Instead of ruining a plastic paddle to chum the piles, go to HD and get a roof/floor/sidewalk/ice scraper and maybe cut the handle down, sand, drill hole and add a lanyard.

I don't know about Alabama's regs. But in Virginia the boat owner can buy a license that covers everybody in the boat

A friend caught one and didn't have cutters strong enough cut off the hook barb to free the bird. Luckly, I was with him, and was able to cut the hook with a fence tool able to cut the heavy gauge hook and save the double crested cormorant from further distress.

hey i use those lamnet id holders to put my fishinh mlic and wear it around my neck it makes it a lot easier to show them fast and quick less hassel and no chance of phone being dead or dying , but what awesome enter reaction with the game warden . next time you see them mention they need to put a bouy out there saying restricted area with arrows pointing from dock to dock .. but what a haul of some good fish .

It's a cormorant or as Dad called them shitpokes pronounced shite-pokes. Catching a pelican on a live mullet was my worst bird experience. They're not as bad as dealing with turkeys with sharp spurs or geese with their pinching beaks.

If your within 200 yards of there dock , you need a fishing licencse . Or near the brige , other than that they dont get in the Gulf or too fay away from home . A nd its like 55 of them out there everyday .

I used to spear fish out there 30 years ago. We would fish it at nighttime (when the pier was empty) for flounder. We'd also run across some sheepshead....occasionally some yummy specs. I miss those days...also well done dealing with catching a loon??? When does that happen?

These marine law enforcement need to learn the law because they DON'T have any legal standing to come board his vessel nor search or ask for ID ....ALL law enforcement MUST have RAS / Reasonable Articuble Suspicion that You have committed, ARE committing, or going to commit a crime or infraction and they definitely don't have it and therefore they are acting unlawfully as usual seriously please learn you rights and the laws and print off all the laws pertinent to your state and fishing and boating because they DON'T have any legal authority whatsoever and as far as what they said about the docks that was clearly bs as well ....seriously do your research and then talk to civilly rights and boating and fishing lawyers ....the arm3d fisherman would be a good guy to ask what the laws are and what lawyers to talk to
