I know a thing or two about taking things apart... (don't go diggin in my backyard), this shit's hella useful if you wanna optimize your gamecube controller. Specifically for Super Smash Bros Melee, Brawl, WiiU or Frying Pan
one time my brother brought a few friends over to our house to play some melee. one of them invited me to play, he even insisted into switching my knockoff GameCube controller for his legit 2001 controller, real nice dude. so we are just playing in corneria, both the guy whom I switched controllers with and I end up in a sudden death and then out of salt he ends up peeling off the little gum on the joystick in one stroke like, we couldn't find the little fucker in a million years, so instead of doing what you did I grabbed one of those little foam thingies, that came with the very painful earbuds that sucked and would stretch your ear and fall off from your ears and get tangled for no reason, and put it on the top of the joystick. it was a perfect fit. P.S thanks for making this, you are my fucking hero. seeing as how my already mentioned knock off controller has so many flaws. to list a few it has, dead zones on the control stick, a super hard z button, a delay on all of the buttons as well as a huge travel in each press, hard buttons and just recently, the left side of the c stick stopped working, only the left side, but it 100% makes up for it simply for the size of the ring around the joystick, with specific 70 degree edges allowing for an assist in wave dashing and for having a long and resistant ass cord.
TurbinationE I'm pretty 100% sure they don't have. Been sort of dual maining the characters, and with fox's short hop I basically just press the button casually, with sheik however I have to really prepare for it mentally, so to speak.
Yo fuck takin out the spring for power shield. Just hold X + Y + R/L + START for 3 seconds and it does the same thing. No lightshield so you can hold the button down and click it in for dat good powershit.
+El Blonko - If you do this sort of thing a lot, you can get a driver kit with all the relevant bits for not too much moneys. I myself like iFixit, and got their 64 bit driver kit because i need to replace the logic board on my iMac. Been using it to play around with my GameCube controllers-- switched out the yellow c stick for a grey stick and it worked perfectly.
I use a sponge to elastic band to the left side so it's harder to reach the L button so I only light-shield and the thumb is angled sideways to the stick so I move it up and down for dashdance and no rotation makes me mess up my dashdance. It also absorbs my sweat.
Vad tycker du om den nya kontra den gamla GC-kontrollern, i den aspekten ifall det är värt att köpa? Har gamla GC och den hvide från chipchopland med lång kabel med inte shit-smash-gc-kontrollern.
Kawllie The new ones are way better than the stiff ass white ones at least. I mean if you've been using your current controllen since 2001 you can definitely level up some with a new one. These are pretty much the controller out there, unless you can find a brand new "G1 controller". Just fix the L/R-button thing and you're good to go.
The funny thing I found was that the trigger buttons got stuck only on the Japanese controllers. An easy solution would be to just take the triggers from an American controller and then no more sticky triggers. =)
All I figured out is my generic controller sucks for modding due to the size of the button circuit pads on the fucking controller. Real one? Huge, perfect for soldering. Mine? Small as shit. Oh well.
Arson Bjork Thank you so much! Yeah I'll have to keep fiddling with it or just replace it. I wasn't too sure. It happened after opening up if the context helps at all
well it's wierd thar z would stop working with the rest of them. the others could be that you put the rubber mat thing wrong when putting the controller back together. could be the same with the z-button, that you put the button back wrong
Angelo Riggs Daisy's my main/waifuDon't tell her, but I have something special planed for valentines. Maybe I'll get to down smash her (if ya know what I mean)
