I was supposed to attend GDC this past year as a senior in college, and it was absolutely devastating to me and a few other students who were attending as conference associates. I'm in my final year as an animation student and I was planning to attend some animation conferences for networking and such, I couldn't do it in previous years since I was always working on the weekends and couldn't take them off, and now covid happened, I don't feel like I'm gonna get a job after this year, since it's all been just online and I feel so sick of staying home all the time, but just few more months and I'll have to start worrying about not being a student anymore and being jobless as well lol I also just feel devastated as you're saying, because I honestly love being a student and wanted to get as much as possible from that experience and it just feels so bad not being able to :/

"Promote yourself" I'm a writer of sorts. I've been working on an original series in a fantasy setting spanning over multiple generations and phases in my fictional worlds history. I have been working on this since 2009 and have slowly but surely been building my world from the ground up. I have finally gotten my series to an overall level where i feel i am ready to truly write it. Hopefully in the next ten years, some of you will be picking up The Westmam Inheritance off of the shelf and deciding to read it. I love writing and my dream is to reach out and bring people together like my favourite video games, authors and movies do. See you all in the future when I'm published! And also, i love to write more than just my own series. I'd be happy to lend some other original ideas to game devs out there!

I have an idea for a game, but I can't quite figure out the lore. You play as a knight who was sent to guard the princess from a demon invasion. The princess, in the last section of the game, will be captured, and so your defensive mission where you just try to keep the demons away from the princess turns into an offensive one where you try to get her back. Any ideas?

"promote yourself" I'm a indie game dev and a top tier procrastinator. I've been making games on and off since I was 9 as a hobby and have always wanted to make a full scale game. But I also kinda procrastinated, a lot, so not much got done. Well when this whole quarantine thing happened I decided it was finally time to sit down and make a full game. So after 6 months of dusting off my game making skills I finally started work on my game. It's a rhythm game in which you control 2 characters and have to use each character's unique abilities together to clear levels. “Promote yourself” I’m a high school freshmen who’s passion is Dance and Theater! I dance on my schools drill team and take classes at a studio after school and have done multiple musical productions and have been very involved in singing and acting since I was young! I hope to go somewhere like New York after high school and hope to make it into a good theater company and make connections, maybe even do traveling shows or something like that and/or do background dance/choreography work in movies and television and hope to maybe be on Broadway in some form, weather that’s being a swing actress, understudy, ensemble, anything, I just wanna be a part of it. I don’t plan to go to collage I don’t think, unless I go to a trade school and do a commercial dance program or be a theater major.. school has never been my thing and though I don’t exactly have a laid out plan for what I want to do after high school, I know that I have wanted to be a performer and go into the arts since I was young and I can’t wait to carry out that dream :)

I have the confidence that I can make a living in the arts no matter big or small, sure it’s a hard field but it’s also a small field and a lot of it has to do with connections which I was lucky enough to learn a lot about from my previous dance coach of which team I was a leader on. and it’s really refreshing to hear full love and support instead of “is that realistic?” Or “you sure? The arts are a pretty tough field” from family and adults like Theater and training isn’t the only thing I’ve talked to them about since I was little. Ive just always been a performer and it’s where I’m most comfortable and I know a desk job just isn’t for me, thank you for the comment it truly made my day! Keep spreading love babe!

@@toni4157 yeah you can, but an agent isn't exactly cheap and some are just out to cheat you so you should probably try to snag one or two jobs without one so you can tell if a future agent is trying to trick you. Or at least so you know what to look for in an agent from people who have worked with one before and recommend a good one. Cuz the worst thing you can do for your career is to get a bad agent.

I graduated in the summer 2019. Our group, Biofire Games LLC, stuck together after Fullsail University. The large companies have been so hard to get an email back on our applications. We decided to keep making games and now we have 2 games released. No success, but we're working on our third one in one year while we are still working full time. So this video is very true on the developer side. I love video games and this channel is one my inspirations to get into design. It's good to see the team here also sees the problems I see in the industry for those fresh out of college.

