All American defense was ridic. I threw so many interceptions as if defense knew where receivers break was going to be. And so many pick 6. Varsity is good for me with toned down user sliders
I averaged 50+ points a game with Miami, ran for over 3000 yds, passed for over 5,000. On Heisman difficulty. Defense pass defense was dead last, DBs would just be standing still letting WRs run pass them. My run defense is immaculate.
@@tycoon214 then you should make it harder to stop the run, because realisticly,no one shuts down everybody's run game,or maybe we should play and see if your run defense is as immaculate as you say.
I just played a game last night ODU vs Miami. Lost 26-24 at home. I had a 10 point first quarter. Gave up 17 to Miami in the second after fumbling a kickoff and throwing a pick. Held them to three field goals in the second half, while scoring two TD’s in the fourth. Two failed onside kicks sealed my loss. I had fun though. 😁
This is legit one of the best videos done on any game, and it's not because you explained some of the features. It's because you told everyone worried about what options they wanted to turn on to stop worrying and change what makes the game fun for them.
I played on rookie. Road to the show or story one. I was QB. My running back was scoring just about every play. I played with sliders and nothing changed. So upped to all american, and WAY TO HARD. My runningback couldnt get anywhere, and I was throwing interceptions left and right. Varsity seemed to be my g spot. BUT I agree the game makes your team play worse. Developers love to take the easy way out on difficulty settings these day.
Haven't played true defense yet, but every pick I throw turns into a Pick-6 because I cannot tackle for nothing. I just play Offense, and I adjust the sliders for the pass and run blocking so that I actually have a chance to make a read, get to the corner, etc.
I play on hiesmen an have done 5-6 seasons with my pass blocking slider is on 60, but I have notice I only feel pressured when I’m waiting for the deep passes to get open an most my picks are simply bad reads, I will get the hiesmen bs seems all my wr drop pass are tipped in the air where there’s always hits the grown
the 1st game I played.. the 1st thing I noticed was poor defense. Really bad pursuit angles, and really poor tackling. I enjoy realistic settings and I'm still tuning my gameplay sliders to where It feels most realistic but what I like so far is.. all offensive sliders at 0, for both CPU and player sliders. For defensive sliders.. I left pass coverage at 50 but set play recognition and tackling to 90, and turned interceptions down to 15, again for both player and CPU settings. The fumble rate seems very high and I'm going to turn that down to 20, again for both CPU and player sliders. I have the difficulty set on all American. The defensive settings helped big time, linebackers and DBs don't just stand still waiting for the ball carrier, they actually try to pursue him.. and ball carriers don't just bounce off defenders on every play so tackling is solid. On offense lowering the values to 0 seems to make players operate much more on their personal attributes and skill sets. For example if a receiver is contacted by a defender as the ball arrives, most times the receiver won't complete the catch. If it's a receiver with higher catching attributes he will hold on to the ball more frequently than the receiver with lower catch attributes. Also quarterbacks with lower accuracy attributes will not have as good of ball placement if not set or contacted by a defender while releasing the ball. Only played one two games with settings like sliders like this but like it so far.. it's definitely a big improvement. The sliders seem very similar to the Madden games of the past few years so adjusting them will be a must if you want to ax the EA arcade style and have a more sim experience
Good video, I use to feel bad adjusting the sliders playing madden but I’m an offline gamer and enjoyed the game a lot more once I got the sliders right
@@alfordyoung6962 I do get that. However a computer generated player? Not even his number? In offline mode? Seems ludicrous. Especially since I can make anyone I want too in Madden. Including former players. It just doesn’t make sense.
@alfordyoung6962 Now use your, obviously pee sized, brain for one second and think about the logic of that. You can literally do that in Madden, nba2k, the show and every single other sports game. Charles Barkley famously refuses to sign his likeness away yet 2k still allow editing and sharing. Same with the other leagues. Not every player is in it yet we can still edit and share. Don’t be a fucking idiot. Do better. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
It doesn’t matter what you do with sliders, EA needs to fix the player switch logic so that when you switch to another defender it switches you to the correct one.
