta walk of cliffs and into lion dens 😂
Did you ever wonder WHY it was empty? Looking at the wallpaper, you can clearly see scratch marks at the bottom. Now, we could assume it was a dog who caused them, but the lines are in the sets of five. Dog's paws only have for claws facing forward. Let's face it. It's from a human. But the ratio is far to small for an adult. Keyword there "Adult". This is a child's room. The child was forced to be here against his/her will. The parent wants to keep him/her from harm and by doing so, the parent is psychology harmed the child.
the lore is that the room was haunted and then the ghost started haunting stepanie, and then he attempted stepanie murder, and then he have her chocolates
