Game Theory: The SCARY Crimes of the Minecraft Illagers

Imagine if their experiments actually worked, like if there was a really rare chance of you spawning in a woodland mansion instead of the usual spawn areas

I find it interesting that the new mob, the allay, looks suspiciously similar to the vex. And guess what? Allay ONLY spawn in prisons in the mansions and outposts. That is definitely there for a reason.

The first Illager convincing others to join his cult: "Have you ever heard the tragedy of Darth Illager the Wise?"

Now I'm just imagining an illager, sobbing after being kicked out and plucking his eyebrows VIOLENTLY while staring in a mirror.

Its interesting how Evokers and Illusioners are the only ones with green eyes. Vindicators and Pillagers have blue eyes instead... interesting because the Villagers also have green eyes. Vindicators and Pillagers can't use any form of magic, yet _Villagers_ can trade enchantments books when they have the librarian job. I wonder if that's a coincidence or not...

I've been binging these episodes again. But maybe the lapis representation also indicates the use of souls. We commonly see souls represented as blue, and if we were to think about it, you'd reasonably need soul power to create something sentient. So maybe in this case, lapis represents souls and magic. Especially since now you can only find Alley in these mansions, you can imagine them sapping the soul energy from those cute little things. But hey.. that's just a theory

Imagine that these "unspeakable acts" was just the Illigers shaving their unibrow.

Theory: Evokers turn blue sheep red as an attempt to bar any other creature such as the player from replicating their experiments. No access to blue wool = no experiment. Also, the original way to make blue wool was from using lapis. Maybe the reason they can attempt these experiments is through the connection between the dye and magic?

This makes me think about the zombies under the igloos. Maybe they first were exiled to the snowy biome and then relocated to the woods once they got sick of it and had enough other exiled villagers

This will almost definitely be lost but in addition to this theory, in the snow biomes, igloos can occasionally spawn with an underground lab. Inside there are two cages, one with a villager in it and one with a zombie villager. There is also a sign with arrows pointing both ways, obviously alluding to the fact that you can transform a zombie villager back into a normal villager and vice versa.These snow biomes are always separated from the rest of society. My theory is that after the creation of the zombies by the Illagers, several villagers decided to attempt to find ways to save those who had turned into zombies. It was their attempt at correcting the wrongdoings of the Illagers. Just a theory. Edit: I know it’s cliche but really thanks! The fact that it’s on a game theory video makes this even better! I’m glad people liked my theory. I feel like the igloos have always been ignored but I feel like they are a critical piece. It has so many little details that can easily add to a story and yet I never see people mentioning them? I mean, they are literal secret labs hidden under igloos, there is defiantly something suspicious about that. Hopefully, we can help piece together this theory because I for one am invested in it!

New theory: The illagers don't have unibrows because they shave the middle part when performing the surgery that implants lapis lazuli into their skulls.

What if the Illagers attempt to recreate Steve leads to the creation of hero brine? I know it may seem impossible, but I still wanna see if this theory of mine could end up being part of the main lore of minecraft.

And now... Allays, Vexes, the ancient cities with a lot of the same wool and wood that they have... This is getting more interesting...

The Illagers real secret is that they are trying to bring Herobrine back, who keeps getting removed with each patch.

I just wanted to point out two things that may be relevant. 1: Illagers don’t attack baby villagers which means they must have SOME good morals. 2: During village raids witches appear sometimes.

The fact that villagers are being turned into ravagers equals the reason for raids to exist

Theory: If you didn’t know, Illager Outposts, most of the time, contain imprisoned Iron Golems. I think they fuse villagers and Iron Golems to create the Ravagers: Hence their strength, force, and resistance, similar to an Iron Golem. And due to the fact that Iron Golems and Illagers also have beef

What if instead of trying to create a “Steve” for I guess funzies, the Illigers tried to create one because of Steve’s ability to respawn? Going back to the whole life and death thing.

World had a woodland mansion, this happened so much it became tradition for us to go looking, find the woodland mansion and renovate it to live in.

