Did the actor gain/lose weight on purpose between the video game and depressed real life Charlie scenes? That's commitment, especially for such an 'eh' movie.
Omg, who else laughed out loud when the cop at the end put on the headgear, but the prop was obviously too small for his head, so it just had to sit awkwardly half-on, not even close to the right way?
As a Spanish viewer when you said the award was from a film festival in Estepona y lost my shit, that is like the Spanish Milwaukee, always the butt of the joke when someone brings up a location.
Well, I'm a huge Redlettermedia fan and I always try to incorporate Milwaukee in my conversations if only just to tell random strangers in the internet about those guys
Mari-chan Awww...I thought you were showing us cheeseheads some love. (Seriously, why do we wear foam cheese wedges and brat burgers on our heads to football games?)
okay but the part where he just kind of strolls around and knocks over a trash can when he could be robbing a bank or shooting someone in the face is a big mood
I love tuna noodle. My mom made that shit when I was a kid. Talk about tasty with potato chips crisped on top and some Tabasco. She would tell us kids that it was chicken, because we all thought tuna was gross. Talk about nostalgic.
How about roast beef, with extra horseradish? See, the extra horseradish is what makes it horseradish. My name is horseradish, how are you doing today?
I'm not going to lie. 80% of the time when I watch a movie, I forget the characters' names. That table scene and his buddies yelling "HEY CHARLIE!!!" really helped me remember their names. Thank you, mystery director...
I love how you YTP your own videos, as if to beat people to the punch. Also, I've been just recently re-watching ".hack// sign" which is crazy that you mentioned it. It's a very dialogue heavy show but I've come to like that more in shows I watch.
"There's a double feature tonight, existenz, and videodrome." Are those very well known? I'm genuinely asking. Part because they're fucking awesome and part because 2 minutes in and they broke the cardinal rule of not mentioning better movies. This'll be great I bet.
The way the people in the background move reminds me of the Rick and Morty Episode when Jerry in the Virtual Reality the fake towns people all mess-up.
The original hotline Miami. Get a briefcase or die, have a girlfriend who died, and go from your apartment to the hospital in a dream sequence/being in the game
I feel as though they were at least trying to bring something cohesive to the table with Charlie's "character development" or whatever, but it still feels cheesier than most Disney Channel movies. Still not the worst movie ever, though.
Low budget Brutalmoose Low budget Emoji Movie BETTER AND ACTUALLY GOOD Emoji Movie Low Budget XBOX One S Low budget magic railroad Low budget SAUAS Low budget kid Cuisine Low budget pudding Low budget.........................................................................................................................................PuDdInG
Your editing is so on point Ian, especially when you insert random dialogue from earlier into unrelated scenes, it always makes me laugh. I also did not realise that was Harvey from Sabrina until he took the glasses off!
midsnacker How To Make A Monster was a genre of it, sort of. The monster comes to life in the real world and kills the game developers. Old movie. Bad movie too, but a favorite from my childhood. The voice actor for Sven from Skyrim is in it as well.
"freeze!" *immediatly fires* oh! i see he was trained at the same police academy as the cop that shoots Markus in Detroit Become Human, tell them to not move once then immediatly opens fire, academys finest!
Bardyman 82 I'm pretty sure the joke is that Charlie Nash is also the name of a Street Fighter character and that they got some "they did ok on that" points
"Game! I need a health Icon!" "We can't do that, Charlie" "That's not fair" "Life isn't fair, Charlie!" Yes. Life isn't fair. But this is a game, you piece of shit AI. Games have rules, Games are supposed to be fair. Now give me my god damn Health Icon.
I was not ready for this review. Harvey and Topanga in a VR action movie coupled with brutalmoose's dry wit and editing. There was no way I could be ready for something like this.
"Welcome to the world's most futuristic gaming device, before you get started here's a bunch of tedious shit that you gotta do." Can't believe Gamebox 1.0 accurately predicted setting up a VR headset in the modern day.
It could be the name of the game program. But them I'm actually more interested in why it isn't "Gamebox 0.something" since the computer voice said it's a beta.
I was laughing so hard at "THIS IS NOT A GAAAAME! 🎼" that I had to freaking explain it to my mom in the other room so she knew why I was losing my mind. Now I keep thinking of it and cracking up. A++, the best. 😂
Motorcycle rider here, at 10:24 when Charlie steals the motorcycle he does the exact opposite of what your supposed to do when starting it. Not to mention that right before he took off he pulled in the clutch which would remove power from the wheel.
This "put your friends name/face into media and scary things will happen to you with them in it" narrative is EXTREMELY popular in spanish speaking countries in the 90s and 2000s, or at least in countries I was moving into growing up I cannot name how many examples there is of this trope and on different media, Example of a popular one nowadays is naming a Sim with a relative's name and they experience a soon-to-be tragedy, although it sounds like it, it's completely unrelated from creepypasta. A popular one I heard a lot when growing up was dedicating a mixtape to a girl and the lyrics of songs would change to say she will reject you. This movie just feels like a collection of, at the time, current urban legends with a 3D front and that's what makes it amazing
In Miitopia you choose mii characters to play roles in the story, and in the movie gamer fuckboy had to take pictures of people to play a role in the story
I like how the movie thought it was such an advanced and cool idea meanwhile it's easy as balls to actually do and frankly far more silly than we initially thought.
omg I just realized this move has Topanga Boy Meets World, Harvey Sabrina The Teenage Witch and Ham from the Sandlot. It's like a 90s kids fever dream and I'm here for it.
9:45 I used to have this movie too. I seem to remember in the bonus features they showed how they had the actors wear make up and lots of hair gel to make them look more cartoony so they'd look more like video game characters.
i love how when you review something as dumb and silly as this you actually keep a positive attitude and talk about the things you liked about it. like i think most people probably wouldve just ruthlessly made fun of this movie but the fact that you actually liked it makes this video so much more fun