Yup I haven’t played football games since 14 I started on varsity til I learn all the controls now I’m going back to all American which I used to play on
I wish there was a way to adjust the difficulty on offense and on defense. I can play offense on Heisman, but I get torched on defense on Heisman. I get that sliders will play a big role in this though. I want the cpu to be challenging and make wins feel earned. But I don’t want to CPU’s QB to be omnipotent and make instantaneous reads to where using the switch stick is useless.
One thing I noticed was that while running the ball, if you sprint right away the defenders will shed their blocks immediately. I started running at normal speed until I cross the line of scrimmage and then hit sprint. It’s been working great for me. I can also pull off the ball carrier moves more effectively when I’m under control. Has anyone else seen this? It was the same way for me in Madden.
Yeah, it's so much easier to control, do moves and get yardage without sprint. I only use sprint if I have a wide open field. As soon as you use sprint the defense is all over you.
You are 100% correct on difficulty! Guys playing on Hosman proves nothing it’s not even the most realistic setting. And something is really off about this game because I play CPU versus CPU coach mode and I have found that the best settings and sliders that I’ve come up with so far to make things realistic is well you wouldn’t believe it. What I mean by realistic is number one Alabama versus number two Georgia in a death match shootout results in a shootout and say Georgia number one versus Toledo ends in a blowout by Georgia. This is realistic what I have found is that the best setting for this is Varsity or all American and the computer sliders almost to zero and the human sliders almost to 75 that’s how greatly off the balance of this game is. So if you’re playing on Heisman with sliders at 50 across-the-board, not only are you playing a game where the CPU is basically cheating like hell, but it’s just not realistic at all
I enjoyed this video. You're 100% correct about sliders and settings. Make the game enjoyable for you. Find your sweet spot and have fun! Make the game as challenging for you as you'd like it to be. Thanks for encouraging players to play that way. Too much hate out there for people trying to enjoy their games their way.
Freshman default settings I blow teams out nearly 100-0, next level up I still won, but the first half was interesting, but ended up blowing them out in the 4th qrter putting up 4 TDs. One was a Pick 6
Brah, what you were saying about the sliders was gold until they've worked some of these bugs out this is the best option for playing the game to me I still have to try it but it made since. Thanks
Id recommend using the placement and accuracy setting then turn the passing slowdown timer to make, and reticle sensitivity to about 7. Play on it for awhile until you feel like you understand how to throw away from the defender in certain situations, or over the top in others. But as you use it and get comfortable, slide the slow down timer down 1 notch (fastest to fast). Keep doing this and i swear itll help.
This is so true. Once you get above varsity it makes the computer team players better and the user team players way worse. Its horrendous with base sliders
Losing close game on varsity 😅😂 but hey I’m learning the ways and routes of this game eventually I’ll shoot it up to all American but gotta dominate all difficulties settings first lol
I love the positivity of this video and agree 100% adjust to play it your way because this game should be fun for everyone to play and some want more of a challenge than others and I may or may not yell at my TV because of it but that's just my preference
The thing that slider settings won't help with, is the fact that so many passing routes in this game take way too long to develop. Do college receivers really run 30-yard digs, zigs, and wheels? There is simply no time to get the ball to those receivers before they get halfway through their routes! So I have to keep hot-routing those guys to short slants and drags.
@@calypsoseraph Hahaha for REAL!! I mean, a guy leaving his seat to go get a hotdog would make it back before a receiver finishes running that deep combo post/dig or whatever the heck that half octagon pattern is supposed to be!
I don't listen to anyone who claims they're great on Heisman. I already know they spend most of their time exploiting animations and known coding glitches. There is no skill in that. Other than spotting them (which is a Reddit search away). I want to play realistic ball. I can run the same 5-7 plays all game and spam certain blitzes also. ...but where is the fun in that?