Promote Yourself: When I was a kid I wrote many short stories and poems, some of which ended up being published in local newspapers. I've had an idea for a video game plot that I've had brewing for years and now that I'm mostly stuck at home, I'd like to get that out there. Heavily inspired by Metroid, Cave Story, and Zelda, it’s actually my first time really coding a game ever. Gaming has gotten me through this pandemic. When I was alone stuck in quarantine playing games with friends it what made me feel connected to those around me. Watching your theories has gotten me through this too. I remember sitting down with my notebook reminding myself to go look through the games to see if I could find anything to help. And I felt so happy when the pieces clicked together perfectly or not. Or when I was sick with covid 3 times and listening to your theories along with others made me feel better. “Network yourself!” Well I’m a digital artist, video editor and used to dabble in 3D modelling and animation. I doubt my voice will be heard in the mountain of comments, but you never know. Edit: Wow! Never thought this comment would reach two or three likes. Not sure if I’m everyone’s cup of tea. For one, I lack any decent portfolio since I was never taught how to properly make one. Most of my works that I’ve made are incredibly amateur and while I have tried to refine my arts after graduating college, I could never quite make digital art the likes you see on the professional sites, which always made me feel inferior to them. Naturally, I gave up art to try and pay bills. I can still use programs like Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and 3DS Max and Maya, but their program licences expired years ago. So yeah, tl;dr, I suck. :/

API into gmail events/calendars and even location data to see scheduled events and suggest blocks then add it into their schedule and use location stuff to set places IRL if needed/wanted and layer in IFTTT so it can negotiate between the group on options found through common analytics based off places they've visited and the meta data gleaned off basic searches. and use push notifications to pop it up and keep it going for the back and forth or a voting system after a top X is found that is a % match on say 60% of the group or more

@@copiumkiller theres bound to be a % of those that could benefit from it which makes it a worthwhile cause and it could benefit more from those in the Psych and neuro fields because they would likely know more of what sectors of the brain need to be engaged constantly to help rewire so to speak to offset some of what depression wires into you. I myself am Parasuicidal so its weird to try and look at it from other perspectives.

@@smilesaredaggers3088 What I have understood is that many mental health problems come from upwards comparison, how we handle problems, "Game over" in real life and how much we reach out to other people. Could you share with additional factors? Maybe even test my game to see how effective are positive triggers? For now my main approach is to close gap how people perceive "Game over" in real life (because usually they have no problem to move on from it in games). Also I am using "helping to others" effect. Games as "Depression quest" IMO is great example.

I know a bunch of people who have maybe 200 unplayed, purchased games in Steam. If each game is an average of 20 hours of play time from start to finish, that's 1 1/2 years of doing literally nothing else but playing video games. Those are the games that were paid for and doesn't count the numerous freebies that pop up all over the place like Among Us. And also doesn't count revisits to great games to play them again a second or third time or time sunk going for some difficult achievement. All told, many people have significant video game backlogs that could take a decade to get through. Among Us is more akin to a Flash game than an actual video game. The average EA/Ubisoft dev could probably crank out an Among Us clone in a weekend. It's kind of beneath them. Actually, making an Among Us clone might be a good test of someone's software development skills to see if they are ready for actual game development.

Matpat, i know fnaf 4 and 5 arent too recent but could you do a theory on either of these? 1. So what if C.C had ennards like voice box next to him, and fredbear was vowing to put ennard back together again. There isnt really a way to out C.C back together again. 2. Say... fredbear was possessed by a soul who left the plush and took the voice of henry to put the aftons together to be a family again. possibly THE springlock malfunction william made happen since a worker supposedly saw him with the bodies made henry possess fredbear. Henry might have possessed the plush if c.c dropped it by the entrance the day the "malfunction" happened

My two friends are building a game, they are doing all of the coding while I help (more or less) with straightening out the game plot. Chances are that a lot of the bugs that are found post launch _were_ found by testers, just not fixed for one reason or another.
