Oh god, skipping the tutorials on Kirby Air Ride is so bad. The game is SO good, but you need to know what you're doing. It's like button mashing in a fighting game, you're technically playing, but without knowing how shit is REALLY played, you're not going to have a good time.
you just explained exactly why i didn’t like this game the first time i played it. i NEVER skip tutorials on a first playthrough, but for some reason this was the ONE game i skipped…i stopped playing within 30 minutes. i need to go back and play it again.
If only they took the time to watch the tutorials and weren't so trigger happy with the buttons trying to fast-forward to playing the game. Then they would actually understand what the hell is going on.
@hopkey123 It was especially disappointing for me since I love this underrated masterpiece so much that I bought it _twice_ (in English and in Japanese)!
This and Sonic Riders are definitely "Once you master it, it's a blast" kind of games. I owned both. I hope they give it a second chance at some point.
Yeah, Kirby Air Ride is definitely one of my favorite multiplayer games. Possibly in my top 20 games to be honest. It was pretty frustrating watching them not really take the time to get into it and understand the game better. I have a feeling they won't be going back to it and just remember it as a weird/meh game. They're missing out. Oh well, i still love the Doods
Never played this game myself but i can feel the sonic riders effect where you need to learn the controls/gameplay before you can really judge the game and have fun :D
"This is terrible, we don't know what to do or what's going on" ~Yovideogames Is ... Is this just like Egoraptor when he gets mad on a game he skipped the tutorial?
i played the city mode in this non-stop loved it to death. always put it to the longest time and me and my brother would run around the city this needs to come back with a 40 person match or at least the option to play online
It's not about the button, the game mode tutorial is the problem. And sure there's only one button but they seem to have failed to understand that you can tilt the control stick to glide, and that charging during a glide makes you land instantly.
Watching you guys play, it's making more sense why reviewers at the time gave this game low scores. e.g. I don't get it and I have other games to play/review, let's move on.
I feel like if they played Smash Run on Smash 4 3DS, they might jive with City Trial a little more since it's essentially the same thing in a more familiar format But yeah the reason it is so long is just to give you more time to find secrets, fight bosses and events, change rides, and fuck with your friends so you can screw them over. Never liked the random event thing personally since it is really easy to just make it so you are shit out of luck on the event if you choose the wrong stuff (Also the only event I really wanted most of the time was the Free for All Derby were you can actually fight each other) but I THINK they occasionally give you hints about the next events but it has been a long time
sadly, people did copyright claim a guy saying Your Not A Gnome cause it sounded like You Are Not Alone so, singing baby park as baby shark will be annoying ^^;;