Ngl if your players on defense are bad your defense gonna be trash ... I beat # 2OU in my dynasty with # 16Temple 64-62 in 3OT the game was crazy going back and forth. I can definitely say this game was worth the 11 year wait never played a single game with so much adrenaline rushing through my veins. It's super competitive I actually got beat by Michigan the previous year in 1st Rd CFP (blown out) definitely the best NCAA Football to be released in my opinion. It's very realistic, in real life most of these college teams have great offense and horrible defense
I played a 42-40 national championship classic game was down 21-13 scored a TD and 2 pt conversion to tie it up then down 35-28 hit my RB for a screen pass he broke 2 tackles and tied the game to send it to OT with less then a minute left then in OT back n forth then when the other team failed to hit their 2 conversion I got the ball I was down to my last down 4th & 16 and I hit my slot receiver for a TD then hit him again for a 2 pt conversion and as soon as I hit him the team rushed the field to celebrate so yeah I can relate this game is so Much fun def worth the wait lol
My settings. Heisman Player sliders all 60. Cpu sliders all 40. Special teams sliders I don't touch for either. Offensive adjustment pass blocking aggressive Defensive adjustment DB to WR match by overall rating. I'm having fun games this way and when it gets easy. I'll bump the cpu by 5 on all sliders. Remember college football has a lot of scoring. It's not the NFL.
Instead of fixing RTG and bs chants, how about fixing the missing playbooks 4-2-5 and 3-3-5 and also the Oline play. I got a 5star transfer LT overall 94 with 90 pblk, he was getting beat all game by a FRESHMAN overall 68
Yup, or 325lb lineman running down a 93 ovr WR or 90 ovr RB. My favorite is watching these big 12 sandwich eating mfkrs beat RB to the edge on toss and stretch plays ... I looks fake AF because it's unrealistic AF
For madden I play on superstar college football all American to me everybody isn’t an all madden player and everyone isn’t a heisman trophy winner to me so i agree with you on that
I’m going with placement and accuracy because I’m gonna play madden too so I might as well get used to that. Now the heat seeker feature sometimes mess me up too because I wanna go a certain way and it turns me different than I want. Players gotta realize average time to throw a ball is 2.7 seconds in college. So defenses get to the quarterback quick.
TIP: sometimes you have to bench players that arent playing well in the game they could be one of your best players but they are going to make you lose that game.
Heisman has been the perfect challenge for me. The only thing I bumped was pass block. I might tough interceptions just because you're right about the cpu. But it's been a great challenge with Georgia Tech
I’m 8 years in with my UNLV rebuild and heisman has made it enjoyable. The ints were killing me so I put both user & cpu ints to 25 and it gives user and cpu more swats instead of ints every play. And another thing that I did was bump the facemask offsides to 60 and holding to 57. I get about 6-7 penalties a game, same for the cpu. Madden I would have them to 80 and rarely get penalty’s without11min quarters. I really can say that this gAme is what I expected😢 and I don’t see myself buying madden until the do export draft.
What slider turns down the QB insta field read? When I play good QBs I expect them to be accurate on everything short and middle, and they are, but especially in the second half they throw into every teeny tiny window less than a second after the snap with perfect diagnosis and timing. It’s mega elite, and guys who are just good and not great are doing it. Should I just turn up my own pass coverage sliders a little to make it less effortless for them or does it make sense to play with QB accuracy?
How about the game just playing like it should?? And the player having control over what happens instead of the animations like Madden that are killing the immersion
You are spot on I utilize my sliders, and I definitely enjoy the gameplay. I'm an offensive coordinator in my dynasty so i set the defense to slow and watch the defense play on the field I won't infer ere with how the defense is, I just let the players get better as time goes on and I'm on the edge of my seat in close games when the D has to get a stop.
Player Speed Scale I’m putting on 0. Thank you for making this video. Cause in my dynasty with Florida there’s no way my 5 star quarterback with 93 speed should be getting hawked down by a lineman when I break to scramble in the back field!!
Always thought difficulty should apply weekly depending on your opponent..freshman when you play a bad team, varsity an avg team, AA a good team, heisman a great team
I’m in weird spot. Varsity seems too easy but all American seems tad to hard lol. I’ve tried messing with sliders but no luck yet. My defense always marshmallow soft on all American
Heisman is definitely my sweet spot . Otherwise I score on 90% of drives . It’s so easy to break the coverages with motion . Heisman with only controlling 1 side of the ball and watching the other has me actually struggling to win nattys even with a 90 OVR team. All American is the most balanced for sure .