I know im late but i have something that confirms this theory. In the pillager outpoust they hold Iron Golems in cages, witch could then be transported to the Woodland Mansion and conduct experiments on them (Golems) etc. how they work

Maybe the Illagers we’re trying to create a human (We know that they weren’t only trying to recreate Steve, as the ancient builders were around when Zombies were around, and Zombies could only spread if they killed others) because they saw that the ancient builders were a superior “species” to the Villagers/Illagers and wanted to imitate and control that power.

I know this doesn’t seem very possible but here’s a little theory: We all have noticed a few things differences in illagers and villagers. The two eyebrows and uncrossed hand can be explained easily with a pair of shears and a change in wardrobe, but the blue eyes and pale blue-ish skin don’t make much sense if they’re just exiled villagers.What If the use and over exposure of lapis lazuli caused their skin and eyes to become blue colored.

I have a theory: you can sometimes see that iron golem are in some cage at the towers. Iron golem can move, but their stone. Maybe they are trying to see how they live? Idk, maybe game theory can look into it

What if totems of undying are really just storage batteries for souls, that they dip into to summon vexes, and do their other stuff. The reason they go on raids is to collect souls from the villagers.

MATPAT! Here's a crazy theory for ya on the origins of skeletons. Your zombie disease video makes sense, but doesn't explain the skeletons. No disease is going to keep a pile of bones floating around. You'd need magic to do that. Here's a quote from the Mobestiary, " Some have proposed that skeletons are ancient adventurers raised from death by an evil sorcerer." In the game Minecraft Dungeons there is a group of ancient necromancers who live in a desert temple. They have blue glowing eyes (the color of souls) and when they summon skeletons, you can see small blue souls float away from the summoning area. They even shoot soul fire blasts! But why are they themselves undead? Maybe because when they (or some other humans) summoned the wither, they noticed that it doesn't attack undead things, and they turned themselves undead to protect themselves. I hope you read this!

Fun story, in 2019 me and my friends started a world, and the mansion was right there. We didn't think much of it because even though we played for years we were noobs. It's funny to think back at how lucky we were, lol.

This guy basically makes the backround story of Minecraft for Mojang.

As I’m listening to this, Playing Minecraft I managed to stumble into the woodland mansion Gun Powder room.😁

A few things to notice now: With the arrival of some of the more recent betas, the allay can be found in woodland mansions and pillager outposts, so it's pretty safe to assume the illagers are doing something to create them. Keep looking and you'll find that, aside from enderman or mobs with weapons, villagers and allays are some of the only mobs that can hold items in their hand VISIBLY. Give an allay an item and it'll carry it. For a villager, hold an item they wants to trade and it'll give an offer back in their hands (e.g. hold an emerald and they'll hold enchanted books, bricks, redstone, etc.) This next one is admittedly a bit weaker, but it's still worth noticing that allays have the unusually large heads relative to their body that are reserved for baby mobs. The only other mobs with this sort of attribute are villagers and illagers with taller heads compared to, say, a zombie with a much more cubed head (ignoring the strider since its entire body is a head with legs). It's also worth noting that allays aren't considered "undead" mobs, since hitting them with a potion of healing doesn't harm them. Additionally, there are particles that resemble those of sculk censors and the warden that get emitted when a note block is played near them in Bedrock Edition. Whether these 2 things get changed or not since we're still in the betas remains unknown. Last, but definitely not least, is the fact that the vex and the allay's names are contradictory to one another. Allay means "to diminish or put to rest fear, suspicion, or worry" while vex means to annoy or frustrate someone. Why this is the case, I still can't really say. Maybe it's the behaviour in that vexes are really annoying to kill since they can move through walls while allays are more calm and help the player out. I feel like maybe the allays name is meant to signify the death of a villager undergoing the transformation, since, in many beliefs, nothing clear worry or fear more than death itself or maybe the suspicion is cleared from others once the individual dies. That's all I've been able to piece together. I hope someone (MatPat) is able to find the lore behind them!

Another thing is that , when you explore a village you see a big tower that resembles a church . A place of whorship. it has a potion stand . It could be the first sign of their development in to their experiments . Matpat describes them as cultist. they even have a little worship thing in their mansion. Is it a coincidence their first step into exile was in a church . They even have an alter in their mansion. Don't forget the ababdoned villages with their pumpkin god thing . It could have been their temporary settlement before the woodland mansion . Maybe they do this for their strange twisted religon. It's just what came to my mind . Can't forget I have a degree in anime and video game " bullsh!t" science . I hope this gave you something to think about .