Playing on Varsity and it's still tecmo bo Jackson scripted game play too many 2nd down sack their QB for a upcoming 3rd and 12 just for the cpu Everytime to get 13 - 30 yrs multiple times a game no matter the team
unless im missing it lol did you say to higher or lower the reaction time and pass coverage?? im trying to write this down on my phone for later haha.... otherwise great vid. i had my offense tweaked already from another guys vid i still needed the defense tweaked, hoping this works! im thinking of setting it up like this.. qb acc to 55. passblock to 75. run block to 75. tackling 65. i just need to know what numbers to do with reaction time and pass coverage to finish it out
I feel that if someone feel like CPU is OP, once the sliders are adjusted to the users liking, the game feels a lot better to whatever play style you want to achieve.
I'm still getting use to tackling in this game. I don't mess with the settings though because I Luke the challenge. Sometimes it can be annoying though lol.
3:28 Thank you for saying this (and for the overall difficulty setting too, I've been playing on Heisman and barely winning. I feel like I'm learning but it's going very slowly and I'm not enjoying myself as much as I could be.).
I agree 100% that turning up the difficulty makes your team play worse. I played the same matchup on two different difficulties and on the harder difficulty my O line was just laying down.
New sub here. I’m struggling big time with Defense. Offense is on point. I run on varsity but switching to all American next season. I need to get to the basics on D. Someone point me in the right direction. Respect and love to you all.
Well if you're using Michigan just use the coach skill (spy on your opponents and film their practices) or the better one (screw the rules, we're michigan).
Found the cheat code play on offense. Love running the Jet sweep out of the Wildcat! All you need is a good line and fast halfbacks and it’s nearly unstoppable! Led me to get hired by Alabama entering year 3 (2026)
Be aware, the coach mode in this game isn’t 1/2 as good as it was in NCAA 14. The QB has a tendency just stand there and eat sacks like candy. Unfortunately, it’s better to “play” in CPU vs. CPU slow sim if you want all your player ratings to matter.
I be telling people that cpu vs cpu dynasty is gonna become the new wave for any football game goes for college football and madden it shows the real realistic side and funner
This is kinda a funny bug that ive experienced a few times ... A team will celebrate when its the wrong time lol. Ive seen the kicking team celebrate a missed kick or celebrate a turn over thats on them lol
Heisman is not hard AT ALL. Everyone keeps saying defense is hard but we have to understand that in reality those players aren’t pros like Madden. These are young players they’ll get beat. It’s real life.
Thanks for this.. feels incredibly difficult playing against the pass with default settings. I was 6-1 in my Dynasty mode on All American with my only loss to #10 team in OT.. playing @ #1 OSU and I lost 90-16. CPU just doesn't miss and torched me for 600yards passing and 7 TDs. Any time I'd hold them to 3rd down they always torch me through the air. Was incredibly frustrating. Didn't matter if I played zone or man.. blitzed or not.. I'll play w/ the sliders more - thanks for the breakdown!
Great video, play the game and enjoy. I had to reset my thinking and break myself from bad habits I got into when playing Madden. Switching up the player I chose to control at pre-snap helped out a bunch, made me think about defense as a whole rather than just for the one player (especially switching from playing defensive line every play)
This video isn’t the solution for better defense if you are paying competitively live, online, or at someone else’s house. These will help if you are playing solo.
What about the absence of multi-game injury issue in dynasty? A user controlled team is practically experiencing no players on the injury list. Are you aware of this issue?
Blocking g the run in this game us atrocious. The D line Nay as well watch from the sideline vs the run. 3&15 ... 7/10 times the QB run right through the defense untouched all the way for a TD ... straight uo blowing through 7, 8, and once, 9 missed tackles. That's extreme and needs fixed ASAP. #NFLM24 I turned interceptjons all the way off and still throw 5 ints sometimes. Unacceptable. It's ridiculous that the picks are so bad anyone would need to adjust the sliders - save the effort. Makes zero difference in 24. AA25 much better in that regard
@@Christopher-dd1ph lmfao you people are running the skill issue line in the ground lmfao. Yes it’s a skill issue that while I’m covering one side of the field they throw a screen pass and my ai just stands there and looks. Cool story bro. Hope your moms proud of her big gamerboy
The problem with these is you guys like to hear yourself talk. All this nonsense when all i want is defensive settings. Just want what the video advertises. And i could not listen to all bla bla bla. Turned it off
Got my sub. I like the way you promote individual game play. Some of us get to play 3 days straight and then don't have time for 2 weeks straight. Always in a perpetual state of learning the game.