A theory that goes with this: What if the illagers actually succeeded in creating this "god" being, but it wasn't what they expected. Perhaps they created us, the player, the one who is the character in every single minecraft world. You mentioned in other theories that there was a civilization that was the "builders," and we could definitely be one of them. However, notice how our player has one ability that seems to be completely lacking in the builders. We can revive, no matter when and where we die. Such ability can be seen as godlike, perhaps artificial. Artificial like a power gained from being revived using a totem of undying through a ritual.

With the new update I found out the allay where being captured by illagers. I don’t know why but this was kinda strange for me.

While this does make sense, you have to take in to consideration about how the Illagers would know about Steve’s existence. For all we know, the zombies had already existed and the Illagers were trying to make a zombie do their bidding, similar to how an Iron Golem protects villagers. Illagers would know about Iron Golems from being in villages before they were kicked out. Some evidence could be that at Pillager outposts, there are Iron Golems in cages and could be for Illagers to observe and test on.

He didn’t mention vex’s which are incorporeal beings that are summoned by evokes. Literally creating life, or potentially summoning dead people back to life in spirit form Which would indicate that Minecraft has an afterlife.

Here's a theory: What if at one point in time, the illagers actually SUCCEEDED in reviving a builder from the undead, because we're forgetting the most important person in minecraft: YOU I mean assuming that endermen are indeed evolved forms of builders, it would take a few thousand years of evolution to get to that state. It's not likely that some builders were able to survive the Wither in the overworld so MAYBE just MAAAYYBE, Steve and Alex are successful attempts of the Illagers in resurrecting the builders

It’s entirely possible that the Illigers /did/ make Steve. We don’t know where the player character came from in the games- perhaps the illigers were finally successful, but the player hasn’t been as subservient as their other creations

Way back in middle school there was a Minecraft rumor going around. It claimed Steve was some sort of deity/god or a chosen one depending on who was telling the rumor. The rumor goes: Steve wasn’t always human; he was once a deity (or a human chosen by deities to survive the human apocalypse) but he did something horrible, though, the outcome was not his intention. Steve was then left to wander the world and be resurrected after each death; his life was his eternal punishment.

Imagine if they used this to write off Herobrine as canon. The ultimate creation made by the Illagers in an attempt to replicate Steve's power, only for him to go rogue. The Shadow the hedgehog to Steve's Sonic, or maybe he's more Metal Sonic, being an artificial replica of the protagonist.

Something i noticed that you mentioned was the drown running from a flood. Well what if the drown and the builders are from co existing races of people but the builders escaped to the end before the flood could wipe them out

Imagine he updated this theory using the information from Minecraft legends and I have my own theory That is that the giant wool statues with the lapse block inside of them hints to how a ravenger and new vindicators and pillagers are made So they take a captured villager They shave its unibrow Then they surgically implant lapis in its skull, which wipes their memory and turns their skin Gray, and if the process doesn't work, it becomes a ravager which they still benefit from. And another hint that they control life-and-death is the vexes Which are the tiny sword wielding ghosts Which the evoker can summon to attack Is that go through solid blocks And you can only attack when they are red.

Okay hear me out, totems of undying also have the villager nose with green eyes. What if the way they work is by transferring the life of an innocent villager into a totem and then transferring the life into another object.

How you thought about in you're diet theory about how they may have found a end portal? Yea, Here is my theory for you. The old Pocket Edition of minecraft has a set seed what you could do that minecraft recommended called stronghold. It was a village but right under was the end portal. The illager's must have found it under the village and they were kicked out the village for experimenting with it like dropping stuff it or maybe knowing too much about it. The illagers is now recreating the portal in their manison without going back because their kicked out. But it isnt working so if you kill one of the banner illagers, They will follow you to the village and try to raid it to get to the portal without knowing that village has also a portal under it.

I always forget the Bearded Matpat arc existed.
